00:01The European Union's antitrust sheriff is investigating whether Chinese platform Temu received potentially
00:08distortive foreign subsidies with surprise raids carried out last December. The European Commission
00:14said Temu has infringed its duty to actively cooperate on multiple aspects related to the
00:21conduct of the inspection at the premises of its subsidiary Welco in Dublin. Temu rejected
00:26the EU's findings, claiming it cooperated fully and complied with all the requests the
00:32Commission made during the inspection. The EU accuses Temu of not providing information
00:37related to its activities in the EU, its IT tools and the systems it uses. Temu also did
00:43not provide specific books and records on its activities in the EU. The EU's accusation
00:48only relates to the December 2025 inspections and Temu now has the right to reply to Brussels'
00:54concerns. Temu also categorically denied receiving unfair foreign subsidies. The online marketplace
01:00has 130 million users in the EU, nearly a third of the bloc's population, making it one of
01:07the biggest online retailers in Europe.
