00:30In a post on Facebook, Kuala Lumpur City Hall expressed disappointment over the mess,
00:35and said the field will be cleaned up. It added that the cleanliness of Kuala Lumpur
00:39should not always depend on someone else cleaning up after we have gone home.
00:44DBKL said, Dataran Merdeka is a symbol of the nation's pride and history,
00:50adding that the way people left it reflects how much they value it.
00:53It also said the freedom to celebrate doesn't mean the freedom to litter,
00:57urging Kuala Lumpur residents to care for the city as they would their own home.
01:02Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeo also weighed in,
01:05saying she was disappointed to see the square left in such a state
01:08after Malaysians had gathered there to celebrate together.
