00:00I seek to address this evening is beautiful Indian roots. In the Indian way, the word root does not refer
00:08that much to culture. It rather refers to clarity. Indian roots are not about how we set up our plate
00:17and how we respect our elders and how we gather and the family values and how we celebrate our festivals.
00:24Roots, in the pure Indian sense, refer to the question Koham. Who am I? Why do I say that is
00:32the root? Because every meaningful contribution of India to the world is actually an upward sprouting from that root. It
00:43could be Vedan, Mahatma Buddha, Sant Kabir.
00:46We miss the sights and the sounds and the familiar behaviors and the tastes. Yes, all that is wonderful. But
00:54India, true Indianness runs much deeper than that.
