00:00Hello, I'm Will Bramwell, I'm the Chief Executive of Pembrokeshire County Council and I'm going
00:05to say a little bit about why Pembrokeshire and Pembrokeshire County Council is such a
00:09great place to work.
00:16I think when you live here it's fairly obvious, it's a hugely diverse natural environment,
00:24rich, positive, an area of deep conservation, three stunning coastlines.
00:34The people are hugely embracing, it doesn't matter whether you're a local or an outsider,
00:39they will treat you very much as one of their own very very quickly, very very warm place
00:46to live.
00:47And finally I think the opportunities on the work front, and I'm not just talking about
00:52working in Pembrokeshire County Council, I'm talking about working in the thematics and
00:58the communities and the businesses that we work with in partnership.
01:02We have three principal industries here, agriculture of course, probably our most traditional, but
01:09still very very prominent.
01:12A growing tourism sector that we're hugely excited about and that we need to increasingly
01:17put on a sustainable footing.
01:18And finally energy, you know, we look after the UK's biggest energy port, critically important
01:26at the moment given world events, but we're on a journey, a transitional journey to pivot
01:32towards and deliver what we hope will be the UK's biggest sustainable energy offer, looking
01:40at decarbonising our classic industries, green hydrogen, floating offshore wind in the
01:46Kelsic Sea.
01:53Probably start with our sort of unifying purpose, you know, our mission, working together, improving
02:00lives.
02:02And those two elements make it a rather special place to live and that's not just a strapline,
02:08you know.
02:09We all, I think, from every employee in the Council and those elected members of Council, all truly
02:18believe in that unifying statement.
02:22Working together both internally in small teams but more widely with stakeholders and partnerships
02:28and then improving lives.
02:31We're a collaborative lot.
02:33You know, I thought after leaving the army after 35 years, you know, would you find a place
02:40where people genuinely had a sense of team and I found it.
02:45This is a place where team is really important.
02:48And then, you know, improving lives.
02:51Everything we do is about improving lives, whether it's fixing the roads, collecting the waste,
02:57teaching children in our 61 schools, delivering social care.
03:01Everything we do is about improving lives and we hope very much making a positive impact on
03:07the people of Pembrokeshire so that's why it's a very, very special place to live.
03:20Well the first thing is pick up the phone and speak to us.
03:24Speak to me, you know.
03:25Get hold of some of the officers here and have a chat with them.
03:29Find out what it's really like.
03:31Don't take my word for it but speak to us.
03:33You'll have no regrets.
03:36You'll thoroughly enjoy it.
03:37People will embrace you but just do it.
