00:15In the post-apocalyptic world of a Mad Maxian future, the end of civilization has left a band of nomadic
00:23survivors to pillage a scorched dead planet.
00:38Law and order are gone and our infrastructure has collapsed.
00:42The fittest and most resourceful scavenge what they can from the wreckage of a broken civilization.
00:47It's the end of everything.
00:49It's hell on Earth.
00:56It's also fertile territory for making some really cool things.
01:02On this episode, two of my favorite builders and I will take on the ultimate challenge to build three badass
01:12post-apocalyptic battle vehicles using only what we can scavenge from a scrap heap.
01:17Dibs!
01:19Then we'll face off in a mechanical melee deep in the dystopian desert.
01:31This is Savage Builds.
01:38So what would it take to survive in a post-apocalyptic world?
01:46All the trappings of civilization are gone and spread to the winds.
01:51The limited humans left would be fighting over the resources.
01:54Life itself would be nasty, brutish, and short.
01:58But this would also be an incredible opportunity for human invention and ingenuity.
02:03Every single one of us would have to scavenge everything we need from what we could find.
02:08That's what this build is all about.
02:11To create my very own Mad Max-inspired battle car using only the scavenged items of a ruined world.
02:20And where better to get inspiration than from the dystopian devotees of the post-apocalyptic themed Wasteland Festival.
02:29A fully immersive event in the desert that happens once a year where a bunch of Mad Max-ers come
02:36together, have fun, and show off their impressive collection of custom rides.
02:41This is your baby.
02:42It is.
02:43Oh my God.
02:44She's a 1939 Dodge Luxury Liner.
02:48She'll make .5 fast light speed.
02:51Tell me about this thing.
02:52What's she called?
02:53Fifi Fury.
02:54Fifi Fury?
02:54She's a 69 Plymouth Fury on a GMC dump truck chassis.
03:00What does the big thing shoot?
03:01That's a Russian War II tank machine gun.
03:04You don't drive it on the street?
03:05Oh yeah.
03:06I mean, take the flamethrowers off of it.
03:08Next big addition, I want a quad harpoon.
03:11Getting a lot of ideas here.
03:13These guys are clearly creative masters of repurposing found materials into awesome cars and weaponry.
03:20And just like the Wastelanders, I'm going to try my own Mad Max-ian battle car build off.
03:26My challengers?
03:27Two of the most creative and talented makers I know.
03:31Designer builder Laura Kampf and inventor and roboticist Simone Yatch.
03:36Hi.
03:37Good morning.
03:38Good morning.
03:38You feel ready to do this?
03:40Absolutely.
03:40As ready as I'm ever going to be.
03:42Awesome.
03:43Let's get in the car.
03:48So what are we doing, Adam?
03:50All right.
03:50I love cars.
03:52I love telling stories about cars.
03:53And what I want you guys to do with me is a post-apocalyptic melee fight using cars and only
04:02found materials.
04:03I love demolition derbies, but I don't want to just smash each other.
04:06I want this to have strategy to it.
04:09So we're going to come up with a weapon target system that maybe disables the cars.
04:14Okay.
04:15So we have some targets that you have to hit.
04:17Exactly.
04:18So we're going to have weapons?
04:20But non-lethal, right?
04:22I sure hope so.
04:23Of course non-lethal.
04:23I don't want to kill you guys.
04:25We're on our way to a junkyard now to buy three cars.
04:28No.
04:29Then we're going to pull up to our shop and we're going to have three days each to do all
04:33of our modifications.
04:40So they just pick them apart so they can sell the parts that are still intact?
04:44Yeah.
04:45Yes.
04:45And they have a bunch of running cars too.
04:47I think it'll head this way.
04:48Okay.
04:49Oh, hold on.
04:50I'm going to look over here.
04:55So we're scavenging for any parts we come across that could be useful or just look cool.
05:02And we're looking for cars that can take a pounding and dish it out.
05:06Oh, also, they have to be able to run.
05:09Ooh.
05:10Oh.
05:11Ooh.
05:17Oh, this looks like it runs.
05:24This is a few years later, but this is my first car.
05:30Oh.
05:31Oh.
05:32All right.
05:38I don't care that it won't start.
05:40This is my car.
05:43Oh, yeah.
05:45I want this car.
05:46Oh.
05:48I think I found my car.
05:50Cars in Germany are typically a lot smaller than American cars, so I cannot wait to get behind the wheel
05:55of this car.
05:58Yeah, this feels good.
06:01Yes!
06:02I think it has a steel frame, so it'll be really easy to weld to.
06:05And other than smelling a little bit like urine, I think it's going to be perfect.
06:09Dudes!
06:11Dibs!
06:12Whoa!
06:17I'm so happy with my car.
06:20I think it's a winner.
06:21Now we just need to put some junk on it.
06:23I am taking you both to the most perfect location for large volumes of junk.
06:28Yes!
06:29Yes!
06:31Oh, yeah.
06:32Oh, wow.
06:34This salvage yard is the perfect spot to acquire some robust defensive materials.
06:39Could barbed wire go through a tire?
06:41Uh, yeah.
06:43Uh-huh.
06:44Mm-hmm.
06:45And to find some offensive weaponry.
06:49Oh, it's a pitching machine.
06:51I think I just found my non-lethal weapon.
06:54Oh!
06:56I found this really cool skeet shooter.
06:59Perfect.
07:01I want this.
07:03I don't know what I want it for, but I want it.
07:06Oh!
07:09Outstanding!
07:10Now the challenge feels real.
07:13Three days of building and testing to convert our bits and bobs and vehicles into suitable war rigs ready for
07:20a duel in the desert.
07:22You guys feel ready?
07:23Yeah, I found some good stuff.
07:24Let's get post-apocalyptic.
07:25Ooh!
07:27Three cars in, one car leaves.
07:31Three cars in, one car leaves!
07:40The Mad Maxian devotees of the End of the World Wasteland Festival have filled me up with apocalyptic inspiration.
07:52Keep going, come on, come on, come on, come on!
07:54Now, two of my favorite makers and I are building battle cars from scavenged parts for a showdown in the
08:01desert.
08:02Stop!
08:03A post-apocalyptic fantasy is the most pure form of in-situ resource utilization.
08:09You can only build with the things that you have at hand.
08:13That is both the terror and also secretly the promise of the apocalypse.
08:19We need some targets on the cars and some way of determining who wins.
08:24How many targets are you thinking?
08:25I was thinking three.
08:26Three is good.
08:27Rule of threes.
08:27Yeah, that's good.
08:28The structure of this contest is pretty simple.
08:30Three builders.
08:31Three cars.
08:33Three days to modify those cars.
08:35And each car is loaded with three targets.
08:38Two low targets on either side of the front bumpers and one much harder to reach target mounted high on
08:45the roof.
08:45So each contestant has to take out both of their other opponents to be the last builder standing.
08:50So we're not killing each other?
08:51No.
08:52No.
08:53Let's get started.
08:54Okay.
09:02I cannot imagine two better opponents to bring into this contest than Simone and Laura.
09:10I found some cash to help with the budget.
09:12Each of them is an amazing builder, engineer, designer.
09:16But they also come up with ideas that would have never occurred to me.
09:22Oh.
09:24My name is Simone Jatch.
09:25I'm from Stockholm, Sweden, and I'm an inventor, kind of.
09:29I make videos about the things I build.
09:34I've mostly been making useless machines, like an alarm clock that slaps me in the face, or like a robot
09:42that tries to serve me soup.
09:46Simone is such a delightful seat of the pants engineer.
09:50Oh, yeah.
09:51She really understands what it is to just start packing away and seeing what works.
09:57Just clear up a lot of space for the build.
10:00Taking out everything that we don't need before we start filling it with things that we actually need.
10:27Cool weapon.
10:29My name is Laura Kampf.
10:30I'm from Cologne, Germany, and I make weekly videos about building stuff.
10:35It could be anything.
10:36It could be a boat motor.
10:37It could be a bicycle modification, or furniture, or the tiny house that I'm living in.
10:42It's all over the place.
10:48Laura is a very methodical maker.
10:51She has this aesthetic that brings out the joy in making.
10:55She's also a wonderful engineer.
10:58I have a rough idea, a rough feeling for where I want this to go.
11:02And my first step is to mess this car up.
11:06Wow, that looks ugly.
11:08Laura's plan is to build a post-apocalyptic police cruiser fight car
11:12with a battering ram grill.
11:15I started by cutting holes in the hood.
11:17This lighting goal shape will be a design element that I will repeat for the windows and everywhere in the
11:22car.
11:26I love it to see stuff that has no value.
11:30It was on a junkyard.
11:30It's supposed to go into the trash.
11:32And then you add more trash to it.
11:35And somehow it's like alchemy.
11:38Put it together and there is value.
11:40Yeah, I like it.
11:44Helping us realize our dystopian visions are our three shop builders.
11:49Marcos Ramirez is working with Simone, while John Marcoux is with Laura.
11:54It could literally place down and sheet metal screw into the hood.
11:58Okay.
11:58Jen Schachter is helping me get my concept car off of the page and into reality.
12:03For my design, I'm going to emulate one of the unsung beasts of the desert.
12:08The mighty warthog, complete with angry tusks and a fearsome mohawk.
12:14My offensive weapon of choice?
12:16That pitching machine I found in the junkyard.
12:25In order to aim and fire in any direction, I'm going to build a swivel mount to the roof of
12:29my car that I can operate from below like a periscope.
12:34Yeah.
12:40Alright.
12:41That's it.
12:43Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha.
12:47Like this?
12:49Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.
12:50Ba-ba-bum, ba-ba-bum, ba-ba-bum.
12:53In your face, apocalypse!
12:57Now, what's the one thing that no self-respecting post-apocalyptic car owner should do without?
13:06Armor.
13:07That piece of steel diamond plate that we found sets the whole aggressiveness of the car.
13:13It makes the design.
13:23This is my new, battle-improved grill.
13:27I think I can take out pretty much anything with this.
13:31Cows, snow, and Adam and Simone.
13:37Ah, Laura, you are, like, intimidating me.
13:41This is so nice.
13:44I really like it.
13:47I'm just going to walk away.
13:52Our builds are shaping up.
13:53At this point, Laura seems to be focused on brute force.
13:57I'm concentrating on my targeting system to give my warthog the edge I need,
14:01and Simone's plan...
14:03Simone's plan is just not that clear yet.
14:05It's end of day one.
14:07I'm trying my best not to look over at Adam and Laura, what they're doing,
14:11because I feel like they've added a lot of things,
14:13and I've mostly just taken away a lot of things.
14:16I don't even know what we're going to come up with.
14:23Oh, yeah!
14:36It's day two of our post-apocalyptic build.
14:40Laura Kopp's battle car is already projecting an appropriate air of menace.
14:45I'm prepping my warthog for battle,
14:47while Simone is turning her attention to her car's defenses.
14:52So I'm thinking, like, if I could puncture their tires in some way...
14:56Yes.
14:58...then that would kind of bring them down a notch,
15:00and then we can compete.
15:01Yeah, you might stop them altogether.
15:03Maybe I'm dragging something along that if people drive over it,
15:07their tires get busted, and then it has, like, spikes on them.
15:10Yeah, that's doable.
15:12So it's going to be like this weird little scorpion tail
15:14that's going to go on the end of the car that you can kind of flop down,
15:17and if somebody drives over it, they're probably going to bust their tires,
15:20I'm hoping.
15:21I just want to intimidate Adam and Laura.
15:24Laura's car looks so good.
15:26God.
15:27Bet.
15:33Now, our cars won't have the tank guns, harpoons, or flamethrowers
15:37that the Mad Maxxers of the Wasteland Festival have on theirs,
15:40but I am determined to make my pitching machine
15:43as fearsome a weapon as possible.
15:47Here's how this works.
15:48When I want to fire one, I pull on a string from inside the cab of the car,
15:51and that raises this lever which feeds one ball into the mechanism.
15:55Now I can see where to aim with this camera.
15:58In order to start my weapon, I plug it in here, like this.
16:05Now once I can see where to aim, I pull the trigger once.
16:09Here we go.
16:11Woah!
16:13Ha ha!
16:17Yeah!
16:19Ha ha ha!
16:22Woah!
16:25Woah!
16:27Woah!
16:29Woah!
16:30Woah!
16:33Woah!
16:34That's awesome!
16:35I'm all in on my ball shooter.
16:36I'm not the only one going ballistic.
16:42I found this really cool skeet shooter at the junkyard.
16:45Usually you use these little clay pigeons, throw them in the air and shoot them.
16:50This time I'm going to use the clay pigeons as my ammunition.
16:54They added these car door hinges so it will make it easier for me to change the aim.
17:00Let's get tested.
17:04All right, let's go.
17:10It's definitely powerful enough. A little bit lower.
17:20Yes! Nice. And it didn't break the glass.
17:28Laura's skeet shooter passes the non-lethal test.
17:32Now we have to see how it does against the plastic targets we'll be using for our desert melee.
17:37Fingers crossed.
17:44Yes!
17:48Whoa!
17:50It is really powerful.
17:54Holy...
17:55Laura is currently making all of our builds feel slightly underwhelming.
18:01I'm intimidated.
18:10I've been concentrating up till now on mostly mechanical and engineering problems.
18:14But now it's time for me to concentrate on the aesthetics and make this car look badass.
18:18And that's no small thing with an old station wagon.
18:24Okay, so it's like a fang?
18:25Yep.
18:26Perfect.
18:27Yeah.
18:36Ah, the warthog!
18:40Oh, Caddy's rolling. Turn to the left a little bit.
18:44Oh, yes.
18:46So each car is gonna have three targets, one on top, two on the sides, and you have to be
18:52very creative in how
18:54you want to take them out. And I was thinking everybody's gonna shoot and drive. So I was like,
18:59what if I just have, like, pokey-doos on my car? Like, arms. Does it look intimidating?
19:07Simone's offensive strategy is the opposite of Laura's and mine. She's put her energy in close
19:12quarter weaponry. Those dangly pokey-doos, as she calls them, are at the perfect height to take out our
19:18high targets in a drive-by spiking. Her defensive weapon is shaping up to be just as thorny.
19:29Unlike her usual, more complicated robotic builds, Simone's chosen a simpler mechanical solution for
19:35her scorpion tail. Sections of steel connected by hinges that can be folded up and dropped down.
19:41Yeah, I think once we put spikes on it, hella cool.
19:54It looks freaking awesome. I mean, it's like a proper weapon.
20:01Laura is using a car jack with a metal rod attached to a hand crank that lets her aim
20:06her skeet shooter higher or lower while driving. That is so cool.
20:19End of day two. Here's the status report. My weaponry is going really well. And my warthog is
20:27looking fierce. Laura is intimidating all of us with her skeet shooter.
20:32No way. Good job. Simone, on the other hand, has spent the entire day building her tail. And frankly,
20:41I'm wondering how scared I should be. Uh-huh. What do you say now?
20:51That's amazing. Crazy. Uh, yeah. I'm scared.
21:14I came to the shop this morning and it's just a sinking feeling to arrive and to see the gate
21:21open
21:21when you know no one else is supposed to be here. And there are tools that you recognize immediately
21:28or on the ground out front. And you're like, I knew exactly what had happened.
21:49Did they get all of your stuff as well? Yeah, they got all of my tools. Yeah.
21:54Well, it would seem that the dystopian future we've been building our cars to repair for has arrived
21:59this very morning in the, uh, guise of a robbery. We were robbed last night. Uh, they took
22:08every power tool we have in the building.
22:13Don't really have enough tools to work.
22:15I brought a few, some corded tools, jigsaws. Corded tools?
22:20What?
22:21I know.
22:26We usually have a very, very deep connection with the tools we gather and when we found them,
22:32there are stories connected. So if somebody takes that away, it's not only a drill that's missing,
22:36there's also like emotional value to these tools. So I'm, I feel very, very sorry for
22:42Marcus and Adam whose tools have been stolen.
22:46This is the hardest to replace. My electronic station. I'm glad, I'm glad that's still there. Wow.
22:58The practical effects on us for this build are significant. This seriously hampers our ability
23:05to get these cars done in a three-day timeline. Well, I guess let's get to work with what we
23:10got.
23:12I think we will overcome that and just work with what we have as if this was a real post
23:18-apocalyptic world.
23:23Most of the Mad Maxxers have spent years perfecting their cars and weapons.
23:31But we only have one day left. Simone's inner beast seemed to manifest last night with her defensive
23:39weapon, a steel scorpion tail covered in sharp tire-busting spikes. Laura, meanwhile, is cooking
23:46up a different type of defense. As my defensive weapon, I want to create a big fog screen so that
23:52people just can't see me and my targets. Yeah, she's going for the old smoke screen trick. She's
23:59placed five cylinders filled with chalk inside her rear pipe array. Okay.
24:06And connected each one with a hose to an air compressor.
24:13Ready? One, two, three.
24:20It is nice. That's not bad.
24:28Laura's defensive strategy looks like it has promise. While mine just promises to be gross.
24:36It's time to start testing my secret weapon.
24:42Animal birthing lubricant that's been dyed black.
24:49And I'm going to spray it on the windshield of Laura and Simone's car.
24:52And then I'm going to hit them with my toilet paper gun.
24:57So they have all this goofy crap on their windshield. They won't be able to see through it.
25:00I don't think either of them is thinking about a defense against this exact kind of attack.
25:09Oh, that's it!
25:15Oh, that's perfect!
25:19Oh, that is diabolical.
25:22Oh, it's so gross.
25:24Oh, this is great.
25:26Oh, they're going to be so pissed.
25:29Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
25:35The tail's working great.
25:36We're just going to make some small adjustments, but then we're ready to move on from the tail and onto
25:41the top weapon.
25:46I can't just take out people's tires.
25:48I need to be able to take out their targets, too.
25:51I'm going to have two arms at the top of my car that are coming for their side targets.
25:56So I'm just making these little stars that are the ones that are going to poke them in the target.
26:00That's it.
26:01That's my tactic.
26:14I like it.
26:16I'm going to put some spikes on it, and I need to reinforce it as well.
26:34How are we going to know who wins this contest?
26:36Well, with targets.
26:37Each car will be outfitted with three separate targets, like this one.
26:41And you've got to take out all three of your opponent's targets to kill them and remove them from competition.
26:46The goal is, of course, to be the last person standing.
26:49Each target is, in turn, wired to a set of lights on our dashboard.
26:52Lose one target, lose one light.
26:55Lose a second target, lose a second light.
26:59Now you have one light left.
27:01And when that one goes, there's a punishment involved.
27:04And it goes a little something like this.
27:12I'm okay, but it's okay, but that hurt a lot.
27:20Well, that did not go according to plan.
27:23I was planning to get sprayed with goo, and instead, I got punched in the nose, and I got a
27:28bloody nose.
27:34That six-inch length of pipe hit me right in the kisser.
27:39It's okay.
27:39Hi again.
27:40Well, our test of the Slimer didn't go as planned, but that's why you do testing.
27:46Okay.
27:46In the future, the testing will not happen on my face.
27:49And we have tested this while you were gone, and we found that it works.
27:53So, here's what happens when you lose your third light.
28:02Oh, that is so funky and awesome!
28:07What's a contest without real steak?
28:12Fun.
28:18Well, that was an interesting day.
28:20It began with a robbery and ended with a little bit of a defeat.
28:25All three of us are behind in finishing our cars.
28:28But like true post-apocalyptic survivors, we face this adversity with nothing but our wits,
28:34our will, and the scavenged ruins at hand.
28:37And only one of us will come out on top in the Desert Showdown tomorrow.
29:14The Desert Showdown
29:22All right, three contestants, three cars, three days of building,
29:27and we are now finally out in the desert,
29:29and we're about to get into the circle and fight it out.
29:37The name of my car is Das Kampfkar.
29:40Kampf is my last name, and that means fight,
29:42so I thought the fight car is a good name for this.
29:47My primary weapon is, of course, the ski shooter.
29:51I think this would be best to take out the top targets.
29:55My second weapon is the Chalk Blasters.
29:58And I'm hoping that I can maybe mess up the other guys' windshields a little bit.
30:07Simone calls her car the ferocious beast,
30:10and frankly, it scares me in a way few vehicles ever have.
30:15My tactics is just spikes, spikes all the way,
30:18and things that swing,
30:19and I am the only one who has close combat weapons like that.
30:23So I guess I'm just going to try driving up next to them.
30:27I'm hoping that I can get their top targets.
30:30This is my scorpion tail,
30:32and I can drop it down just like, boom.
30:35I introduce to this contest, the Warthog.
30:42Come on, that's the most badass a station wagon has ever been dressed up to look.
30:46My active weapon is that pitching machine up top.
30:50That can hurl balls 25 miles an hour,
30:52and if I can get to the right distance,
30:54I should be able to handily take out the top targets on my opponent's car.
30:57My secret weapon, the rhino poo sprayer,
31:01will spray the dyed black animal birthing lupican onto the windshield of my opponents,
31:05and I'm going to follow that with the toilet paper shooter.
31:08Go ahead and try and get rid of lube and toilet paper on the windshield.
31:11You're just not going to do it.
31:12I'm going to blind them.
31:14That's my tactic.
31:21Three, two, three, one car lead!
31:24Three, two, three, one car lead!
31:27Just to recap, here's how it works.
31:29Each of the three cars is loaded with three crushable targets.
31:32Right there on the front left bumper,
31:34there's another one on the right bumper,
31:35and there's another one at the top of the car.
31:37While car-to-car contact is allowed,
31:39crashing into the low targets puts your own targets at risk.
31:43So strategy is far more important here than brute force.
31:47Each target is wired to a light on each driver's dashboard.
31:51The goal is to take out all three of those of your two opponents,
31:54at which point each of them will be slimed.
31:59And if you haven't been slimed, you're the winner.
32:07You're a ferocious beast!
32:09You're feared and admired!
32:11I just want to take out one tire.
32:13That's my humble ask.
32:14Just one tire.
32:15It's all a girl wants.
32:17Two, three cars, Adam!
32:19One car lead!
32:20Two, three!
32:21It's important to stay away from Simone,
32:23because her weapons are super powerful,
32:25but she can't aim them.
32:27So as long as I keep my distance from Simone,
32:29I think I should be fine.
32:31So Adam will be my first target.
32:36Right now in this contest,
32:38I'm feeling like I'm running last.
32:40They both seem to have built cars
32:42ready to actually survive the apocalypse for us.
32:45Mine was just for a bit of fun.
32:47Battle cars, take your position!
33:00Oh my god, it's actually happening.
33:03Oh my god, it's actually happening.
33:19Oh my god.
33:30Nooo!
33:32Oh no!
33:34Yeah!
33:36No!
33:40Simone draws first blood, but she has no idea who she's messing with.
33:45Turning on my ball, shooting.
33:46I am determined to take out her top target, but I make a slight tactical error.
34:06Oh, my God, I'm out of ammo.
34:08That's crazy.
34:09I can't be out of ammo.
34:11I just tried to get away from the pack, and I tried to fire the skeet shooter.
34:23The scariest thing was Laura's skeet shooter.
34:28Laura's skeet shooter is firing at an impressive clip.
34:31But just like my ball shooter, she doesn't seem to be able to hit anything.
34:36And her chalk blasters, they're not doing much either.
34:42My ball shooter is empty, but every good engineer knows when to improvise.
35:09We're well into our dystopian desert showdown, and Simone, Laura, and I still have all three
35:15of our targets intact.
35:18Adam was driving all over the place.
35:21I tried to get away from him, but everywhere I looked, Adam was with his weird tusks.
35:35Right now, my strategy is to stay away from Simone's spikes and take out one of Laura's lower targets,
35:41without taking out mine as well.
35:52Nailed it!
35:53Laura has two targets left.
35:55I've set my sights on Simone.
36:00Just as she deploys her tire-shredding scorpion tail.
36:09Yeah!
36:12Sorry!
36:14That hit took out a target on both our cars.
36:16We're all tied up with two targets left, but Simone's put herself in position for my rhino poop spray.
36:23No way!
36:24I can't get anything!
36:25Yeah!
36:26Ah!
36:32Ah!
36:34Ah!
36:35Ah!
36:36Ah!
36:37My toilet paper gun jams, but suddenly, both Simone and I are aware.
36:41We have Laura between us.
36:44Yeah!
36:49No!
36:52No!
36:58Oh, yeah!
37:01Our attack backfires.
37:04Simone and I each lose a target while Laura escapes.
37:08Meanwhile, my rhino poo sprayer is having the desired effect on Simone's windshield.
37:13Oh, wow!
37:14This light is awful!
37:15I can't see anything!
37:17I ran the windshield wipers, and that was a bad move, because it just smeared it.
37:20So I could barely see anything out of my windshield.
37:22I had, like, one little triangle in the corner that I could see through.
37:25Oh, man!
37:27I have, like, one tiny little area.
37:30Laura!
37:34Oh, no!
37:35Oh!
37:36Oh!
37:37I don't know!
37:37That's a flash!
37:38I don't know!
37:39That's a flash!
37:41I have one life left!
37:43I've lost two of my tires!
37:46Simone's weapons are stupidly effective!
37:49I'm going for Laura's right flank!
37:51Oh!
37:51No, no, no, no, no, no!
37:53No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
37:58No, no, no, no, no, no!
37:59When I got over the point where I ran over my own bumper, the ski shooter failed,
38:04And that's when I realized, I need to just fight.
38:09Stop team hunting, Laura!
38:16And just like that, we are all down to our top targets.
38:20Once we all had our side targets out,
38:23and we only had our top targets left,
38:24and Adam was out of balls, Laura's clay shooter was jammed,
38:28and I was like, okay, now I think this might be my game.
38:31Come on, baby!
38:46Oh, I'm dead! I'm dead! I got slimed!
38:55Oh, I'm turning off my car.
38:59That was so much fun!
39:03Simone and Laura still have one target left,
39:05but each faces her own challenges.
39:08The ski shooter is not working.
39:10It's clocked up.
39:11Also, there's a lot of smoke coming out of my hook.
39:14I'm not even sure if I have tires anymore.
39:18Oh, my God!
39:19Oh, I can't see anything.
39:21Even though she's flying blind, Simone goes in for the kill.
39:34Oh, my God!
39:36I think my car is out!
39:38Three of my tires were gone at that point.
39:40There was smoke coming out of my hood.
39:42There was nothing I could do.
39:43I was terrified.
39:44Start.
39:47Please!
39:50No!
39:53Oh, my God!
39:55Simone had all the time in the world.
39:57Finish her!
39:58Finish her!
40:01Finish her!
40:04Game is hurt!
40:07Finish her!
40:20Simone wins!
40:23Long live Simone!
40:25Yeah!
40:26That's what I'm talking about!
40:27That's all!
40:27Yeah!
40:29I'm feeling so good.
40:31I can't believe I beat Adam Savage
40:33in the world comp.
40:37Simone won that handily!
40:39Her Flying Star weapons were super effective.
40:43My ball shooter and Laura's skeet shooter
40:45were just totally ineffective
40:46against those top center targets.
40:48Simone gave me two flat tires
40:50in the first five minutes.
40:56I couldn't think of better people to do this with.
40:59Why am I not losing?
41:02It was just two people that I love so much.
41:05I appreciate what they do and their work
41:06and their brains and everything.
41:08Congratulations!
41:10Thank you!
41:11Congrats!
41:12That was great!
41:13Thank you so much!
41:13Feels like I stepped into Adam's world, Adam's dream world
41:17and imagination just being here.
41:20And it's a pretty great place to be.
41:22Lovely to have you.
41:25I did not mind losing to both of those two amazing makers.
41:29We tried to construct a contest that required some ingenuity
41:31and I think that we succeeded
41:33because you've got three grown adults here
41:37who are glowing like a bass drum with a lamp inside.
41:40Hothead!
41:42Woohoo!!
