00:11Before, yes, I feel the guilt every day, and also I never get bored of it to feel the guilt
00:17because it's necessary in order to act right.
00:20You try and make a film in a way that's not like, you know, not narcissistic, autobiographic or anything, just
00:27try to make it as universal as possible through strong images, strong scenes, scenes that don't explain but put you
00:34in that place, you know, and leave you space to imagine.
00:37And that, when you do that, which is what cinema can do really well, you know, you, you, you, it
00:42helps to make it universal.
00:44You know, this is, black and white is an honest deal with the audience, you know, this is a black
00:48and white world.
00:48And it's kind of, you know, we always try to tend towards abstraction in some way, you know, in art
00:55generally.
00:56And black and white has that, you know, it kind of removes the reality from the prose or whatever the
01:03word is.
01:04And so it just feels right, you know, I mean, we end up intellectualizing in these kind of meetings, you
01:11know, why black and white, but actually it's just a kind of instinctive decision, which we then have to rationalize.
