00:00And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that fight to me, and I gladly stand up.
00:08Our great FIFA president, Johnny Infantino.
00:12There's nobody like him, actually, very few.
00:14And the entire team at FIFA for their incredible work.
00:18I've met so many of them.
00:19I see why you were so successful.
00:21Because of the commitment and devotion of the people in this room.
00:25In fact, the people that came, they're going to be coming back.
00:29Maybe permanently, I don't know.
00:31I suggested that this has been so successful that, and I'm really working these people hard because they really call
00:39the shot.
00:39They tell Johnny exactly what to do.
00:41I say, what we should do is you should choose the United States of America again.
00:48This time we'll leave Mexico and Canada out.
00:51But then what you do is you, which I was very nice to get them in.
00:55But what we do is you leave, you choose us, but you pick somebody else for the next one.
01:00And that will take some of the anger, hatred, and steam out of everyone.
01:05But Johnny also had another idea.
01:07He said we could do it.
01:10China and the United States for next time.
01:12We do them China, United States.
01:14So you have a nice short flight in between games.
01:17I want to thank Johnny, this guy.
01:19He came to me with this crazy idea.
01:22He said, are you crazy?
01:23I have my children love soccer.
01:25My one son, my very tall son.
01:28Baron loves soccer.
01:30He's a good soccer player.
01:31He may, I don't know, his speed might, little kid, he's very tall.
01:35I don't know.
01:35I said, when some guy gets by you from Spain, from Argentina, from France, Baron, what happens
01:43from England?
01:45What happens, Baron?
01:46He said, Dad, I'm a very good ball handler.
01:49I said, but Baron, if he's faster, what do you do about it?
01:53Dad, he'll never get by me.
01:55I said, but when he does?
01:57And he didn't want to answer that question.
01:59So speed, I think, is quite important in this sport.
02:02Do you agree?
02:03I worked closely with FIFA to make this event a resounding success.
02:07We have great people.
02:09I watched Messi, and he was well guarded, right?
02:12Well guarded.
02:13And all of a sudden, he's standing on the right.
02:15Do you understand what I'm talking about?
02:17I don't know if anybody didn't.
02:18I just noticed it.
02:20Nobody talked about it.
02:21I just noticed it.
02:22I said, he's so well guarded by a great player.
02:25And then he moved to the right, and the other player was just standing there.
02:30And he had plenty of time.
02:32He kicked it.
02:32It was within, I would say, a quarter of an inch of being perfect.
02:36And that was the end of the game.
02:38It was brilliant.
02:39And these great players, they seem to do that over and over again.
02:45They're just born with something extra special.
02:49I know that Ronaldo is one of them.
02:51I got to know him over the years, and he's a great guy.
02:55You have a great player in England who I played golf with.
02:58You know that, right?
02:59And he is Harry, who's been fantastic.
03:02I think they perhaps made a mistake when they made him a defensive player.
03:06What do I know about soccer?
03:09They took the league, and they took their best player, and they put him on defense.
03:13Then somehow, you know, we got to be a little offensive, right?
03:18But no, I'm not going to call it.
03:20But look, what do I know about coaching?
03:28The American dream, Mr. President, came to reality.
03:33We united the world.
03:37Great World Cup, you told me.
03:39America will welcome the world.
03:40When we met the first time, Mr. President, in 2018, in the summer, after the award of the decision,
03:50I promised you we would make a great World Cup.
03:55And by all means, this World Cup has exceeded all expectations.
04:05Mr. President, came to reality.
04:10This World Cup would not have been such an incredible success without you.
04:18Please.
04:21Your administration, every single person in the White House, in the administration, in the cities, in the states,
04:35everywhere contributed to create this safe and secure and joyful environment to live something that the world has never seen.
04:45This has not just been, and it's not just, the greatest World Cup of all times.
04:50It is the greatest human, social and cultural event that mankind has ever witnessed and seen.
05:00And we are all part of it.
05:02And for this, I thank you very much, Mr. President.
05:11I don't know if you know, but the official definition of FIFA is we are, FIFA is the official happiness
05:21provider to humanity since 120 years.
05:26So we are providing joy and happiness unless the team loses, of course.
05:33We united the world.
05:37One country will be the world champion, but the world has already won, America has won, FIFA has won, and
05:48uniting the world in such a way as we did this summer,
05:52giving unforgettable experiences and memories to millions to billions of people all over the world,
05:58is something that we will take with us and cherish forever.
