00:20The organisers said the predatory non-native fish were released during the festival's opening ceremony ahead of a fishing tournament

00:31They attributed the mistake to inaccurate information received during the fish procurement process.
00:37Accepting full responsibility, the organisers said they are carrying out immediate measures directed by the Salango State Infrastructure and Agriculture
00:46Executive Committee to safeguard the lake's ecosystem.
00:50The measures include installing nets at all water inlets and outlets to contain the fish, conducting a lake-wide netting
00:57operation and requiring tournament participants to permanently remove any Siamese catfish they catch.
01:04The organisers also pledged to work with state authorities to monitor the lake and strengthen fish procurement procedures, including mandatory
01:12technical verification by the relevant agencies before any future releases.
01:16The inaugural festival is jointly organised by the Salango State Infrastructure and Agriculture Standing Committee, the Shah Alam City Council,
