LeBron James opened up about the role his family has played throughout his NBA career, crediting his wife, Savannah, as the foundation that keeps everything together while he's away competing. Speaking with kid reporter Jazlyn Guerra at Fanatics Fest, James admitted the demands of basketball forced him to sacrifice time with friends and loved ones, especially early in his career, but said those sacrifices were worth it. He also explained that whenever he's away from the court, he makes it a priority to be fully present with his family, a commitment that has been reflected in his support for sons Bronny and Bryce throughout their basketball journeys, including becoming Bronny's teammate with the Los Angeles Lakers.

00:00What's going on, guys? It's Jazzy, and today we're here once again with LeBron James.
00:03Mr. James, how are you doing today?
00:04Come on, Jaz. How you been?
00:05I've been great.
00:06I'm going to tap in with you again. One year later?
00:08One year later, exactly.
00:10All right, so life in the NBA means constant time away from home
00:13and long stretches of time, you know, away from your kids as well and from your family.
00:17How have you been able to find balance between your professional career
00:21and having family time and having that time to spend time with your kids?
00:24Well, I mean, the best thing I have, I have support, you know.
00:27And, you know, my wife Savannah does a great job of when I'm out, you know,
00:30playing my sport or doing my job, she holds the household down.
00:33You know, she's the queen of the kingdom.
00:35So that definitely helps tremendously, and our family wouldn't be as tight as we are without her.
00:40So, you know, and then when I come home, I try to implement myself into it, but it's all her.
00:45Absolutely. I mean, those are the parts of having a great career like that.
00:48Yeah, absolutely.
00:48And pursuing greatness often means giving up on certain pieces of your normal life.
00:53So when you look back on your journey,
00:54what's the biggest personal sacrifice that you have made,
00:57and how do you feel about that choice today?
00:59Yeah, I would say just, like, doing things that you would love to do with, like, your friends.
01:02Like, you want to hang out with your friends a lot sometimes, you know, and younger.
01:05When I was younger, I had to sacrifice maybe not going out with them
01:08because I had to get up and work out the next day or, you know, train and things of that
01:12nature.
01:12So you've got to sacrifice a lot of, like, fun in order to accomplish what you want to accomplish.
01:17And if you do that, then it's fun to be there on the back end.
01:19Thank you so much.
01:20Everyone, I'm here once again with LeBron James, and until next time, jazzin' out.
01:23Thank you so much.
