01:00We finally did it.
01:01We finished the short film.
01:03It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done.
01:07And I had such an incredible time making it.
01:11I just wanted to say thank you very much for sticking with me.

01:15For those of you that have donated to the crowd funder, I can't thank you enough.
01:19And by the way, I know you're probably expecting perks around about now.
01:23Because we did say we'd do them about now.

01:34But anyway, I thought I'd just come on here and tell you what I've been up to.
01:37I graduated from uni.
01:40Lure was my final year short film.
01:42I did it with an incredible team.
01:44And it went down really well.
01:45We won the best short film at the university, which was brilliant.
01:49And Lure is now being taken to about 17 different film festivals very shortly.
01:53We had a Lure premiere back at the end of July, which was fantastic.
01:57We had Ruben and Leon come down to Brighton and we booked out a historic cinema to do it.
02:02It was so amazing to see the short film that everyone had worked so hard to make finally come to
02:07the big screen.
02:07Obviously, because I've made it and I've spent so much time looking at the footage and doing all the VFX,
02:12I have no ability to tell whether I've made anything good.
02:16But the reaction from the people at the premiere was so heartening.
02:21A good chunk of the audience were visibly in tears by the end of the film.
02:25I don't normally get happy that people have been crying because of something I've done.
02:28But this was the one case where I was like, yes, we've actually made something truly moving.
02:33And this film was always a really big gamble.
02:35It was the most ambitious short film I could think of.
02:38And somehow we've managed to pull it off.
02:40We pulled it off of four and a half grand to make a 23 minute long short film
02:44with some incredibly talented actors and an amazing crew.
02:47I learned so much making Lure, an enormous amount.
02:50And I'm desperate to kind of share everything I've learned and all the mistakes I've made.
02:54We recorded BTS for absolutely everything in Lure.
02:57I'm sitting on gigabytes of footage of BTS.
02:59And right now I'm cutting through it to make it into a proper educational tutorial series
03:04on how to get your short film up and running.
03:06Basically summarizing everything that we learned when making the film.
03:09You as an aspiring filmmaker can follow along and hopefully you can pick up some tips and tricks
03:14and avoid some of the mistakes that we made.
03:16But generally, I'm not going to lie, we kind of smashed it out of the park
03:19and I can't wait for you guys to see it.
