00:09one thing only, big breeze, we've had it in training, let's go racing and see what it's really like.
00:16So the first race here in Lanzarote, we came here for wind and we're getting over 20 knots on the
00:22start line, we're racing in a northly breeze heading towards the shore, but it's great conditions off the start line,
00:28well who would have believed that Sled who started on port in Porto Chervo and really set the world alight,
00:33they've done the same thing again, they've come off the start line on port in a left hand shift and
00:38cross the fleet straight away, great start from Sled, that gives them the early lead, Patprex start nicely too from
00:44the group,
00:45Round the top mark, it's Sled leading from Patprex in 2nd, Platoon Aviation in 3rd, no way back in 4th,
00:51down the first run, it's really close in the end between Sled and Patprex, Patprex jibe off early and are
00:56super quick downwind but through the leeward gate, Sled leading from Patprex, and Platoon Aviation have lost their kite, they're
01:03going to have to quickly set another one, that's cost them, and Trinity have lost their kite at the leeward
01:08gate, the kite is flying like a flag, it's completely shredded, through the finish line then it's a win for
01:14Sled, Patprex
01:14gets 2nd, through in 3rd, Alpha Plus, just pit, Allegra and no way back, get 5th.
01:22Race number 2, the race area has moved a little bit to the east, getting a bit more shelter from
01:27the island, slightly flatter water but great condition still, wind over 20 knots at the start, off the pin end
01:34of the line, it's Prevetza having to shoot to get round the pin end mark,
01:38but they get a good start, but up the first beat, well actually, it's Platoon Aviation which reads the shifts
01:44slightly better, getting round the top mark, with a very very small lead then it's between Sled and Alkaido, round
01:50the top mark, they get to 2nd and 3rd, Patprex round in 4th, down the first run, it's super close
01:55between Patprex and Sled, they're head to head, maximum speed, Patprex slightly quicker, through the leeward gate, Patprex leading with
02:03Sled round in the 2nd, Alkaido in the mix.
02:06Platoon Aviation in contention, but they've lost their kite, that's going to cost them places, and through the finish line,
02:12it's a win for Patprex, Sled gets 2nd, tied on points with 3 points each.
02:17Day 1 has been very much minimising mistakes, keeping the material intact and most importantly, trying not to tear spinnakers,
02:25and I think we saw 5, 6 or 7 spinnakers torn over the course of the day.
02:29So the standings after 2 races in Lanzarote, Patprex leading on 3 points, a 2nd and a 1st, 2nd Sled
02:36also on 3 points with a 1st and a 2nd, so Patprex leading on tiebreak, 3rd Alkaido Vitamina on 10
02:42points with a 7 and a 3, Alfa Plus in 4th, 11 points, and Harmuller Spears Platoon Aviation also on
02:4911 points in 5th place.
