00:00Carl Fletcher took it as a slight when another Don Callis family member, Kevin Knight,
00:05said that he'd beaten his record as TNT champion without the help of anyone in the Don Callis family.
00:13And Carl Fletcher want to do the same thing with the international title tonight.
00:16But a big risk against Bandido.
00:19Now, elbow strikes, the in-exchange, and Nigel, you mentioned that match this past Wednesday night at Dynamite.
00:26Brody King and Bandido, tag team victory over Kazuchika Okada and Kyle Fletcher.
00:31It was Bandido landing the 21-plex on Kyle Fletcher.
00:36I've scored the tag team victory Wednesday night.
00:39Will that be the same case tonight?
00:41That's always in your head anytime somebody has a pinfall victory over you,
00:47and especially so close to a matchup.
00:49Kyle Fletcher's got to be thinking about it, but really that might give him more motivation.
00:54Great strength shown by Fletcher.
00:56And now looking for that sheer drop brain buster, but Bandido floats over, finds his feet behind Fletcher.
01:01Nice standing switch, though, by Fletcher.
01:03Yeah, you know that match you're talking about. Watch out.
01:06Bandido rolls up.
01:07Two.
01:09Oh, very nearly.
01:11Got Fletcher.
01:13Yikes.
01:14That pin on Fletcher was the first time he had been pinned all year, guys, and it's almost August,
01:18and he almost was pinned a second time right there.
01:22And he knows it.
01:24That's absolutely right.
01:26The first time since the semifinal in the Continental Classic.
01:32Fletcher seemingly, understandably perturbed.
01:35Going to take a little bit of a respite here.
01:37That semifinal match where Fletcher was undone by the Don Callis family.
01:44Fletcher went searching for the screwdriver.
01:46He planted earlier in the day in the turnbuckle pad, but Kazuska Okada found it before Fletcher
01:51couldn't.
01:51Okada used it to earn his way to the finals.
01:55Come on, break it. Come on.
01:57Come on.
01:58Becketing on.
02:00Right into the boot.
02:02Wow.
02:03Feeding the fact that he's got a hookup with him.
02:06Colin Elbow.
02:06Nope.
02:07Flat on the foot, right into the side of the head.
02:10It's a lightning quick.
02:12Top tier.
02:13The golden goose, if you will, of the Don Callis family.
02:17Now, hammer throw into the ropes.
02:19Bandito comes back, ducks underneath.
02:21Bandito springboard.
02:22Oh, but Fletcher ready for him.
02:26Deceptively strong, Fletcher.
02:28Same can be said about Bandito.
02:30Oh, Fletcher goes hard into that top rope, courtesy of Bandito.
02:34Now, Bandito comes around.
02:36He has.
02:37Sends Fletcher to the outside.
02:39Fletcher.
02:41And Bandito's going to go a-fly in here.
02:44If you know it, Fletcher knows it, too.
02:46Yes, he does.
02:47Into action.
02:49Emphatic body slam from Fletcher.
02:53What a commanding presence.
02:57And physique.
02:58And self-belief on the part of Kyle Fletcher.
03:02One of the most can't-miss stars of his generation.
03:08Nigel, small note on this match, but something I do want to point out.
03:12I believe this is the first time we've seen Kyle Fletcher wrestle in full length.
03:16It's wrestling boots like that.
03:18And to adjust your footwear, it may seem like a small thing, but
03:22to adjust your footwear on such a high-profile match, I mean,
03:26it could be a big mistake by Fletcher tonight.
03:28Yeah, it's definitely a factor.
03:29There's no question about it.
03:31I mean, after I took a long, long time away from wrestling, I came back with the traditional
03:36amateur wrestling boots that a lot of people have started wearing in my absence.
03:41I found them much better.
03:43All right.
03:44But the Kyle Fletcher going in the opposite direction.
03:46And oftentimes when people wear those more old-school knee-length boots, they want more protection
03:53around the ankle.
03:54Yeah, more security, absolutely.
03:56Stability.
03:57But, counterpoint, it makes you step differently.
04:00Your gait is changed.
04:02I guarantee you this isn't the first time he's worn them.
04:05Right.
04:05Guarantee you he spent some time in the ring.
04:08Maybe not with those boots particularly, but certainly with another pair.
04:13Same shape, size, and style.
04:17Fletcher now using his knees to great effect.
04:21After Bandito landed some shots in the midsection.
04:23Midsection reverses the hammer throw.
04:25And now, both men's going over the top to the floor.
04:28Looks like Fletcher got the worst of that landing, Tony.
04:30Yeah, Bandito was holding on to the top rope.
04:32Great move by Bandito.
04:33And now, I'm expecting a Bandito to come off, but Fletcher's up.
04:38Whoa, but not for long.
04:41You know, Fletcher?
04:42Still on his feet.
04:43Dave catches.
04:45Bandito, beautiful anti-air.
04:48Bandito crashes and burns.
04:51That move is dangerous enough when you land on your opponent.
04:56But Kyle Fletcher, absolutely perfect timing, lying in weight.
05:01And now, whoa, look at this.
05:02Trying to get on the official, Paul Turner.
05:06The timing and accuracy of Kyle Fletcher with that thrust kick.
05:11So impressive and a reason why he's got such a spotless record this year.
05:20But Fletcher, bad intentions.
05:23Yeah.
05:24He really had people with this before.
05:26And now, again, really hurting.
05:30Bandito deep into the lower back of the ring of honor champion.
05:34Proud here in Montreal letting Kyle Fletcher know what they think about that.
05:38And Fletcher seems to be relishing in it.
05:40Fletcher had looked behind him to tip out where the steel steps were.
05:44Let's take a look at this.
05:45The lower back of Bandito.
05:47And of course, Bandito needs a strong back to be able to hit his 21-plex finishing maneuver.
05:55Great call, Nigel.
05:56I don't think he's going to be able to do it now.
05:58Yeah, Bandito is still struggling on the floor.
06:02And he had a real heart and soul of Lucha Libre.
06:05Literally no idea.
06:06Actually, a fourth-generation star who doesn't shout it from the rooftops and has a quiet respect for the sport.
06:15Now gasping, desperately trying to get some air into his lungs.
06:18Cover.
06:19Now Fletcher, lateral press.
06:22Placing the palm of his hand on Bandito's face.
06:26I don't know.
06:27I'm surprised he took that victory lap around the ring.
06:29I mean, I guess he wanted to show up Bandito as much as win the match.
06:33Now he's rag-dolling it.
06:35Yeah, Full Nelson is in.
06:36Bandito, though, you see with the arms up, still trying to fight off of it.
06:39But now the body scissors and the Full Nelson.
06:41Kyle Fletcher.
06:44Well, there was damage to the neck from the kick on the moonsault earlier.
06:48And with the lower back hurt as well.
06:51Kyle Fletcher, the international champion, is just picking his opponent apart piece by piece.
06:57This is an interesting tactic from Fletcher.
06:59It's not often you see him use submission holds quite like this.
07:03But Bandito gets his foot on that bottom rope.
07:06Perhaps Kyle Fletcher senses some vulnerabilities in Bandito's game.
07:10Yeah, quite possibly.
07:11I mean, he may have just taken a liking for a certain body part.
07:15Sometimes you have that.
07:16You get an instinct.
07:18And you've wrestled as many times and as many people as Kyle Fletcher.
07:25And he's really written the lines here.
07:28Know about it, though.
07:30He's taking his eyes and he's just taking his attention away from his opponent.
07:35And Bandito's trying to bring it.
07:37And Bandito's taking the first swings.
07:40Not enough behind that.
07:41Bam!
07:42Plenty behind that, though, Nigel.
07:44Holy smoke, Lord.
07:46Now the knee across the chest.
07:48Two.
07:49Bandito kicks out.
07:50But Fletcher appearing very, very confident, Tony.
07:57But Bandito can make you pay for overconfidence in the blink of an eye.
08:01We've seen so many things.
08:03The young man would not be this long-reigning Ring of Honor champion without being able to mount a comeback.
08:10I've got to say this, fellas.
08:11If Don Callis was out here at ringside on commentary, I guarantee you he would probably agree with us.
08:17But Carl Fletcher should not be taking Bandito lightly.
08:23Look at a flurry of blows across the back of Bandito.
08:27If Bandito continues to stand up, continues to come back, it's going to get Fletcher frustrated.
08:33I don't think there's any doubt.
08:35Fletcher, as I've said, oh, wait a second.
08:37Bandito, the power.
08:40We talked about just deadlift.
08:43Fletcher up and brings him over the top of the suplex.
08:49That was not only great power, that was a great effort.
08:53Technique and power combined there.
08:56As Bandito, now, you're starting to see where Fletcher may have ruined the decision
09:04to take his attention away from the Ring of Honor champion.
09:08Bandito, up at the ropes, in the corner.
09:11Right hands, no, Fletcher slips free.
09:15Bandito, elusive.
09:19Land's the NZ Geary, and now Bandito, Tarnio.
09:24Those momentum took Bandito off the body-to-body contact with Fletcher, but Bandito now.
09:31A leaping elbow strike, a second one.
09:34Fletcher dazed on his feet, but Fletcher doesn't go down.
09:39That doesn't matter for the challenger, Bandito.
09:42It's unbelievable.
09:43Look at the power.
09:45What time is it?
09:47Oh, my God.
09:47It's what he's saying, John.
09:49Oh.
09:52Listen to this crowd come alive for Bandito.
09:55Yeah, this kid is amazing, guys.
09:58He doesn't like Z or Steele, but he hits a beautiful cross-flash.
10:03Cross-flash, cover, and Nick Fletcher escapes the pinfall attempt from Bandito.
10:12I'm telling you, Kyle Fletcher, I don't know how he got out of that, and I talked to you
10:17about being frustrated about Bandito mounting a comeback that we knew he would.
10:23He's going to do it again.
10:27Fletcher barely moving, but now, oh, yes.
10:29Oh, he's up.
10:30Fletcher springs to his feet, intercepts Bandito.
10:32The elbow strike.
10:34Oh.
10:35This is how he won.
10:35For the brain buster.
10:36How he won the international championship.
10:38Yep.
10:39But if we know that, Nigel, so does Bandito.
10:42Whoa, Bandito.
10:43What's he going to do with it?
10:46What?
10:47Well, Fletcher headholding the chop rope.
10:50Skates to the ring and just levels Bandito with a lariat.
10:54I think Fletcher falling into the ring, the best thing that could have happened to him right
10:57there.
10:58I think Fletcher pulled himself into the ring.
11:00I think this is the worst thing that could happen to Bandito.
11:03I agree.
11:05Fletcher.
11:07Oh, no.
11:08Oh, sheer drop.
11:12Brain buster.
11:13It's over.
11:14Run him in the ring.
11:15Come on now.
11:16Take a count out at this point.
11:18Absolutely.
11:19Already the damage to the neck of Bandito, and I don't know if we can take another look
11:23at that, but that was absolutely devastating.
11:27Just watch the neck.
11:28Imagine your neck is already hurt.
11:32Bandito is, right now, dead weight.
11:35And you saw the wry smile from Kyle Fletcher, knowing that Bandito's goose is potentially
11:42cooked.
11:43You're right here, Nigel.
11:44Take the count out.
11:45You're right, and that's exactly what Fletcher wants.
11:49No shame in that whatsoever.
11:51We need to get some medical help out here for Bandito.
11:55Free Paul Turner.
11:57Leading the count.
12:00I think Fletcher was mouthing too slow to Paul Turner.
12:04Yeah, and then he said, do your job.
12:06You got it.
12:09Come on, Bandito.
12:10Come on now, kid.
12:12Bandito drawing a little inspiration.
12:15Slides in to beat the count, but into the waiting arm.
12:17Kyle Fletcher, Fletcher.
12:18Oh, no.
12:19Fletcher.
12:21Power bomb.
12:22One, two, no, Bandito.
12:27Do not celebrate when you're facing Bandito.
12:31Come on.
12:32What a mistake.
12:34That was close, though.
12:36And Fletcher really hooked him deep, made sure he had his ankles over the shoulders.
12:42The Bandito, but somehow, Ring of Honor's most wanted, refusing to quit.
12:50The Bandito struggling back to a vertical position.
12:54Kyle Fletcher in control, but Kyle Fletcher, a distressing lack of urgency to my eyes.
13:01Yeah, he's been doing this all...
13:03Oh, my God!
13:04Take that back half and half.
13:05Oh.
13:06But he's been doing this all night, Excalibur.
13:08He's been very deliberate.
13:11Again, he's doing it.
13:12He did that parade around the ring.
13:15After that power bomb on the apron.
13:19There's a lot of pride and determination.
13:22Once again, Fletcher giving Bandito the opportunity to get back in the hole in a second.
13:30German suplex, Bandito maintains control of Fletcher's waist.
13:34Fletcher got hurt.
13:35Bandito has never won the international championship.
13:39He's at the Ring of Honor championship, as I've said, for a long time.
13:42And Don Callis, the Don Callis family, has sent his biggest guns to take the title from him.
13:47And they've been unsuccessful in doing so.
13:51And it's that type of tenacity.
13:53Wait a second!
13:54Bandito!
13:56One-to-one dragonplex!
13:59And Fletcher!
14:00I don't know about that, my God!
14:02In this case!
14:03I agree.
14:04I don't know about that, either!
14:07Damn, that was close!
14:09One of the most amazing 21 plexes we have ever seen from Bandito.
14:15Holding on to Kyle Fletcher, that full Nelson.
14:19And then rebounding from the ropes and landing on his feet.
14:23Look at this again!
14:24It was this!
14:26Look at that!
14:27High angle, the net!
14:29Oh!
14:29Kyle Fletcher folded tight against his chest.
14:33Referee Paul Turner's hand, a hair's breadth away from counting three.
14:37But it was that move that spelled the N for Kyle Fletcher on Dynamite.
14:42The N may be coming!
14:44Nice!
14:44Here comes Bente!
14:45Oh, no!
14:48Instead, Fletcher shrugged Bandito off his shoulders.
14:51And Bandito's momentum carried him out to the apron.
14:55But Bandito caught Fletcher square in the gut with his boot.
14:59And now, Bandito over the top.
15:05Oh, my God.
15:07Oh, Kyle Fletcher holding on for his life!
15:10I think Bandito's heels may have gotten caught up on the middle walk,
15:13which provided Fletcher a lifeline.
15:16Bandito, he's not giving up that easily.
15:19He wants this power bomb!
15:21And he got it!
15:23Oh, Fletcher!
15:25Thudding impact on the floor!
15:27Now, unlike what we saw earlier,
15:29Bandito's got to get Fletcher in the ring!
15:32A count-out's not going to help him out!
15:36Title cannot change hand on a count-out.
15:41But Bandito has suffered as much punishment
15:46as Kyle Fletcher, just not as recently.
15:49And, Tony, if you're Kyle Fletcher,
15:51if you told Don Callis,
15:53stay in the back, keep the family in the back,
15:55I want to do this on my own,
15:56so Fletcher could prove a point to Kevin Knight,
15:58and that backfires on him,
16:01that's going to be a huge blow to the confidence of Kyle Fletcher.
16:03Yeah, it's going to haunt Kyle Fletcher
16:05the rest of his career, I would think.
16:07Well, let's not put it into the universe, then.
16:11Bandito taking aim!
16:14What is he thinking, Bandito?
16:17Oh, my God.
16:18No way!
16:19Oh!
16:21Splash!
16:22From the top to the floor!
16:25Can you believe it?
16:27Now, Roleyman, if he can!
16:30My God, I don't want to see a replay of that.
16:32That's going to hurt me.
16:33Roleyman! Roleyman!
16:36And the fans react.
16:38Here we go, roll him in!
16:42Bandito understandably slow to capitalize,
16:44but he needs to capitalize
16:47on that monumental wrist.
16:49That is every bit of 15 feet through the air
16:53and onto those very thin mats on the outside.
16:57How Bandito is, I would continue.
16:58We mentioned tenacity before.
17:00This man has it in world-class spades.
17:04Bandito lines up Fletcher again.
17:08Shot and score!
17:10Stuck it!
17:10One, two, no!
17:14Fletcher remains international champion,
17:17at least for the moment.
17:18I was saying no because I could tell
17:21from the way he hooked that leg
17:22there was not enough body weight
17:24across the shoulder of Fletcher.
17:26If he just got higher up,
17:27we'd have a new champion.
17:29Give Kyle Fletcher a lot of credit, gentlemen.
17:32Holy smokes!
17:33How did he get out of it?
17:34Just watch this.
17:35First on the outside,
17:37the entire body weight into the chest
17:40and back inside.
17:42A very similar impact into the mid-session,
17:46but look at the shoulders.
17:47There's nothing pinning them to the mat.
17:50Right?
17:50That is why.
17:51But back inside!
17:52Back inside!
17:53It's a live-action.
17:53Bandito looking at the 21 plex.
17:55Fletcher clinging on desperately to the ropes.
17:58Fletcher half and half.
17:59No Bandito.
18:00Lands on his feet.
18:01Thrust kick.
18:02Thrust kick.
18:04Thrust kick.
18:06Thrust kick.
18:07Thrust kick.
18:08No Bandito.
18:09Bandito slides off the shoulders.
18:11Challenger on the move.
18:13Thrust kick.
18:16But he cannot cover him.
18:21Wow.
18:29I don't know if I've ever seen
18:31three better matches
18:33in terms of pay-per-view in my life.
18:34Fierce to watch this, though, the incredible agility of Bandido to adjust mid-flight.
18:48Referee Paul Turner now up to seven.
18:57And Fletcher grabbing the boot of Paul Turner,
19:00using it to pull himself forward to Bandido, champion and challenger, head-to-head.
19:06That's just a battering ram, headbutt.
19:15Bandido.
19:16God.
19:17A wind-up, and now Fletcher will wind-up with the elbow strike.
19:24Fletcher.
19:25Come on, come on, come on, hey.
19:26Drawing the flat of his boot into the side of the head of the challenger, Bandido.
19:31Now, right now, Fletcher's livid.
19:32Come on!
19:33They're shrieking and screaming.
19:36Bandido, quick succession of headbutts, drops Fletcher to a knee,
19:39and now Bandido trying to power up Fletcher.
19:44Got him up.
19:49Bandido, perhaps thinking the next knee.
19:52No, Fletcher.
19:54Caught the leg of Bandido, Bandido.
19:56Open hand shots to the neck, but Fletcher just launches the elbow into the jaw of the challenger,
20:02Bandido.
20:03Man.
20:03Champion challenger, given so much.
20:12Fletcher takes aim.
20:15Got the knee to strike.
20:17Got the knee pad down.
20:18Oh!
20:19Oh!
20:21That's it!
20:22Elevates.
20:23Drops it.
20:24And, man!
20:25Very nearly captured the AW International Championship.
20:29Second time, Nigel did not do a good job of covering those shoulders.
20:33You gotta have to understand, though, perhaps with the damage to the head and neck of Bandido,
20:38he's just not thinking fully.
20:41He really thinks he's got the champion beat, but you've gotta hook a leg.
20:45You've gotta fold yourself.
20:46Get the body weight on the shoulder.
20:48Come on, Bandido!
20:50Both these young men have taken so much punishment.
20:53It's amazing they both can stand!
20:56Oof!
20:59Overhand chop from Bandido, tattooing the chest of Kyle Fletcher.
21:04Now Bandido raising up his adversary.
21:11Can't be looking for a big superplex here.
21:14Wow, Fletcher kind of lured him that time.
21:16I thought Fletcher was dazed.
21:19Wait a second, Fletcher.
21:21Maybe look at that turnbuckle brain buster, but
21:25he's got positioned on the outside of the ring.
21:28Yeah, he's maybe trying to do that.
21:30Maybe just trying to throw Bandido out of the ring.
21:32I don't know.
21:33Either way, you may not find out, is Bandido.
21:38Fletcher's coming up, though.
21:40He might have an idea.
21:42Oh, God, this is so...
21:44He's got Bandido.
21:45Oh, look at this!
21:49Block buster from Bandido!
21:51One, two, no!
21:55Oh, Fletcher!
21:56That is nothing but ring sailing right there.
22:00But Bandido isn't stopped.
22:02He's pushing forwards.
22:03Bandido looking for another ex-knee.
22:05Here he comes!
22:06He is so strong as Bandido!
22:09Oh, finds it this time!
22:10The knee square in the temple of Kyle Fletcher!
22:14The temple's putting himself...
22:17Fletcher's putting himself in more danger.
22:19Yes, he is!
22:20He doesn't even realize it in Bandido.
22:22That's Fletcher all lined up.
22:24Twenty-one!
22:26One!
22:27The champion!
22:29One, two, no!
22:31It's three!
22:32Come on!
22:34Oh!
22:35Brock Nigel to his feet!
22:37Many people thought it was three as well!
22:42I don't know, man!
22:44Well, the official decision is final, and I...
22:48Oh, wow!
22:50We'll take how close a look this is!
22:53Watch Turner's hand!
22:55One, two, and...
22:58Oh!
22:58A photo finish with Kyle Fletcher!
23:02That's a good call, Excalibur.
23:04A photo finish is what it is!
23:05Just barely beat the count!
23:10They are going to fight forever!
23:15Fletcher clinging on to the boot of Bandido, trying to keep his challenger anchored to the mat,
23:21but Bandido, a series of shots, hammering at the champion.
23:28Well, not a terrible decision as...
23:30Oh, look at that!
23:31Just raining down fists!
23:34I'm surprised.
23:35I think that's as much frustration for Bandido as anything else!
23:39He came as close as I've ever seen anybody to get a three count.
23:45Fletcher is out on his feet, and again, he's putting himself in the same position, perhaps.
23:50Yeah, we've seen Bandido able to hit that 21-plex from the...
23:54Oh, no!
23:54Fletcher!
23:55Bated Bandido in!
23:57Sure did!
23:58They sure did!
24:00Lines up, Bandido!
24:01Oh, damn!
24:02Oh!
24:03Oh!
24:03How is Charles Fletcher doing this?
24:05Version of a power drive!
24:07Nay, now!
24:08Shear!
24:09Drop!
24:10Brain buster!
24:11Fletcher floats over!
24:13Two!
24:13No!
24:15Bandido's turn!
24:16To the shot!
24:18What a match!
24:21Neither man will stay down!
24:23Amazing!
24:24Hey, there you go!
24:26Hey, there you go!
24:34Fletcher brings Bandido up.
24:37Plants him on the top.
24:39Could be thinking turnbuckle brain buster.
24:44This is how he won the championship earlier this month at beach break.
24:48Can he?
24:49No!
24:49Bandido slips behind.
24:52Ooh, sends Fletcher onto the turnbuckle, stomach first.
24:58It's all Bandido can do to stand up right now, but the fans are drawing to him!
25:04Bandido!
25:05Bandido!
25:06Bandido!
25:07Bandido!
25:25Bandido!
25:28Bandido, though, steadies himself.
25:30Climbs up and, oh, wait a second, Fletcher caught Bandido!
25:33Oh, I don't know what Bandido had in mind, but it wasn't this!
25:37Oh, that's Michinoku driver!
25:41Two!
25:42Oh, again!
25:44On it goes!
25:45Oh, and this freaking match goes!
25:47But for how much longer?
25:49Oh!
25:50Oh!
25:51Kyle Fletcher!
25:52On the move!
25:54The running kick in the corner!
25:59And Bandido in serious jeopardy here.
26:03We've said it before, but this could be the most he's faced thus far as Fletcher.
26:09Oh!
26:09It's hard!
26:10Buckle brain buster, but he missed the top!
26:13He hit the ropes, but it doesn't matter!
26:16Fletcher, Richie, the winner, and still the AEW International Champion,
26:24and the Protostar, Kyle Fletcher!
26:30I'm telling you, over 25 minutes, one of the hardest-hitting title matches you've ever
26:36seen fans standing in the planet, not because they love Kyle Fletcher,
26:40because of what they witnessed in the ring.
26:44And they're going to give it to the Protostar, who did it on his own.
26:48You've got to give it to both, Excalibur.
26:50You certainly do, but Kyle Fletcher remains the AEW International Champion, and Don Callis
26:55out to celebrate, and I'm sure, breathing a huge sigh of relief that the International
27:00Championship stays within the Don Callis family.
27:03But remember, in our opening contest tonight, Nigel, it was Speedball Mike Bailey that earned
27:09the right to challenge for that AEW International Championship.
27:13So Kyle Fletcher will have a title contest with Speedball on the horizon.
27:19Boy, what a match that's going to be, huh?
27:22Speedball and Fletcher!
