00:00It's the No Taste Olympics. What is this vibe?
00:03Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the Project Runway looks that just couldn't make
00:09it work.
00:10Why are there chains? It looked like she was tied up and it got stuck. It's a disaster.
00:16Number 20, Jeffrey's egregious Mother's Day design, Season 3.
00:20The task was simple, take 150 bucks and design an outfit for the everyday woman.
00:24So far out of my realm, to be making this dress for the lady this size, you know, I just
00:29don't do it. I haven't done it.
00:31Like a real striking jacket.
00:33I don't like that. I don't like that idea.
00:36The models were mothers and sisters of their fellow designers. No pressure or anything, right?
00:40Well, Jeffrey certainly didn't seem to think so.
00:43What made this outfit so infamous wasn't just this messy look, but also his total disrespect for Angela's mom.
00:49Darlene, how do you like your outfit?
00:51Evidently, Jeff and I are obviously different.
00:54And there was a lot lost in translation.
00:57I feel quite matronly.
00:59The two seemed to butt heads almost instantly, and it almost felt like his design was more of a revenge
01:04look than an actual attempt to win the task.
01:07Needless to say, the look didn't have many fans in the room.
01:10Well, you know what they say, mothers know best.
01:12I have to say I didn't really love it, but at least I see a point of view here.
01:17Angela, how do you think your mom looks?
01:19Not attractive.
01:21I think it's embarrassing.
01:23Number 19, Shawn's bandage skirt. Season 13.
01:26You know you're not off to a great start when the designer says,
01:29I know my look is not the strongest.
01:31The designers were given vintage suits to upgrade for the modern age, and look, in Shawn's defense, his inspiration piece
01:37was a tough sell to begin with.
01:39But it did look like he closed his eyes, improvised, and hoped for the best.
01:43Unfortunately, the judges didn't see the deconstructed masterpiece Shawn was aiming for, instead comparing it to everything from a mistake
01:50to a shredded mess.
01:52But this looks sort of orthopedic, and it looks like it's peeling skin.
01:56I understand that you like deconstructive, but this doesn't look deconstructive, it just looks like it's a mistake.
02:03It looks like a shredded mess.
02:04And indeed, shred the look, they did. Heidi Klum later noted it as one of her absolute worst looks from
02:10the series so far.
02:11This is terrible.
02:12I thought it was Jersey, it's an hour mess.
02:14No, look at this material.
02:15It really doesn't feel like an inventive use in any way of this suit.
02:20I know that we keep talking about this imagination, but where is it? I've yet to see it.
02:25I'm very concerned.
02:26Number 18, Van's Everyday Woman Fail, Season 10.
02:31Just introducing his concept, Van already started on the wrong foot.
02:34My client really doesn't have a shape.
02:36She's definitely not fashioned for it. She doesn't have any sense of style whatsoever.
02:40Are you leading her forward?
02:42The before picture is definitely a nightmare.
02:44He savagely tore apart his client's size and style, and you could practically hear the collective gasp from his fellow
02:50competitors.
02:50But surely after all that criticism, he was going to create a jaw-dropping transformation, right? Wrong.
02:56Terry, how do you like your look?
02:58Yesterday with the first fitting, I was not happy. And this morning was not happy.
03:02The issue wasn't just that the look itself was underwhelming.
03:05It felt like Van was disappointed in his model and designed accordingly.
03:08Honestly, everything about this challenge from his attitude to the final outfit was so uncomfortable and quite frankly, downright offensive.
03:15We're just surprised the judges didn't send him packing immediately.
03:18I mean, I don't know if they provided the before pictures, but I think it was definitely a drastic change.
03:25And also working with the real women that I feel like some of the other designers were lucky.
03:29Number 17. Bryce's Absorbent Look, Season 9
03:33Sometimes a concept is so wild, you have to wonder where the inspiration came from.
03:38Anything in the store is available to you for this challenge, but I want to give you a heads up.
03:43The judges do not respond well to looks that come out of unconventional challenges that contain a lot of fabric.
03:50Buying runway materials at a pet shop? A bold choice, to say the least.
03:55Bryce clearly struggled with his vision, resulting in a chaotic, non-cohesive mess.
04:00One must truly pity the poor model forced to strut down the runway in attire made from items usually found
04:05in a hamster's cage or used for puppy training.
04:09The bodice here is like the rabbit hamster type bedding and the skirt is the puppy pee pads.
04:19The judges somehow overlooked the material choice, but called out the skirt for being yet another generic, uninspired napkin look.
04:26It was a messy, overwhelming disaster, and sadly just a massive, literal waste of an opportunity.
04:33How many times have we had this tissue dress?
04:36It just never looks right. I don't love the fit of the top, and the styling is making it even
04:42worse.
04:43Number 16. Aaron's Streamer Dress, Season 16
04:47This week the designers were assigned either good or evil looks, inspired by the Disney movie Descendants 2.
04:54Alright designers, do not go into costume land.
04:58That's right, the movie may be based on the classic fairy tales, but the fashion is actually contemporary, as are
05:03our characters.
05:04After a tense previous week, Aaron decided to enter this week feeling a little bolder, which brings us to his
05:10evening wear look.
05:11Now, just looking at it, tell us, is that meant to be good or evil?
05:15I'm thinking that it looks pretty messy, but I mean, I like the textural value that it has.
05:20I think it's fun and funny.
05:21And so I'm hoping that I'm safe.
05:24It's kind of giving one of those warm people from The Little Mermaid, right?
05:27The dress looked like a mess and was even falling apart on the runway.
05:31Needless to say, there was no possibility of a happily ever after after that catastrophe.
05:35This design was truly rotten to the core.
05:39Need a style palette reset?
05:41Follow the runway to Miss Mojo's 24-7 livestream instead, where we have something for everyone's taste.
05:47Scan the QR code on screen to join us live for nonstop fun.
05:50Number 15, Alyssa's not-so-eye candy look, Season 4
05:55For this challenge, you'll be using items from Hershey's as the raw materials for an outfit of your choice.
06:02Outfits inspired by candy? Sweet!
06:05This week, the designers were literally kids in a candy store, running loose in Times Square's Hershey's store to gather
06:11their materials, or should we say, ingredients.
06:13Hershey's may not be everyone's favorite, but calling her inspiration macabre is certainly a choice.
06:18Looked because it did create the quality I wanted, which was a fairly macabre, disturbing, Gretel-like figure.
06:26Alyssa missed the brief's playful spirit entirely, sucking the joy out of candy and replacing it with a design that
06:32was painfully bland.
06:34And honestly, we might have forgiven that if the look wasn't so forgettable.
06:38It was definitely giving the candy left at the bottom of the bag because nobody wants it.
06:42Alyssa really fudged this one up.
06:44She's got a silver shower cap on her arm.
06:47Yes.
06:48But it lost your joy, it lost the joy of being fun.
06:53There's no examples.
06:54The joy of candy.
06:55Number 14, Amy's decollete shag, season 7.
06:59This look was a hairy situation from the start, proving that some fashion choices just shouldn't be braided.
07:05The dress comes out and it's not standing correctly at all, and the hair is very messy, but I think
07:11the concept is very different and unique.
07:14Amy's attempt at inner combustion was, frankly, a total burnout.
07:18By opting for a bodice that channeled a Wookiee in serious need of a trim, she missed the mark entirely,
07:24unless the goal was to provide Bigfoot with a formal upgrade.
07:27It looks like a cat in a baby sling.
07:30She looks like she's a barmaid serving her hair.
07:34Like she's growing hair out of her chest.
07:36It's just weird.
07:37It was less high fashion and more high follicle disaster.
07:40Ultimately, this design didn't just walk the runway, it stumbled through a salon trash bin.
07:45It was truly a main event of bad taste, leaving us all hoping this style remains permanently untangled.
07:52She picked something that was, quite frankly, more ambitious than she really knew how to achieve.
07:57She just got stuck with her concept, and she ended up with a mess.
08:02A really weird looking mess.
08:04Number 13, AJ's curious focal point choice, season 8.
08:08The designers were tasked with creating chic looks using party supplies.
08:12AJ certainly went for it, though the results were, to put it mildly, a bit distressing.
08:17It was inspired by New York City club kids, and I wanted to do a birthday dress.
08:22I preferred to show off some of my party favors instead of trying to hide them, because that's very me
08:27and that's my style.
08:28The dress in question was a chaotic, frilly confection.
08:32Its most memorable feature was a questionable placement of beads dangling right in front of the model's crotch.
08:37We don't know about you, but that doesn't really say party on to us.
08:41But this is just like you threw all the party favors at her at the same time.
08:45It looks like a hot mess.
08:48That was not a compliment.
08:50The judges weren't exactly popping champagne over it either, noting that the design looked like he'd simply tried to attach
08:55the entire party store to a single garment.
08:58While he did avoid elimination, his crotch-tastic creation remains legendary.
09:03I knew that was risky.
09:04I actually ran out of yardage at that point, so I had to make it work.
09:08I mean, I'm all for short, but I don't know about the fringe crotch being a focal point.
09:12Number 12.
09:13Plain Jane's spiky… well, you know, season 22.
09:17Plain Jane's spiky, uh, couture was, quite frankly, a masterclass in unintentional comedy.
09:24Plain Jane's look is just not giving what I think she thinks it's giving.
09:29Yeah, I definitely wouldn't go to the grocery store in that outfit or anywhere.
09:34When she waltzed into Project Runway season 22, she clearly forgot that drag eleganza and high fashion runway aren't always
09:41synonyms.
09:43Christian Siriano's bewildered reaction was the only sane response to a garment that looked less like couture and more like
09:49a medieval defense mechanism in a high fashion battle.
09:53I wish I was on another show because I would make you lip sync for your life.
09:57While the internet collectively gasped with the construction, one has to simply admire the audacity.
10:02Is it the worst look in series history?
10:05Hey, it made our list.
10:06Is it the most memorable?
10:08Absolutely.
10:09Mama, kudos for that bold choice.
10:11It was certainly… a statement piece, if nothing else.
10:14Well, I wish you had killed the look, but you didn't.
10:17I think while I was being a hater, so… whatever.
10:22Number 11.
10:22Jason's infinity dress.
10:24Season 8.
10:25If there's a Mount Rushmore of Project Runway disasters, this garment absolutely deserves a spot.
10:31I think I stumbled upon something.
10:35It was impeccable the way it was sewn.
10:40She looks really badass.
10:42Jason's pitch was peak pretension, a dress representing the number 8, which, when tipped over, creates the symbol for infinity.
10:49Genius, right?
10:49Well, that was the theory.
10:52The result looked like a fever dream stitched together with pure confidence and an alarming amount of safety pins.
10:57I don't know how interesting this would be on a billboard.
11:01Are the closures safety pins?
11:04Yes.
11:05And that was intentional, obviously.
11:06When your design is held together by hope and mental fasteners, you're less an avant-garde visionary and more a
11:11craft store hazard.
11:12The judges weren't looking for infinity, just a dress that would survive the runway.
11:17Iconic.
11:17For all the wrong reasons.
11:19I don't think that the Marie Claire girl would wear it for day or night.
11:24At night, she would feel like she was wearing a satin bedspread.
11:29For day, everyone in the office would say, is that a walk of shame dress?
11:34Number 10, Take Them All Off, Season 11.
11:37This week, the designers were split into teams and tasked with creating outfits for Aussie performance group Thunder from Down
11:43Under.
11:44We need a new opening costume for our new opening routine.
11:47So we need something that's new and hip.
11:49But the most important thing is there has to be a tearaway element to it.
11:54Basically, Australia's answer to Chippendales.
11:56Honestly, pretty much everyone missed the brief here.
11:59We doubt Magic Mike's costume team was taking notes after seeing these looks.
12:03Heidi Klue might have actually ended the season on the spot if she hadn't been contractually obliged to continue.
12:08I think we should rep the show early and I think you're all out.
12:15But since we can't do that, let's continue.
12:18Instead of sultry, rip-off fantasy wear, the dancers walked out looking like poorly tailored accountants trapped in oversized office
12:25wear.
12:25The tearaway mechanisms failed so spectacularly that the models practically had to escape their own outfits.
12:32Truly, a performance nobody could forget.
12:34Oh no!
12:44The performance of disaster, the judges are gonna eat us alive.
12:49Number 9, King's Burlap Sack, Season 7.
12:52Note to all future Project Runway designers.
12:55Can I just tell you, if it's just an inch or two below her crotch, that runway is elevated.
13:02Those judges can look… you don't want it to be vulgar, that's my point.
13:07Right.
13:07If you're going to add a slit to the back of a dress, make sure it stops when it reaches
13:11the model's derriere.
13:12On Season 7, Ping made the mistake of letting hers run a little too high, exposing way too much of
13:18her models behind.
13:23As soon as she walked on the wrong way, I not only see that her buttocks is revealed, but also
13:31the skirt part of this dress really looks like potato sacks.
13:35The challenge here was to create a fun party dress using a burlap potato sack.
13:40Unfortunately, Ping's design was shapely in all the wrong ways, with the lower portion looking like a cardboard box she
13:45tacked on at the last second.
13:47Ultimately though, it was the butt flap that broke the design.
13:50I don't know if she really doesn't understand half of the things that we tell her or if she's trying
13:56to use that for a benefit.
13:58But clearly, every other designer understood the challenge.
14:01I don't know, I think she doesn't listen.
14:03You know, she's sending her model out bare butt.
14:09Season 11 differed from its predecessors in that the designers were forced to compete in teams for each challenge.
14:14This season is Project Runway teams.
14:24Oh hell no, like this can't be happening.
14:28In the end, this didn't make much of a difference for Emily, who was eliminated in week one thanks to
14:33this underwhelming look.
14:34I'm like horrified at this mess I've put together. I can't believe that I sent that down my life.
14:40The poorly constructed design can be blamed on Emily's lack of initiative in the early stages of the competition.
14:46Is there too much happening? Is there too much going on?
14:49That's what I'm kind of struggling with right now.
14:52Well let us help you.
14:53If you needed to lose one of the ideas, you can lose the jacket, but you can't send someone down
14:58a runway wearing just the jacket.
15:00I've got a lot of work ahead of me. I think the idea is there. It's just about getting it
15:05done.
15:06She failed to get much done on the first day, which had her playing catch up for the rest of
15:10the challenge.
15:11The result was a top and a skirt that looks, well, bad.
15:15Seriously, what is that thing hanging off her shoulders?
15:19But it looks like my eight-year-old daughter made it. It looks like the sewing machine just ate it
15:23up.
15:24Number seven, Bert's Shapely Mess, season nine.
15:27There's just these forms that just seem to be applied, but I don't get it.
15:33For this season nine challenge, the designers were tasked with creating a look based on a painting they did with
15:38an art student.
15:39You been to the Guggenheims?
15:40Um, no.
15:41You should get there.
15:43The ensuing design was meant to be more of a homage to the painting, not a literal recreation.
15:48My biggest concern is really creating that silhouette. The pant balloons out over the hips, and that's the big thing
15:55is not making her look silly.
15:56Unfortunately for Bert, he must have missed that part of the instructions because he literally took portions of the painting
16:02and made them the focal point of the entire design.
16:05The result is something that looks like it belongs on the pages of a children's book rather than on the
16:09runway.
16:10Watching my look come down the runway, I think it looks great. It's attractive.
16:15The shapes my artist had on his painting, I've interpreted it in an avant-garde way.
16:19It's the proportion of this large pant. Being very high-waisted is somewhat forward.
16:26Number six, Laura's Rock and Roll Massacre, season nine.
16:31For this season nine challenge, contestants were split into two teams and asked to design outfits for the sheepdogs.
16:35So for this week's challenge, we want you to take the sheepdogs to the next level and to create an
16:41image for them, but keeping it true to who they are as artists.
16:44The goal was to create something that would establish the band as trendsetters. Laura was responsible for designing guitarist Liat
16:50Hansen's outfit.
16:51While Laura seemed proud of her creation, we're not so enthusiastic about it.
16:56Hansen looks less like a rock god and more like he barely escaped with his life after being involved in
17:01some kind of 70s-era massacre.
17:02He looks slim, he's rocking it, so I'm just thrilled.
17:10The Chevy jacket, blood-soaked t-shirt, and bell bottoms just don't do it for us, and we're pretty shocked
17:16that it didn't land Laura on the chopping block.
17:18I'm not a fan of the tie-dye itself. I think it looks like he cut himself shaving.
17:25It's a little Sweeney Todd tie-dye.
17:28Number five, Casanova's Barely There Dress, season eight.
17:32It's odd. I mean, it's the only word for it.
17:35To kick off season eight, the designers were asked to remove an article of clothing from their luggage to be
17:40sewn into their final design.
17:41Please open them up and pull out one item that you would like to incorporate into your garment.
17:47But there was a catch. Instead of using their own item, they had to use the item of the person
17:52standing to their left.
17:53Please pass your item to the person to your right.
17:58This will be the garment you use in your design.
18:01This resulted in some truly inspired creations.
18:04Unfortunately for Carlos Casanova, his was not one of them.
18:08His dress was lacking in a number of areas.
18:11She's dressed. She's done.
18:12You just dressed her?
18:13Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did.
18:15I'm sorry.
18:15She's done. What I have to do?
18:17She's done?
18:18Yeah.
18:18She just have to, like, put this in here.
18:23That's it?
18:23Well then do that. Right now.
18:25The risque look proved too much for the judges, and he found himself facing elimination.
18:30Michael Kors called it odd, and Nina Garcia said that it was questionable in taste.
18:35So, yeah. Not good.
18:37It is questionable in taste.
18:40It's almost fascinating.
18:42But it's just fascinatingly bad.
18:45Number 4. Santino's Frilly Lingerie. Season 2.
18:48How Santino didn't get eliminated after turning in these bizarre creations, we will never know.
18:55Come on. Take a deep breath.
18:57Don't cry. It'll be fine.
18:59During Season 2, the designers were tasked with creating a lingerie line consisting of three similar looks.
19:04Santino apparently took inspiration from Heidi Klum's homeland, trotting out these Lederhosen-inspired looks.
19:10The designs failed to impress the judges, with one going so far as to quip,
19:14I think Santino embellished to the point where it wasn't delicate and sexy any longer.
19:18It was vaudeville.
19:20It's aesthetically not pleasing.
19:22I think lingerie is sexy, and I think it's supposed to come off, is what I think.
19:25And it's supposed to be delicate, and it's made out of lace and pleats and beautiful satins.
19:31That's already been done, and that's not what I'm trying to do.
19:34While he ultimately managed to stave off elimination, our dreams will forever be haunted by these inexplicable looks.
19:40It looks not well made.
19:44I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Nina.
19:47Number 3. Sandro's Leotard. Season 12.
19:50I mean, the taste level is a huge question mark.
19:53Simplify. Less is more.
19:55Season 12's first challenge took the contestants out of the design room and onto the tarmac.
19:59The task was to create a look using parachute materials.
20:02You will be showing the judges your point of view as a designer using parachutes as your material.
20:09Your unconventional material.
20:10While most of the designers played it safe and used their unique material to create long, flowing dresses,
20:15Sandro went in a different direction.
20:17Watching my look come to the runway first my reaction.
20:23Vagina drops.
20:24He decided to make a skin-tight bodysuit with predictable results.
20:29The finished product leaves little to the imagination, with the model's most intimate areas on full display.
20:35Sandro didn't get eliminated, but he also didn't last much longer in the competition.
20:39She looks like a slutty cat toy.
20:43Number 2. Blaine and Stella's Creepy Disaster. Season 5.
20:47I mean, come on. We had this once before another. She is pooping fabric.
20:51For this Season 5 challenge, Blaine was teamed up with Stella.
20:54Blaine, you are also a Libra, and you will be working with Stella, who is a Scorpio.
21:00Their goal was to create an avant-garde outfit inspired by one of the teammate's astrological signs.
21:05And what the two came up with was interesting, to say the least.
21:09And we're also adding these leather straps.
21:11But can I ask why?
21:13Kind of like strapping you down and like giving you the rules and like holding you in.
21:17Just make certain that there's cohesion among all the parts, okay?
21:20There's a lot to unpack with this design.
21:22The colorful fabrics scream magician's handkerchiefs.
21:26And the black leather strips conjure up images of a hardcore dungeon.
21:29This outfit represents a Libra. It's unbalanced. It's got an explosion of emotion. It's Blaine.
21:36The outfit has no flow, no meaning, and frankly no proper way to describe it.
21:41In the end, it caused Blaine and Stella a seat at the table as they were both eliminated for their
21:45fashion faux pas.
21:46This looks haphazard. It doesn't look like you spent a lot of time with it.
21:50We actually hand-sewed everything.
21:54It's just the one-legged monster here.
21:58Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few dishonorable mentions.
22:02Bradley's Cher inspired look season 3.
22:05If only he could turn back time, he might have reconsidered this one.
22:09To me, this looks like an old Halloween costume that you pick up in the mall.
22:15Kenneth's Colorful Streetwear Season 19. So bright, you need sunglasses just to look at it.
22:20The dichotomy of the black pants that made me stop and be like, what is going on here?
22:25Yeah.
22:25I wrote, it's giving harem, soccer player, cross guard.
22:30It's just like so many different things happening.
22:32Emilio's Bikini Season 7.
22:34We're not sure where he cast his net to come up with that look.
22:37But the simple truth is, she looks really cheesy.
22:40I mean, that's a full cheese fest.
22:43Blake's Lingerie Season 14.
22:45A set that has all the structural integrity of the judge's faith in the design.
22:48The color was great. However, there is no fit, there is no quality, and there is no sophistication.
22:57April's Diaper Pants Season 8. Do we really need to say more?
23:01When I look at this kind of triple panty, I mean, and the panty is ill-fitting.
23:06I guess if you're going for a three-day weekend, it looks like you layered your underpants for the weekend.
23:11Number 1. Wendy's Grocery Store Disaster Season 1.
23:16This design remains one of Project Runway's most memorable. Just not for a good reason.
23:21Trotted out all the way back in the Season 1 premiere, the panty-inspired look was part of a challenge
23:26that required the designers to create something using materials found at a grocery store.
23:30I shop every day of my life. I've never approached a grocery store with fear. I don't know what to
23:35do.
23:35With $50 to spend and one day to work, this was what Wendy came up with.
23:40Who can really deliver the goods on all levels.
23:44The finished product is a mess and looks less like the work of an aspiring designer and more like the
23:49inside of a pinata.
23:51It's unflattering, unwearable, and truly unforgettable.
23:55Because I see very little clothes.
23:57Um, I met my model and she said she was from Brazil.
24:03Alright, I get it. So you are going to Rio. I just wish I would have seen more clothes.

24:13We out.
24:15Oh, please.
24:18P berries onああ you got.
24:18How would you like.
24:18This is going to do live.
