Una mayoría en el Senado respaldó la intención del presidente electo, Abelardo de la Espriella, de posesionarse en Cali (Valle del Cauca). La Cámara de Representantes ya había aprobado una proposición en esta vía el martes y con esto, queda sellado el traslado del Congreso hacia esa ciudad para el 7 de agosto.
