00:01Hello, how are you today?
00:04Good.
00:05So, I see today that we're going to be doing your preliminary skin assessment.
00:11So, what I need for that is just a little bit of information about your skin
00:16so that I can get a better idea of a treatment plan that would be best suited for you.
00:24So,
00:27So, the first thing I want to ask you is what type of skin do you consider yourself to have?
00:35Do you have dry skin, combination, oily?
00:43Okay, okay.
00:45So, we're going to go ahead and say it's a little bit of combo skin.
00:52Okay.
00:53Okay, and then, since it's combination skin, what areas of your face do you typically find oil?
01:04Okay.
01:06So, T-zone.
01:09T-zone a little bit on the forehead.
01:13Okay.
01:16Yeah, that's pretty typical.
01:17It's okay.
01:18It's not the end of the world.
01:20It's pretty easily treatable.
01:23But, um,
01:25Do you have, um,
01:26acne-prone skin?
01:27Do you break out often?
01:32Okay.
01:33Sure.
01:34Sure.
01:38And, uh, where on your face do you typically break out the most?
01:45A little bit here?
01:47In the-
01:47Along the jaw?
01:49Okay.
01:51Along the jawline.
01:55Okay, good.
01:56And, uh, what are your primary concerns?
02:00What are you hoping to address today or get out of this, um, skin assessment?
02:08Okay.
02:10Okay.
02:11Okay.
02:12So, we're gonna say fine lines and wrinkles.
02:20Uh, we're gonna say a little bit of dry skin, hydration issues.
02:35Hydration, okay.
02:37Hydration issues.
02:40And, we're gonna try to address those occasional breakouts as well.
02:48And, um, breakouts, okay.
02:52Alright, so, I think that is all the information I need from you right now.
02:57So, the next thing I wanna do is I just wanna get a closer look at your skin.
03:02Um, get a better look at what's going on, um, a little bit closer.
03:07And then, after that, I will let you know what I think will be the best sort of skincare routine,
03:14um, any topical treatments we can get for you, okay?
03:18Okay.
03:19Alright, great.
03:20So, it's gonna be a quick process.
03:22It's gonna be painless, I promise.
03:27So, I'm just going to sanitize my hands a little bit.
03:37Okay.
03:39Okay.
03:39So, I'm just gonna have you look forward for me, and I'm just going to get a better look
03:47at what we are working with here.
03:51Okay.
03:54Okay, good.
03:56Your skin is really not bad.
03:58All of the problems that you spoke about are not atypical at all.
04:06And as we age, our skin is prone to changes as well.
04:11So, when you're young, you might find that you have very, um, hydrated skin, if not oily.
04:17And as you get older, you might have a little bit more dryness than you thought.
04:24And, okay.
04:26I'm gonna have you turn your face to the side for me, please.
04:30Okay, good.
04:33Just a little bit on the jawline.
04:37Not bad.
04:38Very, very treatable.
04:41And the other side.
04:46Okay, good.
04:49Good.
04:50So, you said your T-zone gets a little bit oily as well?
04:56Okay.
04:57Okay.
04:59Well, it looks fine to me.
05:01It doesn't look like you have any glaring issues that can't be addressed with topical,
05:06um, ointments or, um, any other serums or something like that.
05:13So, let me, um, go in the back and I will bring you out what I think will be best
05:20tailored for your skin, okay?
05:23Okay, good.
05:28Okay, so to address the first issue with the breakouts,
05:32what I'm going to recommend is that you use a facial cleanser that has, um, some percentage of salicylic acid
05:40in it.
05:40And what that's going to do is it's going to prevent the overproduction of sebum on your skin
05:45and throughout the day you'll find that you do not get as oily
05:49and it just sort of keeps your skin in check if you run on the oilier side.
05:53If you want, you can apply it only to the areas you find are exceptionally oily
05:59but overall salicylic acid is pretty mild.
06:03Um, it's not going to dry your skin out that much
06:06and I think it's going to be the best option for you
06:10in terms of keeping those breakouts at bay
06:14and preventing the production of excess sebum.
06:18So, uh, the next thing you want to do address is hydration.
06:23And the trouble with combination skin is
06:27you want to treat the areas that are dry
06:31but you also don't want to make your skin oily.
06:33So, what I would recommend is using a hyaluronic acid.
06:42And what this is, is it is a molecule that is a humectant
06:47which means it draws water or moisture to wherever it is.
06:53So, if you put this on your face,
06:55it's going to naturally help you retain that moisture in your skin.
06:58And I think that's going to help a lot with those drier areas.
07:03Um, in combination with that,
07:05I would recommend using a, um, gel-based moisturizer
07:12because I don't want to overwhelm your skin
07:15with anything like a heavy cream or something of that nature.
07:19I think that the gel is going to be the best option for you.
07:23It's not heavy.
07:25It won't, um, clog your pores.
07:27Um, this one is by Clinique.
07:31And this is a very light gel moisturizer.
07:41And you can use this in the AM and the PM.
07:44And it's just good for that surface level hydration that you need.
07:52And it's just going to prevent, um, any more breakouts
07:56or, um, you know, blackheads, anything like that.
08:01Okay, so my last recommendation is for, um,
08:06the fine lines and wrinkles that you think you have.
08:09Um, I personally don't think you have them,
08:13but I can't blame you for wanting to act in a preventative way.
08:18Um, it's never too early to start, um, preventative skincare techniques.
08:23Um, and that way you don't have to worry about it in the future.
08:28Um, so what I'm going to say is
08:30I would recommend that you use a retinol.
08:35And a retinol is a great thing to use.
08:39Um, if you're using it for the first time,
08:41I would use it every other day
08:43because it takes a little bit of time
08:45for your skin to adjust to the changes.
08:48Um, your skin can be a little bit sensitive to it at first,
08:52but over time, um, you'll be able to use it every night.
08:57So, um, the reason why I like retinol
09:01is because it increases, um, the cell turnover rate.
09:06So it will essentially work to help slough off, um, dead skin cells.
09:13It will help your skin cells, um, reproduce more quickly.
09:17And over time, it has been shown to prevent fine lines and wrinkles
09:22with continued use.
09:24Um, so I'm going to send you home with that today as well.
09:30And I think that is about it.
09:33That's all I have for you.
09:35You honestly don't have a lot of skin issues.
09:39Um, these are all easily addressable with the products today.
09:44Um, do you have any more questions for me?
09:50Okay, so that's it?
09:52Okay.
09:53All right, so, um, I'm going to send you home with these today.
09:58And I would like for you to come back again
10:01so I can see how you're doing in about, um, three to four weeks.
10:05Um, we can do another skin assessment
10:07and see how everything is working.
10:11Um, so until then, I will see you.
10:14Um, and I will write you a reminder for our next appointment.
10:32Okay.
10:34Okay.
10:42So, I hope you had a nice time.
10:44Um, I hope you feel that this was a productive meeting.
10:48I look forward to seeing how your skin changes with this new regimen.
10:52I am feeling pretty optimistic about it.
10:55I think that these are, um, things that are definitely going to improve your skin care
11:00and the, um, overall appearance of your skin.
11:03But if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to call me, okay?
11:10Okay.
11:11All right, I will see you next time.
11:13And thank you so much.
11:17Bye.
11:18Bye.
