00:01Welcome to the 2026 NBA Summer League from Las Vegas.
00:06It's Championship Sunday and tonight in the championship game is the 4-1 Golden State Warriors against the 4-1
00:13Memphis Grizzlies.
00:15Good crowd on hand and the big names have made their way into the building.
00:19Yaxel Lendenberg has had a tremendous Summer League.
00:23So has Cameron Boozer.
00:25Two lottery picks will go head-to-head tonight and lead their teams possibly to the wearing of a championship
00:32ring
00:32and the conclusion of a fantastic run here at the start of both of their careers.
00:37Hi again everybody.
00:38Welcome to our broadcast position inside the Thomas and Mack Center.
00:42Alongside Corey Alexander, I'm Sean Kelly.
00:45Vanessa Richardson will join in in just a moment.
00:48We've got some star power.
00:49I think I used this word earlier.
00:51There are dudes playing in this game tonight.
00:53We're excited about this championship tilt.
00:55And as far as big stages go, Corey Alexander, this is not the first time that Lendenberg and Boozer have
01:02met head-to-head.
01:03It is not.
01:04These two guys met up in February, February 21st to be exact, to figure out who was the best team
01:09in the country.
01:10They met in Washington, D.C. in the nation's capital.
01:14Cameron Boozer and Yaxel Lendenberg went back and forth.
01:17Lendenberg scored 21 points, Boozer 18, but had seven assists, showed his playmaking ability, and was able to lead the
01:27Blue Devils to a win and also a number one ranking after the big win in Washington, D.C.
01:34D.C. over the Michigan Wolf race, who would, of course, become the eventual national champions.
01:41Certainly, we'll see more head-to-head matches between those two guys.
01:44They put up big numbers for their teams.
01:46There are big reasons why their teams are playing for a championship tonight.
01:50So, Lendenberg and Boozer tonight, we'll see how they manage this stage here in Las Vegas.
01:56Let's welcome in the third member of our broadcast team.
01:58Say hello tonight to Vanessa Richardson.
02:01Guys, it is a new era in the Memphis Grizzlies organization, and Cedric Coward and Cameron Boozer are hoping to
02:07establish a culture.
02:08In fact, Cedric told me pregame that was one of the main goals of Summer League, to prove that they
02:13can win with their style of play.
02:14Cedric told me that style of play is unique, and added he's not going to use the term grit and
02:19grind because that's the slogan of a previous Grizzlies era.
02:22However, he did say the Grizzlies brand of basketball he's trying to help establish does involve that tough style of
02:27play.
02:28And Cameron Boozer, who overheard my chat with Cedric, agreed.
02:31He said they want to play fast, be the aggressor, and outwork their opponents every single night.
02:36Neither Cameron nor Cedric wanted to talk about their individual accomplishments during Summer League.
02:41They both looked at me and said, we only care about winning the championship.
02:45All right, Vanessa, thank you very much.
02:46Both these teams coming off of fantastic performances on semifinal Saturday.
02:50We're all set to go.
02:52Brent Haskell's our crew chief tonight, and we're underway inside the Thomas and Mack Center.
02:56You're starting lineups for each side.
02:58Feature, again, star power out of the rookie class.
03:01And then some guys, too, that have made a jump from year one to year two in their NBA time.
03:07And a three ball to start it, and Hendricks has got the first bucket of the ballgame, and that's how
03:11this one starts.
03:12And that was the key to the Grizzlies winning the first matchup between these two teams last Tuesday.
03:17They made 17 of 32 three-point field goals, so off to a great start for the Grizz.
03:23Here's Lendeborg's first touch.
03:26Missing on the hook, and Boozer will clear the miss.
03:30Style of play will be interesting to see how it goes here in the opening quarter.
03:35Here's Small up top, and he splashes on with three.
03:39He had five of them in the first matchup between these two teams back on Tuesday.
03:42But second chance points, offensive rebound by Cameron Boozer, who had seven offensive rebounds in their semifinal matchup yesterday.
03:51So the three ball was a factor in the first game on the 14th of the month, earlier here in
03:56Las Vegas.
03:57And it's an early factor here.
03:59Six-nothing start.
04:00Step back for Cryer.
04:01And he's got a two ball with the right foot on the line.
04:04L.J. Cryer saying, okay, this is how we're going to play this game.
04:07We're going to take deep shots.
04:08Fine.
04:08He can get involved in the mix as well.
04:11He was four of eight from downtown yesterday.
04:13In the post for the first time.
04:15Hendricks cleans up his own miss.
04:17He's got a second chance.
04:18But already five second chance points for the Grizzlies.
04:21So after their own miss is coming up with the opportunity and have scored on every possession of this game
04:25thus far.
04:26Hendricks, a product from UCF and a Florida native.
04:30Cryer driving kick off the wing here.
04:32Three balls going to be a little bit short for Lendeborg.
04:36So Memphis with an 8-2 start here.
04:39Small to the rack.
04:40Leaves a layup short.
04:41And Will Richard, the Gator, out of there with it in his now second season upcoming.
04:46Into the corner for Cryer.
04:48And he trains one in front of his own bench.
04:51So 8-5 Memphis.
04:57Cryer with five already.
04:58All of Golden State's points.
05:00Off the pocket pass and a traveling violation.
05:15And we welcome those of you joining us on ESPN tonight.
05:19After enjoying WNBA basketball, we bring you inside the Thomas and Mac Center here in Las Vegas.
05:25Championship night of the NBA Summer League.
05:28And a great ball game on tap for us here.
05:30It's got a little sizzle to it, right?
05:32We've got some of the lottery guys playing have shown well Corey Alexander throughout their time here in Las Vegas.
05:38And guys playing tonight, probably good minutes, too, that we've seen already in the NBA.
05:43We've seen Cedric Coward, who was an all-rookie selection this year, had a big performance in the semifinal matchup
05:49yesterday for the Grizzlies.
05:51And he's looking to wear a ring when this thing is over.
05:55Cleanup by E.K.
05:56And he's fouled.
05:57And trying to stick it back inside with the left hand.
05:59You know, we talk about the star power up top with Yaksha Lindemore, Cameron Boozer, the lottery picks.
06:05We've mentioned Cedric Coward, but this is a guy, Graham E.K., who was the WCC Player of the Year
06:12twice at Gonzaga.
06:14He's got an extensive resume coming in.
06:17Went undrafted, signing an Exhibit 10 with the Warriors.
06:21And someone that can absolutely help their big club once we get to the regular season.
06:25He averaged over 17 a game in college.
06:28Here's Cryer, left of the screen.
06:30Left of three a little short here.
06:34And so Coward brings it up here in his first significant touch.
06:38Small off the screen by Hendricks.
06:40Another one down from downtown for the Grizzlies.
06:43And that's the third three already in the game for the Memphis Grizzlies.
06:49And a turnover here on the sideline to allow subs to come in as well.
06:55But the Grizzlies will have possession at a six-point advantage.
06:57But when you look at all the things that make Cameron Boozer special, it's not all about what he does
07:02on the offensive end of the floor.
07:03Defensively picking up at the half-court mark, pressuring his opponent, forcing the turnover.
07:09And again, you're talking about a 6'9 player who is picking up 94 feet, putting pressure on the opponent.
07:18Mayshack is in for his first run.
07:21And he runs it up toward the rim.
07:23Trying to clean up his own miss.
07:25And popcorn's out.
07:27And it belongs to Memphis.
07:30So Cedric Coward is wearing a wire for us tonight.
07:55Cedric Coward is sounding like a true veteran coming in with, of course, a year of NBA experience under his
08:01belt.
08:01Now, the reason why he's the leader in that huddle.
08:04And more importantly, all the younger players tuning in, listening to what he has to say.
08:11Cryer gets fouled here on the drive to the edge of the lane.
08:15Look, you've been talking about Coward all day long.
08:17Like, we've been having conversations in and out about what we might see tonight.
08:21And I don't think there has been a conversation where you didn't mention Cedric Coward.
08:24At 28 points, 9-19.
08:264 of 10 from 3, 4 of 5 from the free throw line to go along with 6 rebounds and
08:305 assists.
08:31In the semifinal matchup, of course, we're going to talk about Cedric Coward a lot.
08:34And he hasn't really been the one getting the offense started for the Grizzlies in this championship game.
08:40Well, that's a muscled-up shot there off the step-through.
08:43LeJay Jones, the seminal, on the finish.
08:46LeJay Jones had a very strong senior campaign in Luke Lauch's debut year for Florida State.
08:53Kubert down the pipe, can't finish.
08:55Had some resistance from Ulbrich at the rim.
08:59Cryer's on the gas here and lost control.
09:06A couple early turnovers here for the Warriors.
09:10Deep 3 off the right side.
09:13Don't look at your hands.
09:16That's all right.
09:18Cameron Boozer has some equity.
09:19He shot 40% from 3 at Duke.
09:22So, an air ball every now and then doesn't hurt.
09:34Disrupted, but Lendeborg sinks the three.
09:43I've watched the video of me getting drafted about, like, 1,546 times.
09:47But, I mean, other than that, that's all I saw.
09:51That's the only reflecting I had.
09:52Like, every day I've had something to do.
09:55Today was the longest day of my life.
09:59Yeah, no.
10:00No reflecting.
10:01Yaxel Lendeborg hits another three.
10:05Three for three from downtown for the number 11 overall kick.
10:08He's got nine.
10:09One thing I'm hoping to show the coaches would be,
10:12I got a little bit of Magic Johnson to my game, you know what I mean?
10:15So, I mean, if they want to play me on the pick and roll,
10:17my step's tired or getting double-teamed, I feel like I can handle that
10:20and, like, throw a couple of dimes.
10:21My defensive ability, being able to guard everybody, you know,
10:25that's something I try to take pride in.
10:27Every day's been very fun, very interesting.
10:30Some were long, some were short, but it's been fun.
10:33I've learned so much through the process.
10:35I'm trying to be 1% better every day.
10:37I'm trying to just become a better person overall,
10:39figure out who I am, and just continue to keep growing.
10:44Extra effort.
10:46Lendeborg ain't missing that.
10:59Welcome back to the Las Vegas Summer League Championship.
11:02I spoke to Yaksa Lendeborg pregame.
11:04I asked him his mentality heading into tonight's game.
11:06He said, I want to be aggressive.
11:07I want to start the game out and attack.
11:09He said, I've been kind of pacing myself to start games.
11:12No pacing tonight.
11:14He said, I want to leave it all out on the floor, guys.
11:18Vanessa, one of the things I've got an opportunity to spend some time with Yaksa
11:21last summer at the Jason Tatum Elite Camp and also the Nike Academy.
11:25And Yaksa has a different level of joy in playing this game.
11:29Did you notice that when you got a chance to talk with him earlier?
11:32Absolutely.
11:33I noticed it on draft night.
11:34We were able to talk to him, Amon Shumpert, Brian Wenhorst, and I on our HoopStreams show.
11:38He was so fun, so excited.
11:40We also, his reaction when he was drafted, genuinely tears in his eyes.
11:44So he's somebody that just loves his game.
11:46He seems to just love to hoop, and you got to love that.
11:48Yeah, Yaksa took a different route to get here, Sean.
11:51So he's a guy that understands that this is a privilege.
11:54It's not a right, and he treats it as such each and every time he steps on the court.
11:58I'm eager to get more to know more about him, that's for sure.
12:01Here's Cooper off the spin.
12:02Tough 13.
12:04Here's Talbot.
12:13Cameron Boozer has a headset on for us over on the Grizzlies bench.
12:17Cam, hi, Sean Kelly, Corey Alexander across the floor from you.
12:21Congratulations on making the championship game tonight.
12:24Yes, sir.
12:25Thank you.
12:26I've known you a long time, so I know you're not concerned about making it to the game.
12:30You're more concerned about winning it, and you've won pretty much every step, everywhere you've been.
12:35How important is this summer league championship for you?
12:38It's very important.
12:39You know, we came here to win.
12:40It's a championship game.
12:41It's a high-intensity game, and we're not playing to lose, so it's very important to me.
12:47By the way, happy birthday a day late, Cam.
12:49Appreciate it, man.
12:50Thank you.
12:50I got to ask, who's older?
12:52You okay.
12:53I'm older.
12:54One minute?
12:55One minute, yo.
12:56There you go.
12:57Man, that's a quick turn.
12:58One minute.
13:00Cam, I'm curious.
13:01I know it's a short amount of time, but in any way, are you different tonight than you
13:05were when you walked into Las Vegas at the start of NBA Summer League?
13:10I mean, I don't think so.
13:11I mean, I feel the same.
13:12Yeah, I mean, as far as maybe picking something up about playing this style of game at the
13:18NBA level.
13:19Yeah, I mean, it's definitely a great feeling to get out here playing with the Memphis
13:22Series is on, but I mean, I feel the same.
13:25I feel confident.
13:26I felt ready coming in, so it's been a great experience so far in the championship game.
13:30We've got to come up with a win tonight.
13:31Well, Cam, last question for you.
13:33The number 27, what's the meaning behind it?
13:36My mom weren't in college, so I decided to go with it.
13:39Sounds good, my man.
13:40Thank you for your time.
13:41I appreciate it.
13:41Thank you a lot.
13:42Have a good run.
13:43Thanks, Cam.
13:47Cam, right to the scorers table.
13:48I mean, seriously.
13:50He was waiting for us to let him go.
13:51I got it.
13:52I'm not going to get a dead ball, because then we'd be in trouble.
13:54Coward for three.
13:55There you go.
13:56Splatched at home.
13:56I mean, the way he shoots with confidence right now, Corey.
14:00His maturity is showing up so much in this Summer League.
14:04And how about this, Sean?
14:05Oh, Smith pillow.
14:08Nice play by Smith attacking the basket, absorbing the contact,
14:12able to finish through the contact opportunity for a three-point play.
14:15As after the main shot, Smith getting downhill, putting the pressure on the Grizzlies defense
14:21to get their defense back in set, but can't build that wall around the basket.
14:27Dave on Smith, maybe six foot tall at the line here to the right.
14:32G-League experience last year.
14:34Well-traveled during his college days.
14:37Four different teams, programs, or as they say in Alabama, program.
14:43But Smith, you know, a variety of experiences will translate here.
14:47That's the norm now.
14:48I understand.
14:49I understand.
14:50It used to be a rarity.
14:52Now that's the norm.
14:53He's got their last five right now.
14:55Here's Boozer into the paint.
14:57Off the turnaround.
14:58Can't get the touch.
15:00Another chance in on the tap out.
15:02Attacks the goal this time.
15:03And more second-chance points.
15:05Another offensive rebound for Cameron Boozer, who always has the stick-to-it of this.
15:11And, again, he is elite, an elite talent, but the way that he plays,
15:16how hard he plays is what separates him from the rest.
15:19Smith again in the rack.
15:20Seven straight points.
15:21Timeout Memphis as a result.
15:23So the Grizzlies have a 9-2 second-chance advantage.
15:26But the advantage for the Warriors right now is Davon Smith.
15:29Davon Smith getting downhill, putting pressure on the Grizzlies' defense,
15:34trying to keep him out of the paint.
15:36And they've been unsuccessful on the last two possessions.
15:42The third pick in the 2026 NBA draft,
15:51the Memphis Grizzlies select Cameron Boozer from Duke University.
16:16Our work, never letting nobody tell you you can't do something special.
16:19The Memphis Grizzlies select Kyle Lowry of Villanova University.
16:28And a career high for Kyle Lowry, 43 points.
16:34He is the definition of pugnacious.
16:36He's made himself his little perennial all-star.
16:39You can never underestimate the heart of an NBA champion like Kyle Lowry.
16:43What a shock by Kyle Lowry.
16:45Kyle Lowry, the all-time franchise leader in assists.
16:50Lowry's falling away.
16:51Kyle Lowry, got it!
16:52Kyle Lowry drills the jumper.
16:54Standing ovation for the greatest rector of all time, Kyle Lowry.
17:00Lowry, Lowry, Lowry, Lowry, Lowry, Lowry, Lowry, Lowry.
17:16Don't miss WNBA All-Star Weekend on ESPN and ABC.
17:20It starts Friday with the Shooting Stars competition and the three-point contest at 8 Eastern on ESPN.
17:25And the All-Star Game comes your way Saturday, 8.30 on ABC.
17:29You can stream both nights on Disney Plus and the ESPN app.
17:35With Vanessa Richardson and Corey Alexander, Sean Kelly back with you from the Thomas and Max.
17:39And we're playing for a championship tonight.
17:41Good start for Memphis and the ball with a five-point lead.
17:44But the Warriors have responded.
17:46They've got nine points off the bench.
17:49Yeah, and it's Davon Smith with seven of those nine.
17:53Isn't that right?
17:54It is.
17:54And speaking of scoring to Rock, especially at the smaller guard position, small now with eight points.
18:00And he's been a big scorer against these Warriors as well as throughout Summer League.
18:06Guess who's going back to the home?
18:08Have a night so far.
18:10You know, at some point, you may have to think about trapping him because any time he gets a screen,
18:16he's going to get downhill.
18:18He's got the last nine for Golden State.
18:21Coward trying to finish right of the rim.
18:23Cleared out of there by Lindeborg.
18:26Tried to thread the needle and just missed EK on the streak to the cup.
18:31But that's a thing that will happen when you get that chemistry.
18:34EK not even recognizing that Lindeborg was throwing that basketball and passing it to him in transition.
18:42If EK's looking for that one, it most likely results in a dunk.
18:45Chance McMillan in for his first run.
18:47He's defending small up top.
18:49Short roll to Boozer.
18:50Met in the lane with some resistance.
18:53Keeping his verticalic, it was EK.
18:56Richard to Lindeborg.
18:57And the lane is good.
18:58And you may see that during the regular season.
19:00Yeah, not a traditional fast break, but it results in two points, and that's the only concern for the Warriors.
19:07Richard and Lindeborg on the floor for the first time tonight together.
19:11These are a couple of guys, the two most recent NCAA champs.
19:15Go spare to the rim.
19:17Nice hero to the rack to finish off the win.
19:19And a nice bump fake to get EK in the air, thinking the shot was going up the additional step.
19:26Think about this.
19:27Cryer's out there, too.
19:28Richard, Cryer, and Lindeborg, as Richard throws it away here, all have played on the biggest stage in college basketball.
19:37They all come into this championship tonight having won, at some point, an NCAA championship.
19:44Cryer had two cracks at it.
19:45Did it with Baylor.
19:46Failed to do so against Richard and the Gators two years ago.
19:50And Lindeborg attempting to be only the second player ever to win a national championship in college and win a
20:00summer league championship at the NBA level.
20:03Back in 2015, Tyus Jones was able to do it at Duke and with Minnesota Timberwolves.
20:09These are trying to lead Hendricks here in a foul called.
20:14We mentioned Brett Haskell is our crew chief tonight.
20:17Nick Kearley and Chalisa Painter also on the whistle tonight.
20:20This is a big night for the officials as well.
20:24Culmination of their work and the evaluation that went into this year's summer league here in Las Vegas.
20:29Lindeborg with a steal.
20:33And with contact, lays it up and in.
20:35I mean, absolutely trucked Javon Small.
20:39That was not trucked.
20:40He barely nipped him.
20:41Come on.
20:41And Small was trying to lean into Lindeborg on that possession.
20:46Great job by the officials not making a call on that possession.
20:50Maybe Shaq runs it up over the bigs.
20:52In and out.
20:53That did everything even go in.
20:54By the way, this group of officials are one of the best groups in the G League.
20:58We oftentimes see them during the G League playoffs and finals.
21:01So, glad to see them getting the promotion here for the summer league championship.
21:05And Krier kept it in play here in a double dive to the floor.
21:11Now, the actual Lindeborg doing a tremendous job.
21:14You think this is trucked?
21:16Are you kidding me, Sean Kelly?
21:18He barely touched him.
21:20All right.
21:21Next dead ball, you go out there.
21:23I've got two new hips.
21:24I don't go out there anymore.
21:26Those days are over for me.
21:28And I would have got out the way much earlier.
21:32Andre Iguodala yesterday was on the semifinal coverage with our good friends at Amazon Prime.
21:38And he talked about how he figured out in his career, I'm not taking hits like that anymore.
21:43No.
21:44It only takes one.
21:46May Shaq a little long here.
21:48How about Boozer hustling it off the baseline?
21:50Small for three.
21:52A little strong.
21:54And Krier will settle it down here.
21:56Shot clock's dark.
21:58Krier, the veteran, will make sure that the Warriors get the last shot of the quarter.
22:03You don't want to give the Grizzlies the basketball back with an opportunity to build an elite.
22:09Krier from the top of the key.
22:11Knocked it down.
22:123.6 on the clock.
22:14He'll win a little early.
22:15Gives the Grizzlies a chance.
22:17Hendricks.
22:20Misses at the horn.
22:22One-point game at the end of the first.
22:25Strong first quarter for both these teams.
22:29Davon Smith attacking the basket.
22:32Off to a great start offensively.
22:35And Cedric Howard with the step-back three-ball.
22:38Corner pocket.
22:39Welcome back.
22:40I'm joined now by Davon Smith.
22:42And Davon, nine points for you so far.
22:44How were you able to come in and really make an immediate impact?
22:47Just staying ready.
22:48You know, my teammates have got me ready for these moments.
22:51I haven't played every game.
22:52You know, this is an opportunity to, you know, showcase my talent and everything I work for.
22:56Just how to give credit to my teammates and, you know, my hard-working guy.
23:00Defensively, what's the key against a Grizzlies team that has a lot of guys that can get hot?
23:04Those guys are well coached.
23:06They play very fast.
23:07You know, keeping them out the paint and then making them shoot the shots we want them to shoot.
23:11Davon, thank you.
23:12Davon, thank you.
23:13Guys.
23:14And Vanessa, thank you.
23:15Grizzlies led by as many as eight in the first.
23:17Warriors have yet to see a lead.
23:19Smith couldn't finish this time.
23:21Again, he was a big part of the Warriors' attack in the first quarter.
23:24What else did you take away from the opening ten minutes?
23:26Well, we just saw a different coverage from the pick-and-roll standpoint against Smith because he was able to
23:31have so much success.
23:32But that's what I saw in that first quarter.
23:35Davon Smith able to get to his spots, attacking downhill, forcing the Grizzlies to change.
23:40My guy, Eric Schmidt, over there coaching up the Grizzlies during their summer league and changing the coverage after watching
23:48Davon get downhill early and often.
23:52Yeah, he's only missed one time.
23:53He just saw the miss.
23:54And that was the second pick-and-roll of that possession.
23:56The first one, they did a tremendous job defending it.
23:59The second couldn't keep them out of the paint once again.
24:01Here's Buzer.
24:02There's a skip pass over the top.
24:04A little pump fake by Hendricks, but runs into EK.
24:07And a step on the boundary will be a turnover here for the Grizzlies.
24:10And those are the plays that Hendricks, after Buzer draws the double team, Hendricks won't hesitate to take that shot.
24:16We've already seen him knock down the three-ball earlier.
24:18By putting it on the floor, he gets himself in trouble and ends up turning it over.
24:22A little higher on the pickup point here by the Grizzlies as well.
24:26Omax Prospert taking on the challenge of guarding O.J. Cryer.
24:30Cryer's got started well with two threes.
24:32And now you see both of the smaller guards on the floor for the Warriors
24:35because they've been pretty much all the offense.
24:38Shot clock at four.
24:40Here's EK over the shoulder and hooks it in.
24:43First lead for Golden State.
24:45And EK with 16 points in that semifinal matchup.
24:49Did a tremendous job in the painted area.
24:53Six of 10 from the floor, but also had 11 rebounds in that matchup.
24:57Buzer for three straight away.
24:59A little much.
25:01Cryer comes out of there with it.
25:02Puts a defender on his back.
25:05Finds Leone's ahead for the layup.
25:08I don't know how he saw him.
25:10L.J. Cryer limping back down the floor.
25:12Buzer's able to get the dunk, but concerns for L.J. Cryer right now.
25:16Limping around.
25:17I believe they're going to get a sub in for him.
25:20We'll use a timeout to do it.
25:22Stopping play at 8-18 to go in the first half.
25:26That's a big situation right now in the championship game for the Warriors.
25:38With the 11th pick in the 2026 NBA draft,
25:42the Golden State Warriors select Jaxel Lendeborg
25:46from the University of Michigan.
25:55We'll be right back.
26:32We'll be right back.
27:06Welcome back to Vegas.
27:08Timeout called here by the Warriors to get Cryer out of the game, Corey, because of this.
27:12He gets tripped up on Hendricks' foot, but you watch his right foot as he steps on the foot of
27:18LeJay Jones,
27:18and that's the one that did the damage.
27:22L.J. Cryer averaging 15 points per game in Vegas Summer League.
27:26And someone who, talking with Raymond Ritter, of course, the superb Publisher Relations Manager for the Golden State Warriors,
27:37let us know that Cryer could find himself with minutes this year, especially with the injuries to Moses Moody's, Jimmy
27:43Butler,
27:44who most likely won't start the season.
27:54But once again, Davon Smith making plays this time as they take him out of the offensive action.
28:00He's able to find Leone over the top of the lot.
28:03He'll move the dribble handoff here.
28:06He set the floor with small at the top.
28:09Find Hendricks back in front of his own bench, and he's got a good look again.
28:13He loves shooting off that right wing.
28:14But that's the same shot that he passed on the previous possession when Boozer threw the skip pass.
28:20Hendricks has a lot of confidence in that shot.
28:22He's got to know when to let it go.
28:23First rounder from a couple years ago involved in the Jerry Jackson trade.
28:27And Leone's again at the rim to finish, this time off the spin.
28:31And Memphis wants to talk.
28:33But Eric Smith's not happy at all about Davon Small getting to his spots,
28:38even with the hard hedge to try to keep him out of the painted area.
28:43They forget about the screener for the easy bucket
28:47as we get a great look walking down the strip and some rings and things.
29:03It's my brother, Caden, my brother, Karmani, my twin brother, my older brother.
29:06It's the boys, man.
29:07And I wouldn't be here without these two, my parents.
29:10So shout out to them, man.
29:11In our family, we all just want to reach the highest levels of whatever we're doing.
29:15More competitors, we want to win.
29:16And that's what it takes to get here.
29:18His biggest inspiration to get here was just wanting to be great.
29:21And I think watching my dad, you know, the teams he played for was part of growing my love for
29:24the game.
29:24That was a big part of me getting here.
29:26This kid probably hoped he would be in the NBA.
29:28I don't think he knew, but it's here now.
29:30I mean, honestly, I can't even explain the feeling.
29:31I've been enjoying mine my whole life.
29:32It was just amazing, honestly.
29:34You're going to look good in a Grizzly jersey.
29:37God, I knew it.
29:38I knew it.
29:40Where did you guys get the picture?
29:41Now that everybody saw it, I was swaggy, though.
29:44Like, you can't say I was not swaggy.
29:46I got that hat.
29:47I feel like I've been swaggy since I was born.
29:49I'm still swaggy now.
29:50I've tried a lot of different styles.
29:53You know, some were amiss, but never in my life would I have thought that I'd be able to be
29:58a professional athlete playing basketball representing my country and my mom in this way.
30:02This kid thought that he would be playing video games for a living.
30:05She literally forced me to play basketball.
30:08Just being able to keep that dream alive and let the spirit live, it means everything.
30:12We did it.
30:14I've been NBA.
30:16Congratulations.
30:28We got some good looks that didn't fall.
30:30We're okay.
30:31Defensive man, that was a tough shot.
30:33But we're kind of making it a little hard on ourselves.
30:35Just make the simple play.
30:36If somebody's in the post, we've got to have a cutter.
30:39We can't have four guys out.
30:40It doesn't matter who cuts.
30:42It's somebody cutting and getting the dunker.
30:45I love the message from Cedric Coward.
30:47The only problem I didn't like is what he said.
30:49We're kind of making it harder.
30:51As he grows in this game and becomes even more veteran, as he knocks down the three ball, great execution
30:57out of the timeout.
30:59He kind of will get out of that sentence.
31:01We're making it harder on ourselves and he'll have a little more pace in his voice in year two and
31:06three.
31:06He's on his way to being a leader.
31:09And just speaking up, his leadership in itself.
31:11And if you look back to last summer, you kind of get the reasons why Memphis traded up to get
31:18him at 11.
31:20By the way, you just said kind of.
31:24I kind of know what I'm doing.
31:26That's open for debate.
31:28Max Jones Prospera with a missed three.
31:31Davon Smith out of there with it.
31:36Jones directing traffic and a little jiu-jitsu working here between Cooper and Olbrick.
31:50Hendricks back in pretty quick.
31:51That was a very short rest for him on the Memphis side.
31:55Lendenborg back on the floor.
31:56Got to get Small a little bit of a break.
31:59But these two guys have been special, especially from beyond the three-point arc throughout this game.
32:05Both Small and Hendricks with multiple threes made.
32:07But if you look at the field goal attempts, 32 field goal attempts for the Grizzlies.
32:12So only 22 from the Warriors.
32:14Nice slip by Olbrick and draws a foul from the hope defender.
32:18But the Warriors have made 15 of their 22 shots shooting at 68.2%.
32:24Efficient.
32:25Very efficient.
32:26I would agree.
32:28Do you kind of agree or do you agree?
32:29No, I fully agree.
32:31No kind in the mix.
32:32Kind in the mix.
32:33A little Robinson.
32:36What a great story about Robinson, by the way.
32:39You know, he was the assistant to the head coach.
32:41And then now has become an assistant coach over the last two years.
32:46Gets in the organization under Steve Kerr.
32:49Steve Kerr, from what I've been told, I find this to be very accurate,
32:54loves developing young guys in the game.
32:57From what you've been told, we've talked to Steve Kerr all the time
33:01on our ESPN radio gigs.
33:03We've had a million Golden State games.
33:05What do you mean, from what you've been told?
33:09You talked to Steve Kerr all the time, too,
33:10but we've never had a direct conversation about it.
33:13Hey, Steve, by the way, tell me more about your philosophy
33:16on developing young assistant coach.
33:17He's normally mocking P.J.
33:19Colisimo.
33:19I mean, that's his go-to.
33:21It's almost too easy.
33:25By the way, we wish P.J. the best.
33:27We wish he was with us this week.
33:29My wallet is thankful he's not.
33:30No.
33:33P.J. picks up the tab.
33:34He does.
33:35He does.
33:36One point of fare here, despite that very efficient shooting
33:39by the Warriors, and now Memphis back on top, just like that.
33:42But Cedric Coward being much more aggressive after that timeout.
33:45You hear him talking to his team, but again, we love his actions.
33:48It's not all about what he's saying.
33:50It's about what he's doing.
33:52Smith put it on the shoulder of his teammate.
33:54That's going to be a turnover here.
33:57This is messy to the other end.
33:59Mayshack trying to finish.
34:00He's going to get fouled by the accident of Lendeboer.
34:05My Mayshack out of Riverside, California.
34:08He's 23 now.
34:11I saw enough of him in that Tennessee Sherbert Orange.

34:31And Shaq's in time with a two-way deal.
34:33Missed the free throw here.
34:36Smith is out of there with it.
34:37And Smith has got a bigger responsibility now with Cryer on the sideline.
34:41We have yet to get an update on his ankle here in the first half.
34:44And Smith continues to be aggressive, driving downhill.
34:48At that time, a great pass.
34:51But Richard unable to finish on the reverse.
34:54Boozer in transition.
34:57And a takedown, a loose ball foul in the paint here
35:00as the ball came off the front of the rim.
35:03Yeah, I believe Olbrich will pick that one up
35:05as Cedric Coward's going in to try to get an offensive rebound.
35:12There's L.J. Cryer returning.
35:14Here's another look.
35:15Get a look at Olbrich as he allows Coward
35:19to pretty much run past him
35:21but then decides to grab him at the last minute.
35:25Looked a lot worse in full speed than it does.
35:28The Australians are not afraid to be a little physical.
35:32Okay?
35:32I mean, that's where you play rugby.
35:34Can't be afraid.
35:37Boozer unable to finish.
35:40Boozer in this one.
35:41Two for seven now with four points.
35:44Here's the matchup.
35:48That's a win for Boozer forcing Lindenburg to settle on the perimeter.
35:54Coward a bit out of control, losing the handle.
35:56Long outlet pass.
35:57Richard, two on one here.
36:00Hesitated.
36:00And the ball popped out of his hands.
36:02He'll save it at half court.
36:06Richard off the crossover.
36:08Find the shooter.
36:10Couldn't finish it.
36:11Beautiful split from Richard to get into the painted area.
36:15Makes the right read.
36:17Just unable to get the three to go
36:19but that's the type of ball movement you love to see
36:21especially if you're a Warriors fan.
36:23It was what Richard did in Las Vegas last year
36:26that got him a spot with the Golden State Warriors
36:28and he went on to play 69 games.
36:31Here's what I'm thinking.
36:32It's not as much on the floor.
36:33You mentioned Raymond Ritter.
36:35Raymond called me after Summer League
36:37knowing that I had spent the season with Will Richard at Florida.
36:40He said, Will Richard conducted himself as a pro.
36:43He was great with the media, great with his teammates.
36:46Is that the real thing?
36:47I said, that's exactly who Will Richard is.
36:50And so the Warriors left Las Vegas last year
36:52with that impression of Will Richard off the floor
36:55that helped him get to camp and be a member of the team.
36:58Absolutely.
36:59And again, when you're talking about guys coming in
37:02and trying to find their way onto a roster
37:03and into the rotation
37:05being a great teammate absolutely helps.
37:08You have to have the support of guys like
37:11Steph Curry and Draymond Green
37:13to be able to get into the rotation
37:16and allow Steve Curry to trust you
37:19which is the important thing
37:21for all young players coming into the NBA.
37:25A couple of subs coming in.
37:28There's Raymond Ritter.
37:31Would you say it was the best public relationship?
37:34Yeah, I'm going to go with the best.
37:35There's going to be a few people
37:36that might be upset about that
37:38but you know what?
37:39Raymond brings me M&M's.
37:40So when it's all said and done
37:42every time you check into the hotel
37:43doing a Golden State game
37:45Raymond brings me peanut M&M's
37:47I'm sorry.
37:48I can be bought.
37:50Well, no, just game recognizes me.
37:52That's it.
37:53He's the best.
37:55Parker, we had a crisply played first quarter.
37:57We're in the mud a little bit here in the second.
37:59Is there some kind of reason
38:00why we've gotten disjointed?
38:01Well, both teams have felt each other out.
38:03They understand what their opponent
38:06is trying to accomplish,
38:08how they want to do it.
38:09So now with the scouting report
38:11being more realistic,
38:12they've stepped up the level of physicality
38:14which we've seen a few more whistles.
38:17Pryor draws a switch defensively.
38:19Finds Lindeborg.
38:21Shot clock down to two.
38:22To the rack, right up in and one.
38:25So special.
38:25We called out the possession earlier
38:28where Cameron Boozer was able
38:31to force Yaxo Lindeborg
38:32into a rushed three-point shot.
38:35This time, Yaxo does not settle.
38:38Drives at baseline.
38:39Gets downhill.
38:40Absorbs the contact.
38:41And able to finish
38:42an opportunity for a three-point play
38:44the old-fashioned way.
38:45Second foul on Boozer.
38:51If you've been watching
38:52the Summer League all week,
38:53we've had the special
38:54free-throw rules in effect.
38:56We call them the G League
38:57free-throw rules.
38:58Not so tonight
38:59in the championship game.
39:01Three-point play
39:02the old-fashioned way there.
39:03We'll see guys shoot
39:03their free-throws
39:04as you normally would
39:05during an NBA regular season game.
39:07Step back for Boozer.
39:09A little short.
39:11He's had some looks.
39:12He's just not quite
39:13gotten it going yet.
39:14He's missed six times.
39:15But that's what Cedric Cowher
39:17was talking about
39:17in the huddle.
39:19He made it clear
39:19that they've gotten good looks.
39:21Just hasn't been able
39:22to knock them down.
39:23He's stick with the script.
39:24Land the board.
39:25Second chance.
39:26Good.
39:29And that's one of the things
39:30you love about Yaxo.
39:31His emotion.
39:33And he wears it on his sleeve.
39:34He lets you know
39:35how important it is
39:36not only to be successful
39:38at this game
39:38but to love it
39:39and be able to play it.
39:417-0 run
39:42working for Golden State.
39:43Boozer for three.
39:45That'll help.
39:46Great find by Small.
39:48The nice read
39:48off of pick and roll coverage.
39:50As you see the low man
39:51tag, the roller,
39:53you know that opposite side
39:55is going to be open.
39:56Delivers a strike
39:57and Boozer is able
39:58to knock down the three ball.
40:04skip pass for Cryer.
40:06Out of the corner
40:06for the lead.
40:07Got it.
40:09I think the ankle's
40:10just fine here for LJ.
40:11I believe so.
40:12And now you're starting
40:13to see the reason
40:14why these were the two
40:15best teams
40:16in Samba League this year.
40:17The way they share
40:18the basketball.
40:19Locked the rim
40:20and alley-oop dunk
40:22finish there by Coop.
40:23And another example
40:24of sharing the sugar.
40:27Small with back-to-back plays
40:29to set his teammates
40:31up for success.
40:32Five rebounds now
40:33for Small.
40:34A rebounding guard
40:35to help set that up.
40:37Whistle will stop play
40:39at 1.36 to go
40:40here in the first half.
40:42One double-figure score.
40:43That's Cryer.
40:44He's got 11.
40:45Small started hot.
40:46He has eight.
40:48But both those guys
40:50you're talking about,
40:51Cryer and Small,
40:53both walking
40:54a little gingerly.
40:57Small paying attention
40:59to something
41:00after the last possession.
41:05Cryer finds E.K.,
41:07puts it up over Cooper
41:08and got contact
41:09over the line.
41:10Two free throws
41:11coming at 1.28.
41:13Easy call
41:14for Brett Haskell
41:15on that one.
41:19Cooper just a little
41:20too aggressive
41:20getting to the body
41:21of E.K.
41:23in the midst of his,
41:25I don't know
41:25if that was a hook shot
41:26or called a push shot.
41:28Regardless,
41:29too much contact
41:31sends E.K.
41:31to the free throw strike.
41:33E.K.,
41:33double-double
41:34in the semifinal
41:34yesterday,
41:35the win over the Lakers.
41:37And for the record,
41:38the free throw rule
41:39still applies.
41:40I'm sorry.
41:41Until we get to the final.
41:42Until the final
41:43two minutes
41:43of the game.
41:45So that one shot
41:47was for two points
41:48for Graham E.K.
41:49Small again
41:50trying to get
41:51a sixth assist
41:52and Cooper
41:52trying to climb
41:53the ladder
41:53draws a foul.
41:54Yeah, E.K.
41:55didn't want to see
41:55another bob
41:56going above his head.
41:58Small doing a great job
41:59penetrating the painted area,
42:01tossing it up.
42:03But the contact
42:04doesn't allow Cooper
42:05to get to the rim.
42:06He's going to have to earn it
42:07at the free throw strike.
42:17Bradenton, Florida.
42:19Michigan State product.
42:20Knocks it down for two.
42:21Back to a one-point affair.
42:24Now this is the versatility
42:25of a Yaxo Lindenbord.
42:27His ability
42:28to be able to play
42:2894 feet,
42:30find his teammates.
42:33Thought that would be
42:34an assist.
42:34But now the second chance
42:35points.
42:36Is that Will Richard
42:37getting in the mix?
42:38It's his first bucket.
42:39Yes, sir.
42:40And his second rebound.
42:42But look at the other end.
42:44Cameron Boozer
42:45facilitating.
42:45And that's one of the things
42:47you get,
42:47the versatility
42:47of both these players
42:49taking in the lottery.
42:51Have the ability
42:52to play that
42:53point-forward spot.
42:54So not guys
42:55that are only looked at
42:57as power forwards,
42:59but point-forwards as well.
43:05Duke looked pretty good
43:06when he would handle it
43:07outside of the yard,
43:08didn't they?
43:08Well, he let him in assist.
43:09Yeah.
43:10Yeah, no,
43:10they looked really good
43:11when he was handling
43:12the basketball.
43:13Deep shot clock three.
43:15Knocked down for Coward.
43:16And the Grizzlies
43:16look really good
43:17when Cedric Coward
43:18is getting looked.
43:21Three-point shots
43:23a factor now.
43:23Grizzlies have nine
43:24made threes
43:25to Golden State's three.
43:28Lindenbord
43:28triumph for one.
43:31Soft off the front
43:32of the rim.
43:32Cleared here by Memphis.
43:35You could call that
43:36a two-for-one attempt
43:37from Yasha Lindenbord.
43:39Not really
43:41enough time there
43:43to go two-for-one,
43:44but still
43:44a possibility
43:45that they get
43:46the basketball back
43:47with a short clock.
43:49Golden State
43:50looking to have
43:50this thing tied.
43:52Small through three
43:53in the lead.
43:56Rebound.
43:58Ricochets off Richard.
43:59To Leons
44:00at the horn.
44:01He's short,
44:02and we're no better
44:02than when we started.
44:03All tied
44:04at 47 here.
44:06Coward with 11.
44:08Cryer with 11.
44:09Those are your leaders
44:10here at the brink.
44:12Great action
44:13in the first half.
44:15Cameron Boozer
44:15knocking down
44:17the three-ball,
44:18and on the other end
44:19of the floor,
44:19Yaxl showing his strength,
44:21able to get to the rim
44:23and finish.
44:31championship night
44:32here in Las Vegas.
44:33Got a great crowd,
44:34and we have a tie
44:35ball game here
44:36with two quarters
44:37to play.
44:38Rings and trophy
44:39on the line.
44:40Welcome back
44:40inside the
44:41Thomas and Mack Center.
44:42Waltese back
44:43on the floor
44:43when we wait
44:44at the start
44:44of the third quarter,
44:45and Corey,
44:46I want to shine
44:47a spotlight
44:47a little bit here
44:48on Yaxl Lendeborg,
44:49his first half of play.
44:51What did you see?
44:52What was his impact
44:52through the first two quarters?
44:54Well, I love the way
44:54he competed to start with.
44:55I love the way
44:56he was defending,
44:58guarding Cameron Boozer,
45:00a young man
45:00who has beaten him
45:01twice,
45:02once at Duke
45:02and once earlier
45:04this week.
45:04So Yaxl locked in
45:06on the defensive
45:06end of the floor,
45:07meeting Boozer
45:08with physicality
45:09and challenging him
45:10on every possession.
45:12And of course,
45:12we know Yaxl
45:13can get the job done
45:14on the offensive
45:15end of the floor.
45:16Getting out in transition,
45:17able to finish,
45:18and then driving
45:19to the rim,
45:20finishing through contact
45:21for the and one.
45:23Nine first half points
45:24for Lendeborg,
45:25but also doing
45:26the job defensively.
45:27No doubt.
45:27He's a big reason
45:28why that the Warriors
45:29are winning the paint,
45:3032 to 18.
45:31That's at both ends
45:32of the floor.
45:33So 47-47
45:35and Golden State's
45:36got the first touch
45:37here in the third quarter.
45:39Old teams 4-1
45:41in their five games
45:42here in Las Vegas.
45:44Only loss for the Warriors
45:46was to the Grizzlies
45:47and that was a 21-point
45:49beatdown on Tuesday.
45:51So the Warriors
45:52take an exception to that
45:54and trying to get
45:55some retribution.
45:57Howard and Cryer
45:58in the flip race
45:59here for the tip ball.
46:01It'll stay with the Warriors
46:02and 9 on the shot clock.
46:03You can see Cryer
46:04still a little gift.
