00:01The U.S. military announced early on Thursday it had completed a heavy wave of strikes against
00:06Iran, conducted in response to earlier Iranian attacks on a U.S. base in Jordan.
00:12The U.S. Central Command said in a post on social media that over a two-hour period,
00:17the U.S. struck dozens of targets belonging to Iran's Revolutionary Guard,
00:21including military command centers as well as missile and drone facilities,
00:25coastal surveillance and defense sites.
00:28It came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump vowed to retaliate against the strikes on Jordan.
00:34We're going to be hitting them very hard because it's our turn to hit them.
00:37They know it's coming. They're asking us not to do it.
00:40But, you know, they tried shooting it last night.
00:43So we had five rocket shots going 8,500 miles an hour and all five rockets were knocked down to
00:49the ground.
00:50But they nevertheless took a shot. So it's our turn.
00:53And we'll see if we get there with an agreement at some point.
00:57But we're going to hit them very hard.
00:59Iran's state news agency reported hits on several cities in the southwestern Khuzestan province,
01:05as well as on Keshem Island in the Gulf.
01:08Just hours after the U.S. announced its strikes, Jordan reported it had again intercepted five missiles launched from Iran.
01:15On Wednesday, the U.S. also partnered with Saudi Arabia to strike Iran-backed militias in neighboring Iraq,
01:22killing at least 20 fighters and six Iranian advisors.
