00:15the appointment of Peter Mandelson as our ambassador to the United States.
00:19But Mr Speaker before I go into the details I want to be very clear with this House that
00:25while this statement will focus on the process surrounding Peter Mandelson's vetting and
00:31appointment at the heart of this there is also a judgement I made that was wrong.
00:38I should not have appointed Peter Mandelson.
00:41I take responsibility for that decision and I apologise again to the victims of the paedophile
00:47Jeffrey Epstein who were clearly failed by my decision.
