01:00Except, as the carriage rattled over the cobblestone roads, Edmund tried not to second-guess his
01:06choices in life. He thought of the horse pulling the carriage. What must it be like to have one
01:13steadfast goal and direction? To stay unerring on one path? Am I even capable of such steadiness and
01:21stability? He had done his best, as well as he thought he could do in his relationships. But
01:28despite all the mistakes, there was only one real regret he had in life. It had been haunting him as
01:36of late, like a ghost of Christmas past. Have a good evening, sir. The carriage driver opened the door
01:43for Edmund to exit. He looked around, blinking. Did I really ask the driver to bring me here?
01:54Edmund was still shaking his head as he walked up the gravel pathway of the Collins' smaller estate
02:00in Lockwood. Finally, at the door, he took a deep breath and knocked. The door creaked open.
02:09Hello? Edmund? What are you doing here? Priscilla blinked, clearly surprised to see her ex-husband on
02:19her doorstep. He hesitated under her gaze. I didn't know where else to go. Priscilla
02:30arched a delicate brow. Interesting choice, she murmured. Then, catching herself, she stepped
02:39to the side. Cut in before you catch a chill. Edmund followed her inside, his steps cautious.
02:48The house was warm, cozy, and inviting, the complete opposite of the coldness he had left behind
02:54at his own estate. The scent of jasmine tea wafted through the air, and Edmund finally felt himself
03:02start to relax. Priscilla led him to the sitting room, where a small tea set rested on a polished
03:10wooden table. She poured him a cup without asking, sliding it toward him before settling in her chair.

07:13time, Edmund felt seen. Without thinking, he reached for her hand, his fingers brushing against hers.

07:32Priscilla, if I could do it all over again. Edmund's voice caught in his throat. Then he abruptly pulled

09:11lingering scent of perfume was all he could find. Cassidy was gone. Cassidy sauntered into the busy
09:19bank, chin held high. She exuded the confidence of someone who had every right to be there,
09:26even as the paper with the forged signature burned hot in her pocket. She approached the counter with a
09:32dazzling smile, placing the forged withdrawal slip in front of the banker.

11:10The banker held up a finger, silencing her as he continued to search the ledger.
