ABC Song

The "ABC Song" is the most famous song used to recite the English alphabet in order. It is commonly used in English-speaking countries to teach the alphabet to children. The "ABC Song" was first copyrighted in 1835 by the Boston music publisher Charles Bradley. While the melody—which is also used for other children's songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"—originated in a French music book from 1761, the author of the lyrics remains unknown. Songs using the same melody are also employed to teach the alphabets of other languages.
