00:00Today, a grand jury sitting in the Eastern District of North Carolina returned an indictment against
00:05James Comey on two counts. The first count is that on or about May 15th of last year,
00:12he knowingly and willfully making a threat to take the life of and to inflict bodily harm upon
00:18the President of the United States. Count two, same day, May 15th, 2025, that the defendant,
00:25James Comey, knowingly and willfully transmitting in interstate commerce, a communication that
00:31contained a threat to kill the President of the United States. Both of these counts carry a maximum
00:36term of imprisonment of 10 years. In the Eastern District of North Carolina,
00:42it doesn't matter who you are. We take all threat cases seriously and prosecute anyone who violates
00:51federal law, regardless of title or status.
