00:25Gold and Tuscan Red through 45 miles of the most rugged and beautiful country in North America.
00:40This three-foot narrow gauge railroad was spiked down between 1881 and 1882 by the Denver and
00:46Rio Grande to tap the riches of the remote mining town of Silverton.
00:50It has been in operation ever since.
00:59Today the riches are found in the incredible scenery and history that lives along the Animas
01:04River as it winds through the Rocky Mountains.
01:07And this historic railroad takes you there.
01:22Three types of steam locomotives power trains on this line including ALCO K28s built in 1923.
