00:20because like I was in the process of getting food right you know we were all talking having a good
00:24time and next thing you know you just hear a couple shots go off and like in my head I'm
00:29not thinking nothing of it because like you know at first I thought it was like some fireworks
00:33then I had to really see it and think boom they're shooting shooting so like I look look around see
00:40if it's like something serious boom I see a crowd of people running in the background so boom I took
00:51off next thing I know it was just everybody was running everywhere people was falling over my
00:58back he was falling over strollers people's hiding it was like everybody was fear for their life and
01:03like I don't blame it because like you know it was supposed to be a chill day for most but
01:09now it's
01:09just some tragic like babies in the hospital people is dying left and right
01:22because after like everything I calmed down yeah I came back in because I thought I lost my keys
01:26so boom and we ended up seeing the kid by the like the center with the stages so boom we
01:32see the kid
01:32and he's like I'll probably say maybe like four or five paramedics are working on him he's just laying
01:37there and then eventually they like lifted him up but he wasn't like they look like he had no
01:43consciousness from it from afar like his arms are just dangling and I feel bad for that kid's family
01:50for sure are you from Seattle or because damn you came up from Tacoma this happened there was one volley
01:59which we heard and I don't know multiple shots but I can't say how many they and then a lot
02:07of people
02:07didn't react at first because we thought oh it must be firecrackers or something I mean nobody thought
02:11that it was dangerous but then there was a second volley and that's when we saw people storming through
02:17the area across the Fisher Pavilion long trying to get south and get out of the the area and so
02:25at
02:25that point all my friends and I we grabbed whatever equipment we had our music equipment and just
02:29started running because we felt like our lives could be in danger at that point and it was the
02:33crowd obviously knew something we didn't so we reacted to the crowd around us and then ran out and
02:39what surprised me is could we uh I mean would you talk with us really quick I mean it's kind
02:48of strange
02:48when you're there the memory is just kind of a flash before your eyes where I see people rushing
02:53in one direction and it's like a instinct or something you just immediately join the crowd and
02:59move in that direction because you realize that they they're moving in a direction for safety and that
03:07sounds like that's a good idea at first how close were you do the international fountain
03:12because that's where it happened and it's such a shame you know to see something like this happen
03:17when people are just enjoying themselves and now you know are people going to be worried about going
03:21to large events I hope not I don't know whether we're going to need some kind of metal detectors
03:27or something I don't know so people feel safer but it's just a shame to see that when everyone is
03:32having
03:32such a great time an hour before the entire festival was slated to end anyway
