00:00She was the sun.

00:03She came into people's lives when there was no light left, no warmth,

00:07when darkness wrapped itself around their souls and cold settled deep inside their hearts.

00:14They prayed to God for sunlight, for warmth, for salvation, and God sent her.

00:23But she was a real sun. Bright, pure, pervasive.

00:29She shone the only way she knew how.

00:33She gave warmth. She brought life. She filled empty places with light.

00:38At first, people were grateful.

00:41They reached for her warmth. They welcomed her light.

00:44They thanked her for finding them what they needed her most.

00:48But then the complaints began.

00:51Too bright. Too warm. Too much light.

00:55It blinded them. It exposed things they would rather keep hidden.

00:59It made them long for shade, for coolness, for relief.

01:04And so, they turned away.

01:07They searched for shelter. They asked the sun to leave.

01:11And the sun left.

01:12Because the sun cannot remain where it is no longer wanted.

01:16It cannot shine halfway. It cannot dim itself.

01:19It cannot become something other than what it is.

01:23It can only move on.

01:25So, it went to the next person.

01:28And the next.

01:29And the next.

01:30Those left behind would sigh with relief at first.

01:34But eventually, they would begin to complain again.

01:37Why is it so cold?

01:39Why is it so dark?

01:41Why doesn't God send me the sun?

01:43They forgot.

01:45It had been there.

01:46They forgot they had sent it away.

01:49They forgot that light never becomes smaller.

01:52It is either welcomed or lost.

01:55They could have built a house with large windows, letting the sun stay close without being overwhelmed by it.

02:02They could have worn sunglasses.

02:04They could have found ways to protect themselves from the heat without shutting out the light.

02:08They could have learned to accept the gift instead of rejecting it.

02:13But they didn't.

02:14They turned away.

02:16They let it go.

02:17And then they asked God once more.

02:19But I prayed for the sun.

02:21Why am I still cold?
