00:00Thinking of posting a cute picture of a child online? You should think twice. Your everyday
00:05family photos could be manipulated with AI. The British National Crime Agency has now officially
00:10warned parents about this new threat. Here's why. Images of children have been increasingly
00:15used for AI-generated videos of child sexual abuse. In 2025, the Internet Watch Foundation
00:22found almost 3,500 such videos compared to only 13 in 2024. Offenders can take pictures from social
00:30media and manipulate them into real-looking sexualized imagery. To be safe, the IWF recommends
00:37turning your profiles private and limiting who can see your posts, for example, with close friends
00:42settings. For the photos that are already there, check your profiles and ask yourself if you're
00:47still comfortable with the pictures you shared. The IWF also encourages having conversations
00:53with kids about whether they are okay with their photos or videos being online. How do
00:58you feel about posting pictures of children online?
