‘NAKAKAIRITA’

Senator-judge Raffy Tulfo raised concerns about inconsistent enforcement of time limits for senator-judges' manifestations during Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial on Wednesday, July 22.

Tulfo pointed out that most senators were quickly reminded when their two-minute limit ended, but some were allowed to speak for much longer. (Video courtesy of Senate of the Philippines)

00:07With the permission of Senator Judge and indulgence of Senator Judge Padilla, what is the pleasure of Senator Judge Rafi
00:13Tulfo?
00:14Walang mic.
So dapat pag sinabing two minutes, two minutes. Pag sa amin, sa majority, pag two
00:36minutes, pinipindot ng pinipindot nito. Dalawa, tatlong beses. Totoo yan.
Pinapayagan. Why? Thank you.
00:53The, um, comments of Senator Judge Rafi Tulfo is recognized. However, the Chair would like to point out that, um,
01:00in the impeachment court, there is no majority nor minority. We are all Senator Judges.
01:07And Senator Laxon earlier, um, requested also an additional time to finish his point, which the Chair, um, allowed.
01:16That's why the Chair reminded Senator Judge Padilla to wind up, because his time already lapsed.
01:21Kaya, kaya nga, Mr. President, I'm sorry, I do have a lot of respect in you.
01:41ng five minutes.
01:42I'm not referring to anybody here now.
Pag sinabing two minutes, two minutes regardless kahit na sino, Senador,
02:01yan. Thank you.
02:02The clerk of court is instructed to kindly relate to the bell ringer.
