00:07When Disney developed Beauty and the Beast,
00:09Howard Hachman and Alan Mekken wrote a song entitled "Human Again".
00:14It takes place after Belle arrives at the castle.
00:16Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and all the other enchanted objects
00:20They sing of their hope to finally become human again.
00:22The song lasts almost 7 minutes and shows that the inhabitants of the castle
00:27They gradually rediscover their joy of living thanks to Belle.
00:30But a major problem arises.
00:32The script is still being modified and the age of the beast is changing during production.
00:37This development makes some of the dialogue inconsistent with the rest of the film.
00:41In addition, the directors feel that the pace slows down too much before the second part of the story.
00:46They therefore decided to delete the sequence entirely.
00:49And for more than 10 years, the song remained in the Disney archives.
00:53And in 2002, the studio took advantage of the IMAX release of the film
00:56to complete the animation using modern digital tools.
01:00And IMAX is once again integrated into the feature film as Howard Hachman had originally envisioned it.
