00:05He was really nice. He came on stage halfway through our set and we sang a Johnny Cash song together.
00:18But it was terrifying because Pete Doherty fans are so hardcore that when I first came out and started singing
00:26they were not interested at all.
00:29Who are I? It was so scary but it was like a baptism of fire.
00:36Like Manchester Academy screaming Pete Doherty fans.
00:39I just turned around to the band and went, let's play all the songs as fast as we can, now!
00:45So basically played a kind of thrash version of all of the songs and then I crowd surfed, just sort
00:52of threw myself into the audience.
00:53But that seemed to kind of turn them around.
00:57And actually I've had some people who were at that show have kept coming to the Manchester show.
01:04But yeah, Pete was really nice.
01:10Oh yeah, that was like, I forgot to say that was a real highlight of the year was being nominated
01:14for him actually.
01:16It was just, yeah it was just really, it was really nice to be on that list.
01:21And I thought other artists on it were really, it was a really good list to be part of and
01:25I was really happy.
01:30Yeah, Reading Festival was my, fell on my birthday.
01:36Um, so yeah, it was so weird cause we had to, we drove down tour bus, like I had to
01:41get up really early morning.
01:42And the first thing that happened was I did an acoustic set and I had like this crowd of like
01:47Reading early morning festival goers singing me happy birthday.
01:52And, but I mean that was a weird, that was an amazing way to start a birthday.
01:56Um, and then the actual gig itself was like, it was just, it was so big.
02:01Like the crowd was, sometimes I can't really believe it, like stepping out there and you kind of have to,
02:07I have to keep looking at the band cause I can't look at the crowd.
02:10And I'm like, so many of you, what are you doing here?
02:14Um, but they were like, it was really incredible.
02:18Like they all sung happy birthday and then there was this big present for me on this, on the drum.
02:23And I opened it and the band had got me a megaphone.
02:26I was like, of all the people on stage, I think I'm the person who at least needs like to
02:32be louder.
02:33But it did make this really cool alarm sound.
02:35So I just like walked around on stage with this like alarm thing and I don't know, got very, um,
02:42excited and climbed all the way up to the top.
02:44Cause at Glastonbury I'd managed to get like halfway up the lighting rig.
02:47And this time I was like, it's my birthday, it's probably the last time I'm going to do this.
02:51To see how high I can get.
02:52And I got to the top and then just kind of said, oh, I'll just hang around for a bit.
02:56And like, managed to hang off with one arm and, but then I got banned from doing that because apparently
03:03my mum's like, watched it behind the sofa.
03:05We're at home like, like nearly in tears.
03:08And none of the band could rewatch it because even then they knew I'd got down.
03:13My drummer Chris was like, I just thought you were going to fall.
03:15I thought you were going to fall.
03:16I couldn't watch it.
03:17I was like, well, I'm here.
03:18You know, I got down, you know that I did.
03:20He's like, yeah, but, but no, don't do that again.
03:23So not my, well, I don't know, who knows?
03:26Um, and yeah, that, it was just a really amazing, like, really amazing birthday to have, I think.
03:34I couldn't really ask for that.
03:37Apart from the jamming of my thumb in the door of the dressing room at the very end of the
03:43night and ending up in the medical tent.
03:44Apparently half of my family ended up in the medical tent.
03:47I think my dad was there for some reason.
03:49I don't know why, like without me.
03:52And like my sister was there with me because I was like crying and covered in blood.
03:56But you know, it was like, you know, happy families in the medical tent at the end of Reading.
04:02Yeah, it was good.
