00:00D-Edit is a vertical thriller series about a government that uses AI to edit reality.
00:06And I started writing it after a real-life event I couldn't stop thinking about.
00:11I shot this series in January and February, right after a for any good.
00:16A woman quickly accused of by the government, with no trial, no investigation,
00:23and full immunity granted to the officer.
00:26And I was pretty shaken by it.
00:28Around the same time, the Iranian uprisings were being violently repressed.
00:33The government shut down the internet entirely.
00:36And it was a big digital blackout designed to erase evidence
00:40and to prevent people from talking about ***.
00:43If something truly serious is actually happening, it wouldn't be online.
00:49It would be blocked, scrubbed, gone.
00:52And then came files.
00:54More names, more allegations, and more silence from the people who were supposed to act.
00:59The beginning of the year was tough, and it all pointed to the same thing.
01:05Power rewriting its own story, its own reality.
01:09Democracy can afford a little bit of burnish.
01:11So I started imagining a world where a government could do this systematically.
01:17Rewriting images, videos, narratives, with the help of an AI.
01:22A world where facts are constantly being steered.
01:26Then, just a few days after I finished the shooting, the U.S. started a *** with a run.
01:32And if you have seen episode seven, you would know why I had this strange feeling that
01:38reality was catching up with fiction faster than expected.
01:42They can barely keep the lights on and they want to play *** chicken with us.
01:46Have fun.
