Seven people die in Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine

A number regions of Ukraine have been hit by Russian drones and missiles over the past day. Overall seven people are reported to have died, and at least 67 injured across the country.

00:01Overnight strikes on Ukraine have killed seven people over the last 24 hours, according to
00:06officials, and injured dozens more. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky said the Kremlin
00:12targeted a number of areas across the country. Local officials reported attacks in the northern
00:17Sumy and Kharkiv regions, the southern Odessa, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions, as well as
00:23Donetsk, part of the industrial Donbass region. Zelensky says Russia fired more than 100
00:29and 30 strike drones, most of which were intercepted, and eight missiles across the border into
00:35the early hours of Friday. The strikes targeted civilian areas as well as energy infrastructure,
00:41causing power outages in several regions. Meanwhile, Kiev has been conducting strikes
00:47of its own targeting Russia's energy sector, which it says has been the financial arm of
00:51Moscow's war. The Russian Defense Ministry says its forces intercepted 243 drones fired from
00:58Ukraine early on Friday, targeting oil facilities and energy grids.
