00:00She was in a bus, I was cuddled with my baby at the farm.
00:02Yeah, both of us postpartum.
00:04I've known Lou for years.
00:07We would bump into each other playing the same stages
00:09or having our backstage tents next door to each other at festivals.
00:13I always just knew it was a matter of time before we would work together.
00:17I love the arpeggiations.
00:19I've always been such a sucker for arpeggiations in my own music as well.
00:25And that's her classical training coming through.
00:27And the sort of playful meandering of things while it still maintains a minimalism.
00:41I actually wrote the song and just knew I wanted to hear Lou's voice on it.
00:47And I have always wanted to do a two-part harmony
00:50where it's not the lead vocal and then the background harmony.
00:53It's both voices neck and neck together.
00:57like two horses in a carriage.
01:07Yeah, I think we had our babies within a few days of each other, actually.
01:11Her babysitter is babysitting my baby right now.
01:13It is inspired by motherhood, absolutely.
01:15It's the feeling when you want your baby to go to sleep quickly,
01:19but at the same time, once the baby's asleep, you miss them.
01:22And you can't wait for them to wake up.
01:23That tension there is what the song is about.
01:26Life's pouring on my heart and fury is...
01:30...
