00:36End-of-life and scrap tyres from these three streams
00:39undergo a pyrolysis process,
00:42which turns them into two valuable raw materials.
00:45Recovered Carbon Black and tyre pyrolysis oil.
00:49Recovered Carbon Black re-enters Pirelli's tyre manufacturing process,
00:54where it is used in place of fossil-based carbon black
00:57in the production of new tyres.
00:59Tire pyrolysis oil follows a different path.
01:03The recycled feedstock replaces the equivalent amount of fossil feedstock
01:07that is needed to produce the butadiene and styrene.
01:10From here, the ISCC Plus certified mass balance approach is applied,
01:15tracking the recycled attributes step-by-step all the way to the tyre.
01:19After that, butadiene and styrene are used to produce advanced synthetic rubber,
01:25engineered for tyre applications.
01:27Finally, the certified synthetic rubber is supplied back to Pirelli manufacturing,
01:32where it becomes part of new high-performance tyre compounds.
