00:00The fight continues and we all want to win this case and to stop the embassy.
00:07It's worth emphasising for those feeling discouraged by today's judgement that we have together already prevented the Chinese Communist Party
00:16from breaking ground at Royal Mint Court for more than seven months.
00:21The Royal Mint Court Residents Association argued the presence of the new Chinese mega-embassy could lead to terrorist attacks
00:30or the repression of protests, while being used to enforce what was described as draconian Chinese laws in the UK
00:38and to target dissidents.
00:40The Residents Association claimed that the planning decision had been made unlawfully, that there was a failure to disclose a
00:49blast assessment and security statement, that the government had not followed planning regulations and that it had not identified and
00:58assessed human rights.
00:59This claim was rejected by the judges.
01:02My name is Chloe Cheung, and I'm one of the Hong Konger who moved to the UK with a one
01:08million Hong Kong dollar bounty imposed by the Chinese Communist Party because I speak up against them.
01:15We are disappointed by today's decision, but this is not the end of our fight.
01:21For many people, this is not just about a building.
01:25It is about whether people can truly feel safe here in Britain.
01:30As someone targeted by the Chinese Communist Party, I know why it is important that Britain protect itself from foreign
01:40intimidation.
01:42I came to Britain to find safety, and I do not want to spend the rest of my life looking
01:50over my shoulder.
01:52Fear will not determine what we do next.
01:56It's a very murky arrangement over this embassy, and much of the evidence that we've given out should really set
02:02pulses racing over just exactly how this all came about.
02:06And even as we witness this, we think of a government in China, the Chinese Communist Party, that has trashed
02:12the Sino-British agreement,
02:14that is threatening countries like the Philippines and Vietnam over the South China Seas,
02:19that illegally take possession of the South China Seas.
02:21It threatens to invade Taiwan.
02:23It's carrying out a genocide in Xinjiang, a very identifiable one.
02:28The millions of men are now in slave labor camps.
02:30Women are being forcibly sterilized.
02:32And the children are in re-education camps.
02:36They tolerate no disagreement, and they do not understand the concept of the freedom and the rule of law that
02:43underpins it.
02:43We do not.
02:44And so we will fight this on with the residents, because it is all about them,
02:50and it's about allowing this country, or making this country in a way, represent ordinary people's views and feelings and
02:58concerns.
