00:10Hey guys, we just got back from Evil Dead Burn, which is the sequel to Evil Dead Rise,
00:19which we covered three years ago. I very much enjoyed that first film, really liked it,
00:26thought that it was extremely intense, extremely brutal, had a good performance by Ellie,
00:35I think is the character's name, where she's got the creepy smile. They was killing kids.
00:40They was gory and crazy, and it was very evil, because it's Evil Dead. Now, three years later,
00:49we have Evil Dead Burn, and apparently they intended this to be a trilogy, so they're working
00:55on Evil Dead Wrath, which is set to be released April 7th of 2028, so that's, oh, that's two years
01:03away. Yeah. I would have assumed to try to get them out a year at a time, but okay, so
01:08Evil Death Wrath
01:08is on its way in two years, but let's talk about Evil Dead Burn. So we went to see Moana.
01:16This was
01:16a pointless cash grab by Disney. No point in seeing it, especially if you've already seen the original.
01:22Go see the original. Go see the sequel. Rather than that, wait for it to be on VOD. So Evil
01:29Dead
01:30Burn is your other option. Let's hear from the boys first. What did you guys think of Evil Dead Burn?
01:35This one, I like the other one better. Some of these characters you don't really care for. You're just there
01:44for the kills. You're rooting for the bad guys. I did like some of the cool body horror that they
01:50did, but some of it was just kind of gross, but I guess that's their thing. That's what they do
01:54for shock value.
01:57I liked the deadites. Deadites. They are fucking creepy. You see in the trailer running around in the house. The
02:08old lady fucking scares me. I'm scared of the old lady. That was probably one of the more intense scenes
02:14in this movie that made me jump a little bit. I like that.
02:18You don't like the old people. Oh, no. That creeped me out, especially the way she was acting and stuff.
02:23But I like the deadites in this one. But everyone else you don't really care for. You're not really rooting
02:28for the characters.
02:30They're like, oh, she's got to make it. Honestly, I don't care. Characters are probably the worst part. That's kind
02:35of what sucks because I was kind of curious to see if they're going to kind of talk about the
02:42cult stuff and the circle. I was kind of intrigued by that.
02:45The wise men. Yeah, not really about the family. But I thought it was fine. I wouldn't rush out and
02:54see it.
02:54Family, Joe. Family. I wouldn't rush out and see this one, but I think it was better than Moana.
03:01Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Definitely better than Moana. I'm disappointed, too. I liked it. I always like these gory movies.
03:06Yeah. I think they got some really cool shots. I mean, there were some shots in this one.
03:10I like the opening. Oh, the opening one was cool. But there's some just like long sequences where stuff's happening
03:15in the background.
03:15And so like the director and the cinematographer doing some really cool stuff. It's just the writer didn't live up
03:20to who's also the director didn't live up to or one of the two director people.
03:25It didn't live up to anything else. And I wasn't expecting, you know, an Oscar winning script here.
03:29It's just you want to have some sort of connection to the characters. You want to care.
03:34And then like you mentioned, they mentioned all this cool shit that we don't get to see.
03:38They're like, oh, my grandpa was into that. It's like, oh, tell me more.
03:41And then he and his buddies were doing this. It's like, I want to see that movie.
03:44And then they did all this other stuff. It's like, yes. And then we get actually none of that.
03:49And so it's got great kills. It's got great gore.
03:53If you're there, most people are going to watch this movie for kills and gore.
03:55You're going to get exactly what you paid for because it does not let off the gas for one second.
04:00Once we get to a certain point, I just, you know, I wanted a little bit more.
04:04I think that the first one did a better job having me be like hooked.
04:07I even though people were dying and it grew some horrible ways on the screen.
04:10I was like, I'm kind of bored a little bit.
04:12You feel it towards the end. Towards the end.
04:14Because it's like I'd seen we'd seen enough of this gore stuff.
04:17And it's like gore for gore's sake without, you know, having me care about the characters or why the gore
04:21is there.
04:23Yeah, and I'm in agreement with the boys.
04:26I liked it.
04:27A little disappointed because the last one was so good.
04:31Now, the kills, the brutalness, the intenseness does not disappoint.
04:36That part doesn't disappoint.
04:38But when you're coming with a sequel, you can't just redo, you know, some of the things that you did
04:43before.
04:43You got to up the ante.
04:45And I don't feel like any of the ante was up.
04:47Be it more interesting characters.
04:49Be it tying into a greater universe.
04:51Be it, you know, cameos.
04:53And we do get two post-credit scenes here, which we'll talk, which make no fucking sense.
04:58We'll talk and actually kind of make me mad because I actually respect the Evil Dead universe.
05:04I love the Evil Dead.
05:05I love Bruce Campbell.
05:06I watch all the movies.
05:07I watch the TV show, you know, the fucking comics.
05:11So when you break lore, you piss me off.
05:14And they broke lore in the final, you know, end credit scene.
05:18I don't know what they're doing.
05:20They probably shouldn't have included it.
05:22They're probably playing on what they thought was popular in the last film.
05:26For sure.
05:26And I get it.
05:28But I agree.
05:30The film never lets up.
05:32You know, I watch behind-the-scenes stuff on horror movies and horror comedies and things like that.
05:42And one through line has always been, you know, well, I'm going to let the audience kind of have a
05:47moment to breathe, you know, by laughing.
05:49Or they'll inject some dark humor here where the audience gets to laugh even though there's the most brutal stuff
05:54going on.
05:56And then you get into the Sam Raimi territory where it is campy.
06:00It is supposed to be funny.
06:02It is more whimsical.
06:04And you can kind of have fun along with it.
06:07And it's not quite so brutal.
06:08This is not that.
06:09Okay.
06:09The Sam Raimi, the comedy is gone.
06:11Okay.
06:12They do make one attempt with the old grandma.
06:15She's stealing my stuff.
06:17That was the only one.
06:17And that joke was so lame.
06:19And they played it four times.
06:21It's like, guys, it's comedy of threes.
06:23But it's not even funny the first time.
06:25So when you do it four times, you're pissing me off.
06:28But what it is is this director, and I could see in some of the interviews that he said, is
06:34I wanted the audience to breathe once it was over.
06:37And that's what happens.
06:38It's just brutal.
06:40It is so brutal.
06:41It is so mean-spirited.
06:43It's mean-hearted.
06:44It's torture porn.
06:46And it just keeps going.
06:47And it doesn't let off.
06:49And I think that's going to turn some people off that it's too brutal.
06:52You know, I think it's even more brutal than the previous film.
06:56Now, there's no kid characters, because I was very surprised that, you know, the kid characters in the last ones,
07:02they aren't spared, so to speak.
07:05Right?
07:06But at the very end, the end credit scene, you get some of that, too.
07:10So this one is just as mean-spirited.
07:13Now, some people might be prepped for that, but some people might find it too brutal for them.
07:18Because I go to these, because I know this new Evil Dead trilogy is all about that kind of brutal.
07:25It fills the spot of hostile.
07:28You know, Eli Roth in the long time.
07:31They like to push it to the living.
07:32They like to glorify.
07:33They like to linger on the scenes where somebody's getting poked in the eye or something like that.
07:39This is that kind of stuff.
07:41Next generation.
07:42It's just happening within a universe that I love and respect and, you know, am nostalgic for.
07:48And it's a different take.
07:50It's not the comedy.
07:51It's not Bruce Campbell.
07:52It's just horror for horror's sake.
07:54And they did a good job making the Deadites a threat.
07:57The Deadites have never been more powerful than they have been here.
08:01And they've got powers where they can actually heat transfer.
08:05They can, they got almost like telekinesis.
08:08They got super strange.
08:11And these are zombies that you don't fuck with.
08:14They taunt you.
08:15They come after you.
08:16They throw your worst insecurities in your face.
08:21And they take your loved ones and taunt you with them.
08:24It's fucking great if you're into that stuff.
08:27But I know it was going to turn a lot of people off.
08:30But why the fuck are you going to Evil Dead burn the sequel at this point?
08:34So I think you get that wicked, twisted, oppressive darkness.
08:45That's all you get, though.
08:46You don't get anything else.
08:48And I'm hoping for a little bit more.
08:51I want to explore the universe.
08:53I want to explore the Deadites.
08:54Yeah, exactly.
08:55Let's get this next family and then this family gets fucked up.
08:58Oh, and then here's all these people and they run into the, they brush with mythos and lore and stuff.
09:06And then they get fucked up.
09:07And then they get fucked up.
09:08It's like, all right, but let's, come on, man.
09:10Let's do something.
09:12And, or at least have the characters be compelling.
09:17So the survivors of the previous film don't show up here.
09:21So it's not like that's connecting.
09:24However, this particular family does have a connection to the lore.
09:29So it was there, what I'm asking for, but it was never explored.
09:36Yes.
09:36It was brushed past really quick.
09:38Whenever we first talk about it, it's like, oh, are we going to find out more about this stuff?
09:42No.
09:43The wise man, his grandfather essentially has a way that he can stop Deadites.
09:49And that Deadites show up and harass this particular family in on purpose for a specific reason we can talk
09:56about in spoilers.
09:57But that is almost superficial and it's really just, you know, a kind of combed past.
10:04Now, at the end of this, in the post-credits scene and in the post-post-credits or the mid
10:11-credits and then the post-credits scene,
10:13it seems now they want to do it.
10:15But if there's only one other film, I'm not really sure, you know, how that's going to work.
10:21And apparently the other film, Evil Dead Wrath, is supposed to then be a prequel to the original Evil Dead.
10:29So it'll go right, it'll like make a whole circle and it'll go right into everything.
10:32So we'll see if they're able to execute it.
10:35And then once, if they get all that together, maybe they can not reboot, but, you know, explore further.
10:42But there's still one missing piece here that's not coming until 2028.
10:47And I hope, I think it's no matter what, it's going into production, whether, I think because it's almost about
10:52to be in production, if not filming right now.
10:54So regardless of whether Evil Dead Burn is a success or a box office failure, I think we're still getting
11:01it.
11:01However, I think it's a good enough film where if you want something brutal, gory, bloody, and the version of
11:09Evil Dead recently that we've been getting,
11:12which is just mean-spirited, mean-hearted, and just giving you that fucking intensity where it's like,
11:19Jesus Christ, it can't get no crazier.
11:21Oh my God, that's crazier.
11:22Oh man, that must have hurt.
11:24Oh man, that must have hurt.
11:25How the fuck are you still moving, you know, kind of stuff.
11:28Then you'll be satisfied.
11:31But we were hoping for a tiny bit more added on to that.
11:34So let's go with final verdicts.
11:38Oh, and I think this, the particular characters here, let me see if I can grab a cast list.
11:44Lead actress, Suhulia Yalcob, as this French girl, Alice, who has been, and this film kind of touches a little
11:53bit on domestic abuse and family.
11:58And it kind of deals a little bit with that.
12:00So there's kind of a message there, but it doesn't, the message doesn't really get dealt with and executed very
12:06well because it's kind of stuck within the Evil Dead universe and they didn't put enough to that.
12:12So if you're trying to make a point about domestic abuse and, you know, relationships where women stay in an
12:19abusive relationship, it doesn't really come through.
12:22This Price family who is a fucked up fan.
12:24Yeah, I thought they were going to have like a moment with Susan and Alice because I felt like Edgar
12:29was like very hot-headed over the top and she kind of probably dealt with that maybe.
12:33I thought they were going to have some kind of moment.
12:35Right.
12:36It didn't happen.
12:37But for me, I would probably give it a six.
12:40I'm going to go with a six on this one.
12:41Like I said, I did like the deadites and stuff.
12:44That was the cool parts.
12:44I liked the opening scene.
12:46That was fucking crazy with the fish hooks and stuff because it reminded me of one.
12:50Very set of bites.
12:51Yeah.
12:51I went to a fishing trip and then accidentally got caught myself.
12:56Oh, my God, Joe.
12:57Did you catch yourself?
12:58It wasn't me.
12:59The guy was walking with a pole and I was paying attention and it stuck in my nose.
13:03I was like, no.
13:04Free nose piercing.
13:05Did you bleed?
13:06A little bit.
13:07Did you pass out?
13:08No, not this time.
13:09Joe's like blood.
13:11But it was a good scene in the beginning and from there on on, it's just like nonstop craziness.
13:15I think Edgar did a crazy job fucking being the dad.
13:19Being the dad, yeah.
13:19That dad, I was like, man, I want to stay far away from him.
13:22Exactly.
13:22Before he turned into a deadite.
13:25Yeah, as soon as you see him turn.
13:26And on top of that, I'm like, God, damn.
13:28Yeah, fuck no.
13:30But honestly, for me, what brought it down is like the story, you don't really feel compelled
13:34to really like any of these family members or anything.
13:38Like the main Alice, like you do feel for, but you're still rooting for the demons at the
13:46end of the day.
13:47And I do want to see the cult stuff because honestly, I do love watching movies about possessions
13:52and cult stuff and that's my jam, but it kind of fell short.
13:56You didn't get that here.
13:57Yeah, yeah.
13:58You don't get any of the storytelling stuff.
14:00I think it's necessary because otherwise you end up with a 20 to 40 barely connected
14:08gore scenes.
14:09And that's kind of what I felt like we got in the last third of this movie where it's
14:11like, oh, someone got through a wall.
14:13And it's like, okay, well, why?
14:15Oh, there's another wall.
14:16And then no, oh, you never would have guessed that they got stabbed by this.
14:20And then their head is smashed into a fireplace.
14:23And then they just continue to go like that over and over.
14:25I just, you want, you want to be setting up something where like the good guy is, is
14:30feels like they're moving towards the, the weapon or like we need to be moving the plot
14:34forward more than with just like kind of barely related scenes.
14:38I enjoyed it, you know, for what it was, but I don't think that is by any means great.
14:43I'd rather see the prequel.
14:45Hopefully we go to the cult wise men stuff.
14:47Cause that sounds, there's a 30 second scene where she's reading stuff and she's reading
14:52the papers.
14:53And it's like, I want an entire movie about that.
14:55This 30 seconds is better than everything else.
14:57She starts reading the words.
14:59I'm like, bitch, mate.
15:00Why did I do this in the goddamn film?
15:01It says it in the book.
15:02Stop reading shit out loud.
15:03And then at the last, okay, but we'll get it.
15:06And so like, I really love that.
15:07And then like, that was the best written part.
15:09And it was only this long.
15:11So I agree with you.
15:11I think it's an above average movie.
15:14So I'll give it a six, but it, it's not anywhere near as good as the first one.
15:19I'm a fan of these.
15:20I like them a lot.
15:21And, and I, I'm, I'm agreeing with the boys.
15:24I think it's in, in six territory.
15:29I want to try to find a reason to give it a seven because I have such a fan and
15:34I want
15:34them to continue, but I can't, I can't really, I think it's an above average.
15:38But basically what I, the, um, uh, what I liken it to is the last film had the cake.
15:47Okay.
15:47And it has some icing on it.
15:49Wasn't, wasn't the best cake you ever had, but it was good cake.
15:52This one has the cake again and the cake's good, but, but there's no icing, you know?
15:56And so if I'm getting less every movie, I'm like, well, that's good, but I wanted more,
16:03man.
16:03Come on.
16:03Give me a little bit.
16:05What are you doing?
16:05So it's a, we like it.
16:07We enjoyed the experience.
16:09It is intense.
16:10And if you've never seen one of these evil deads and you come in on this one, you're,
16:14you're going to be like, Oh shit.
16:15That was a rollercoaster.
16:16That was crazy, man.
16:17Wow.
16:18It was intense.
16:18But maybe we're a little desensitized because we're, this is like the sixth one in the series,
16:24fifth, seventh, sixth or seventh.
16:26Um, and so we're hoping for a little bit more.
16:30I think the director's great.
16:31I think, you know, the actors did their best, but, uh, again, thin characters, unlikable characters.
16:38Um, and you're just kind of going along with it.
16:42And I'm more appreciating the art and the brutalness and the visceralness and the mean-spiritedness.
16:50The camera work is there, everything.
16:51Like, yeah, there are a few more creative shots and, and, uh, camera work than I think
16:58even evil dead rise.
17:00There's a few times that burn actually kind of beats it in, in the visuals department in
17:06that side.
17:07But when the characters are less than rise and the situation is less than rise, then, you
17:13know, you're like, okay, well, um, it was a fun ride.
17:16I'm glad I seen it.
17:18I probably wouldn't tell anybody other than evil dead fans to go out and see it.
17:23If you're in a fan of the evil dead franchise, go out and see it.
17:26You're going to already see it because it'll be worth it.
17:28If you're not, then you can wait for this one.
17:31Um, but if you want to go to the theater, no matter what, and you've seen all the other
17:34ones, then watch evil dead rise or burn over something like Moana.
17:40Um, it's a very different movie.
17:42Yeah.
17:43Completely different.
17:44Don't compare these.
17:45Don't take the kids.
17:46Do not take your kids to this.
17:48Um, and, uh, Joseph, the, the, uh, weaker brother character has a girlfriend.
17:55And his girlfriend becomes the Ellie of this film.
17:59Ellie's the smiling mother character in rise.
18:02So, and she has big shoes to fill.
18:05And while she does some cool stuff, you've seen it in the trailers, drinking candle wax
18:10and acting crazy in her hand.
18:12Her hands are like chopped off.
18:13She's doing crazy shit.
18:14It's just not at the charisma level and the, um, taunting level that, that Ellie's character.
18:22Yeah.
18:22Edgar was scary.
18:24Edgar was probably the, one of the more highlights of it.
18:28Of just pure brutality.
18:29Uh, but all of them, I'd say are a little less dead eye than, than Ellie.
18:33So if you are a fan of Ellie from the previous film, you're going to want to stay to the
18:36end, the very end.
18:37So, uh, we'll talk about that in spoilers, but I am, I'm going to, um, all right.
18:42So that's evil dead burn, uh, for your, uh, viewing a consideration and come join us in
18:48the spoiler section.
18:49If you've already seen it or you don't care and you want to, uh, or you've seen it and
18:53you want to discuss, uh, all the crazy kills, I'm going to have to do my best to remember
18:57because there is a ton of kills and brutal scenes.
19:00Uh, so we'll go through those right now.
19:02Thank you so much for watching and we'll see you on the next angry Joe show.
19:05Bye guys.
19:07Bye.
19:08Bye.
19:09Bye.
19:10Bye.
19:11Bye.
19:21Now credit smash, but we get two after credit scene.
19:25One is the mid credit scene.
19:26Turns out we forgot about grandma.
19:28We did see one scene where the grandma is shaving her leg off basically with glass, cuts
19:34her leg off.
19:35And so now she's got two stumps and she's like walking on the road, this old grandma lady
19:39and she's like, that fucking French bitch.
19:42You know, that kind of stuff.
19:43And then, um, uh, Jeep Wrangler pulls over.
19:46This is a chick comes out.
19:47She's like, oh my God, what happened to you?
19:48And she's like, nothing.
19:50You know, my leg.
19:51This lady stole my leg.
19:53Yours do.
19:53Just fine.
19:54And then she scratches her.
19:56Scratches her.
19:56So she's going to be possessed, that, that, uh, Jeep Wrangler chick.
20:00And then if you let the credits go all the way to the end, this is the post credit scene.
20:05I'm saying this doesn't make any fucking sense.
20:07Now, in the last film, Ellie, who is the mother character that turned into the, in the smiling
20:14through the thing.
20:15And yeah, she was great.
20:16She was charismatic and everybody likes her.
20:18Fan favorite.
20:19One of the better deadites we've ever seen.
20:21If not the best that I we've ever seen.
20:23But they were bringing her back just for fan service because she died.
20:29Not only did she die, but then she got merged with the kids and she became this gross monster
20:36at the end in the parking garage.
20:39And it was called the Marauder or something online.
20:43And then, and then she, and then she attacks that.
20:46Then her head falls off.
20:48And then she got cremated after all that.
20:50And then she, and then her head got put in the wood chipper and the body got put in
20:55the wood chipper.
20:55She's gone.
20:56There's no fucking way.
20:57So then how does the fucking forensics separate her ashes and her body material from the kids
21:06body material and make three different body materials and it turns.
21:11Okay.
21:11So what is the scene?
21:12The scene is the funeral director that apologized for all the noise and the thing.
21:17And during the funeral, she has a bunch of urns.
21:20Okay.
21:21Good people haven't collected anything else.
21:22And families, sometimes they don't come and collect them and I just feel bad to keep
21:26them.
21:27And then her daughter's looking at the urns.
21:29Christopher something.
21:30I can't for the life of me figure out if this is a reference to something.
21:34Maybe it's just some random thing.
21:36But the second name is Ellie Bixley, Ellie Bixley, who is the fan favorite Deadite.
21:44And she kind of like picks it up, but then puts it down and you hear the ashes rattle or
21:49something.
21:50And then she goes in the mirror and the lights flicker.
21:54And it turns out that the little girl is reflecting an image of Ellie.
22:00So Ellie is the little girl or something.
22:03And then she's like, mommy's back.
22:06And then the lights go out and then Ellie appears behind her.
22:09So it's not just, it's just not just in her head.
22:12I thought, okay, maybe she's being possessed because some of the ashes got on her hand,
22:17but that's not the way it's filmed.
22:19I was hoping for maybe like she drops it or, you know, the ashes get in.
22:24And that would make sense, but no, it's perfectly fine.
22:27Doesn't get on her.
22:28Nothing.
22:28She just goes in the mirror.
22:30There's Ellie.
22:31And then Ellie appears behind her in her actual form and she's bleeding.
22:35And then she takes the little fucking kid's head and just snaps it.
22:40Fucking blood for the kid.
22:41And the camera shows the kid dead.
22:43And it's like, damn, we just had child killing, which doesn't usually happen.
22:47And it seems like a lot of films stay away from that.
22:49But, you know, they, and then she goes, mommy's back.
22:53And so how the deadites have never had this power before and you're giving her a special power.
23:01And I don't like that.
23:02Not the TV shows, not the comics, not the movies.
23:05There's six other movies.
23:07It's not a thing.
23:07And you're going to do that for her.
23:09Is that because you want a Bruce Campbell like, and, you know, Bruce is not coming back for these films.
23:14So you need, you want some, some, like main character or something to attach these films.
23:20But it's stupid.
23:21You could have done it a different way.
23:22I would have bought it if it's the ashes, she breathed the ashes and it was the girl being possessed.
23:28And then it's like Ellie in the mirrors and stuff, but not an actual Ellie form if you want.
23:35And then maybe if the girl dies and then the demonic possession goes to a mound of flesh and the
23:41flesh can transform itself.
23:42It's just like, no, it's just too much.
23:45It's too much.
23:45It's too much.
23:46Just have, just have a person read from the book and be like, oh God, we don't know what happened.
23:50Then, you know, have her show up.
23:51It's like you get back into the thing.
23:53That's fine.
23:54Yeah.
23:54That would also be another one where it's a different power of the book.
23:58Apparently there's three books, I guess, maybe in this universe.
24:01So there's the Necronomicon and then two others, I think.
24:04I'd have to figure it out.
24:05I think there's a couple because the last one the kid was reading about.
24:08They showed a different book, right.
24:09So maybe one of the books has the power to bring her back and do this, but it's not shown
24:15that way.
24:15The kid didn't do that.
24:16So then you're going to have to do another explanation.
24:19Oh, off screen on another section of the funeral home somebody was reading from the book.
24:26More work.
24:27Well, how did they find the book?
24:29It's not even sequel baiting because the sequel is a prequel.
24:32So, I mean, is this like we're doing a spinoff?
24:34Is that what they're hoping to do, that they make $150 million on a $20 million budget again and do
24:40a new trilogy?
24:42Yeah.
24:43Where is Ellie?
24:45Is she going to appear in Evil Dead?
24:47Oh, yeah.
24:48I guess she will appear in Evil Dead Wrath.
24:50Well, I thought Evil Dead Wrath is supposed to be a prequel.
24:54But it wouldn't make sense with the timeline.
24:56It already doesn't make sense with the timeline.
24:59So they don't worry about that because the first Evil Dead, it's like in the 70s or 80s or something,
25:04right?
25:04But I guess they're just going to link it to that movie no matter what.
25:08It is the time.
25:08Don't think about the timeline.
25:10So now Ellie can be in the third film, Wrath.
25:15And then by the end of the film, she gets killed.
25:17And then it gets tied into the original trilogy, I guess.
25:22That's if Ellie is even in that one, which she's not in the cast list.
25:27It could just be a fan service-y moment, you know, and they leave the door open.
25:32For a spinoff for her?
25:33Yeah, for a spinoff, yeah.
25:35Horror movies make dirty, filthy money when they're successful.
25:38The first one made dirty, filthy money.
25:40Would you not want to continue making these things?
25:43She makes a cameo on the final film moments.
25:45Let's see.
25:46Her character from Evil Dead Rise.
25:51The spin-off, the standalone film, directed by Sebastian, introduces a new setting.
25:55So they're talking about this film.
25:57It's not a standalone.
25:58So I don't know.
25:59I don't know.
26:00It doesn't make sense how she came back.
26:01You're breaking lore.
26:02I don't like this.
26:03Yes, she was a great actress.
26:05Yes, y'all probably had fun.
26:06And yes, she's a fan favorite.
26:07But how much of a fan favorite?
26:09The film only made $156 million.
26:12So if it made half a billion, fine, I guess.
26:15That's the true corporate greed.
26:17But it's like you're doing all that for a reason I don't know.
26:22I don't like it.
26:24Let her performance be that badass performance.
26:27And that was an awesome deadite.
26:29And we don't have to do like a Jason.
26:31We don't have to do like a Chucky or anything.
26:33No, we're going to milk them forever until you're 90.
26:36Evil dead in space.
26:37I'm in.
26:38I'm in.
26:40I don't want it to be Ellie through all the film.
26:43Well, what we do is we do it on like a different planet or something.
26:46Like they're digging in a planet.
26:47I like it.
26:49And then they dig too deep in an area.
26:50And they find one of the books.
26:51It was actually on Mars the whole time.
26:54And.
26:55I like it.
26:56What do you think, Joe?
26:57Evil dead goes to Mars.
26:59I don't know how they do it.
27:00But they do it.
27:02It's not even a good film.
27:02You can stave them.
27:03Yes.
27:04With hair.
27:06With hair.
27:06With hair.
27:06Get a wig like you did with The Rock.
27:08Yeah.
27:09All right.
27:09Well, we'll see what this unexpected post-credits scene where Ellie ends up if she is going
27:16to return in something.
27:18Let's see.
27:19So we've got the Kandarian dagger now.
27:24Okay.
27:24So they've got a weapon.
27:27Alice is alive.
27:28Yes.
27:30There are survivors from the first film that used the wood chipper.
27:33I don't remember them.
27:34But then they can join Alice in a third film, I guess.
27:38I don't ever need to see any of these characters again.
27:40I don't need to see them again.
27:42If it's a prequel, hopefully it's more occult-based stuff.
27:46No.
27:46No.
27:46The upcoming entry, Evil Dead Wrath, will go back to the 1970s.
27:51So we may not get a progress on the larger narrative until a later movie.
27:55That's great.
27:55I mean, but that's the right time for the wise men to be like, be doing cool shit.
28:01Because the grandpa, in the 30 seconds, he's like, yeah, we found it.
28:05We did all this cool stuff.
28:06I told them not to read from the book.
28:07They read from the book.
28:08Summon all these demons.
28:10And somehow grandpa was able to fix everything and end up with the stuff.
28:13And I'd love to see.
28:13It's the grandpa then.
28:15Yeah.
28:15It's going to be that.
28:16That's the film we're going to like.
28:18It's not going to have Ellie in it.
28:19But as Alex said, there might be some kind of spinoff or it could be a sequel trilogy to this
28:24trilogy.
28:25Once this trilogy is wrapped up and feeds into the Evil Dead.
28:28If they want to go crazy where the Deadites roam the earth and get unleashed on a massive scale.
28:34And there's wars.
28:36I don't know.
28:36Would it be Evil-er Dead or Evil Dead-er?
28:38Evil Dead-er.
28:39Dead-er.
28:40Dead-er.
28:41Dead-er.
28:42All right.
28:43Well, that's it, guys.
28:44Thank you all so much for watching.
28:46I like discussing the universe and Evil Dead because I like Evil Dead.
28:50What did you think?
28:51And where do you think they're going to go with it?
28:54Did you think the ending was stupid, bringing back Ellie?
28:57Or you don't care.
28:58You just wanted Ellie back.
29:00And where could they go with Evil Dead in both Wrath and in this potential spinoff?
29:08Could we eventually see?
29:11Bruce Campbell return as Ash if it makes enough money?
29:16And he's like, all right, fine.
29:18I'll meet up with Alice and we'll do something for a little bit.
29:21But that doesn't end it.
29:23All right.
29:24Don't ruin it.
29:24All right, guys.
29:25Thank you so much for watching.
29:26We'll see you on the next Angry Joe Show.
29:28Bye, guys.
29:30Bye, guys.
29:30Bye, guys.
29:32Bye, guys.
29:33Bye, guys.
29:33Bye, guys.
29:34Bye, guys.
29:35Bye, guys.
29:36Bye, guys.
29:37Bye, guys.
29:37Bye, guys.
29:49Bye, guys.
