Pembrokeshire County Council are recruiting for a Deputy Chief Executive to ‘help shape the county’s future’ - with a starting salary coming in at £132,063 - £145,050.
Richard Brown is the current Assistant CEO at Pembrokeshire Council, a role he was appointed to in April 2022, with a starting salary of £114,845.
Mr. Brown held the post of interim chief executive following the departure of Ian Westley, until current CEO Will Bramble took over in 2021.
The Local Authority has advertised the post in recent days, stating: “Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking a Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Place to help shape the county’s future.
“This influential role will lead on regeneration, economic development, planning, transport, environmental services, climate change and major capital projects, supporting ambitious investment opportunities including the Celtic Freeport.
“Based in Haverfordwest/agile, Pembrokeshire: £132,063 - £145,050 plus £9,576 lease car allowance and relocation package.
“If you have a strong track record of delivering growth and transformation in complex environments, we'd love to hear from you.
“As the custodian of place, you will lead a broad and influential portfolio spanning regeneration, economic development, planning, property, transport, environmental services, climate change and major capital projects.
“Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will play a pivotal role in delivering the Council’s ambitions while helping to shape the future prosperity of Pembrokeshire.
“This is not a steady-state role. We need a resilient, politically astute and visible leader who thrives in complexity, embraces change and can galvanise teams behind a shared vision. You will bring people together, build a cohesive directorate and work across boundaries to deliver ambitious outcomes for residents, businesses and communities.
“As Deputy Chief Executive you will be one of the principal leaders in the authority operating at the corporate centre and across the breadth and depth of the organisation.”
