00:11going to talk to you about doing HIFU at home and review this Hello Skin home use HIFU device
00:17that I bought. Most of you have probably heard of HIFU which stands for high intensity focused
00:23ultrasound. It's a face lifting technology that uses ultrasound to heat the deeper layers of
00:29your skin right down to the superficial muscular aponeurotic system or the SMAS. Heating the deeper
00:37layers of your skin encourages tightening of the collagen fibers and lifting of your face as well
00:42as new collagen fibers to be produced. Now there's no question that a professional HIFU lift at a
00:48skin clinic is going to get you better results than any home use device will because the power
00:54output of the bigger machines is so much higher. But for maintenance at home there are some
00:59handy mini HIFU home use devices that you can buy off the internet like this Hello Skin device that
01:05I bought. The advantage of using a home use device in between professional treatments is that you can
01:11put energy into the deeper layers of your skin more frequently and thus stimulate the facial layers to
01:17produce cells at a faster rate which obviously increases your collagen production. Ultrasound also
01:22increases the blood circulation in your skin and your skin's metabolism. The other huge advantage is
01:28that the more home maintenance you do the less money you're going to end up having to spend at a
01:33professional skin clinic which is obviously going to be good for your budget long term. Now I have
01:39to be honest I absolutely love using my Hello Skin device that I bought. It's made in Japan. Like the
01:47bigger machines at the professional skin clinics that do the HIFU lift it's got the three settings that you need
01:54for a HIFU.
01:55So it's got the 1.5 millimeter setting which is the setting that skin clinics will use when they're giving
02:01you what's called the HIFU Glow Facial. This is because it's causing collagen regeneration at the
02:07surface level of your skin tightening up your pores and increasing blood circulation to your skin which
02:12gives you that beautiful glowy finish. The next deepest level is the three millimeter setting. This is the one
02:20that you want for overall skin tightening because it's causing collagen regeneration at the structural
02:25level of your skin. And the deepest setting is the 4.5 millimeter setting. This is the setting that's
02:32putting that energy and heat right down into the superficial muscular aponeurotic system. And that's
02:39the setting you want to use for overall lifting effect because as many of you might know that's also the
02:44level that plastic surgeons are working at when they're giving you a facelift. Now the makers of
02:50Hello Skin recommend that you use this device on your face once a week for about six weeks and then
02:56less
02:56frequently as needed for maintenance. But I have to be honest time is the issue for me in terms of
03:04how
03:04frequently I can use the device. As many of you might know who have had a HIFU lift at a
03:09skin clinic
03:09when you're getting the full HIFU lift with the three depth settings the 4.5 millimeter, the 3
03:15millimeter and the 1.5 millimeter it really does take about a good hour and a half and totally same
03:21when you're using your home use device. And I certainly don't have an hour and a half every
03:26week to spend on my face. So I do try and use my device about once a week if I
03:32can but what I'll do
03:34is I'll just use one depth setting each time I use it. So one week I might do the 3
03:39millimeter depth
03:40setting for the overall skin tightening effect, the following week I might use the 4.5 millimeter for
03:47the lifting effect and I also use it on other parts of my body so the back of my hands,
03:53my arms,
03:54even my legs, obviously my neck and deck and you can I'll show you in a second that you can
04:02put different power settings on so for sensitive areas like bony areas over your forehead and back
04:10of your hands you'll want to use a lower setting whereas for fleshy areas like under under your arms
04:17here, cheeks I can easily use the highest power setting and you just have to go by comfort you'll
04:24know if you're using a power setting that's too high for any particular area because it causes this sort
04:31bony nervy sort of pain so if it's a if it's a level that you can't stand or it's too
04:37uncomfortable
04:38just turn the setting down and I'll show you the settings now. Now we're going to show you the
04:42different settings on this machine this dial is used to change the depth settings so there's 4.5
04:50millimeter 3 millimeter and 1.5 millimeter so you just turn this device so you turn it that way to
04:57bring it
04:57up to the 3 millimeter and then you keep turning it right to the end for the 1.5 millimeter
05:03and then
05:04there's the power settings so it starts with level 1 and then it goes right up to level 9 so
05:12do you want
05:12to press that yep so level 9 is the highest power level and level 1 is the lowest level so
05:22there we go.
05:25Now the Hello Skin's pretty easy to use but I've got to be honest I bought this off eBay from
05:30the overseas seller
05:31and I know that a lot of these are being sold on eBay and DHgate and unbelievably when it came
05:38in
05:38the mail in this box there were no instructions with the machine so everything I know about this
05:45machine I had to research and find out myself over the internet so I wanted to make it really easy
05:51for
05:51any of you other guys out there that are in a similar situation there are three things you must know
05:57about the Hello Skin first you must fill it with water so water cools the chip inside that's emitting
06:04the ultrasound energy and we'll show you how we take this sticker off in a moment but it that the
06:10device
06:10actually comes with these little silver metallic stickers that come with the box but I quickly
06:16discovered that these stickers are actually genuinely useless after one use they leak water and I was going
06:24through a lot of these stickers and I even have had to buy more off eBay which costs money and
06:30then I
06:31thought well I wonder if you could use any metallic stickers and guess what you genuinely can and they
06:37work better these are actually my daughter's children's metallic stickers and they honestly work
06:43so much better I have used this one for many cycles now and it hasn't leaked at all so we'll
06:50show you
06:51how to take the sticker off and tip out any residual water and refill it with water so let's do
06:58that
06:58okay now we're going to show you how we can peel off this sticker do you want to peel off
07:02the sticker darling
07:04so we're going to because this children's metallic sticker has worked so well
07:10it's stuck on yeah so water's already coming out so just tip it over there darling so that's how we
07:15tip
07:15out the water the residual water so it comes out and we've actually turned the power off at the wall
07:20when
07:20we're dealing with the water so we'll just tip out the residual water there we go just make sure
07:27it's all out it'll dribble out for a little while let's try not to get water on this machine even
07:31though the power is off don't don't tap it darling because it's got a chip inside so you want to
07:36be
07:36careful with it don't tap it sweet I know that's true okay that's probably enough because what we're going
07:47to do now is I'll show you the other thing you must know about the hello skin and this is
07:52the membrane
07:53so like with the metallic stickers it comes with spare membranes and you'll know this membrane is
08:01still quite good but you will know when to change the membrane because it does get a little bit cracked
08:06and worn so when it starts getting a little bit cracked and worn you need to change the membrane
08:11now this membrane is what you put over the cartridge as you can see and it's the barrier between the
08:17chip
08:18and the water that's cooling the chip and your skin so this is what goes against your skin so I
08:24because
08:25it came with no instructions I made the mistake of when I changed the membrane I didn't realize that
08:30the membrane also has this really clear plastic film cover on it that once you've stuck on the new
08:36membrane you have to peel off the thin film as well and it's so thin that you can't really notice
08:43it
08:43unless you know that it's there and I used my device several times with the plastic film still on it
08:49and I actually ended up giving myself some fairly nasty skin burns because the plastic was overheating
08:55against my skin so we're going to peel off the membrane now so because it's stuck on really really
09:03firm you may need a knife to take it off if it's too firm I think this is going to
09:12what I'll do is I'll
09:13just get a knife and I'll just get it under like this there we go it's coming off this membrane
09:21is still
09:22quite good but I just want to change it so that you can see how it is changed oops it
09:30is a bit tricky to take
09:32off here it comes and you just lift it off okay so the membrane comes off like this and then
09:41you can
09:41obviously tip out any residual water that didn't come out through the water input hole so there we go
09:48and we want to be fairly gentle with this machine we don't want to tap it too much whoops sorry
09:53now
09:53I'm tapping it okay now the water's all out and then we're going to put on a new membrane so
10:01we want
10:02to dry this first so we're going to get some paper towel and okay so we're just going to dry
10:09the edge
10:10to make sure it's totally dry because we don't want any water when we're putting the new membrane on
10:16and then I'm just going to actually use this as a base to steady it so now we're going to
10:20put a new
10:20membrane on so we're going to peel off a membrane so um they're a little bit tricky but um there
10:30we go
10:31here it comes so on the bar corner is easier if you do it at home you can easily peel
10:39the excess off but
10:41this isn't fully dry so we won't do it yet so okay now this is completely dry so we're going
10:49to show
10:49you how to put the membrane on okay all right so what you need to do is you really need
10:57to be careful
10:57to get the exact um thing here and yeah length and everything and i'll a few times i'll put the
11:07membrane on and it's been crooked and okay there you go now that's on now i make the mistake as
11:14well
11:14of um just moving my finger this way to really stick it in that's not good for the membrane the
11:21best way
11:21to make sure that it's nice and firm is to actually go this way along the ridge so you really
11:28want this
11:29membrane to be firm because this is what's going to be against your skin and um is is the barrier
11:36like i said between the chip that's emitting the ultrasound energy and your skin so just go gently
11:44around with your thumb or finger all the way around and then you can see that it's nice and firm
11:53and then like i said that's really quite deceiving that looks like it's absolutely perfect and that's
12:01how i used it however there is this really thin plastic film and this is difficult to get off
12:10now okay you can see i've just found the corner there so so once you've found the corner here we
12:17go
12:18here comes the thin film and you can see how thin that is and it's really deceptive and it's so
12:24easy
12:25to end up using that machine with this on but you don't want to do that because it will give
12:29you skin
12:30burns so there we go this membrane is all good to go now what we're going to do is we're
12:36going to fill
12:36up this water this cartridge with water and i'll show you it actually comes with that's really cute
12:44darling now i do want to say that i do not sell these machines at all and this is a
12:49genuinely honest
12:50review like the makers of hello skin have not paid for this video at all um this is this is
12:56really a
12:57review on it and about how i found find it now they do give you a syringe with this really
13:04thin little
13:06attachment to it which you can use to fill up the water input hole so we're going to get some
13:10water and
13:11we're going to fill it okay so we're actually going to fill it up with water now so what we
13:14do is do
13:15you want to pop that in and we get water from there it is a little bit tricky to use
13:20so pull it up that's
13:22the way and then what we do is we um pop that into the hole yep there we go don't
13:30put the needle in too
13:32deep because you don't want to punch the chip inside no no keep the needle in there yep that's it
13:38just have the tip in there and then pop pop water in there
13:46that's the way there we go now fill it up with water again this um to really properly fill it
13:53up
13:53it'll take a good five or six goes of that syringe and there comes a point where you think it's
13:58full
13:59and there might be a water bubble there and water will be coming out you've just got to sort of
14:03tap it
14:03to get rid of the water bubble and then see if it needs it um still needs filling because this
14:08actually takes a surprisingly large amount of water so do you want to get some more water in there
14:13darling and then pop the needle in
14:22that's fine it's a tricky syringe to use too like it won't fill up totally with water now be careful
14:28with the needle yep don't poke it in too much because like i said you don't want to but poke
14:32it in a little bit deeper yeah that's the way and then just press it down
14:43so it actually takes quite a few of these syringes and i would angle the needle in a little bit
14:50because
14:51you don't want to be hitting the chip actually i think this is now full so we'll just double check
14:58that sometimes a water bubble will come up and you think it's full and it's not really so what i
15:03usually do is just wipe it and then i just move it around a little bit to dislodge your water
15:08bubble
15:08and then if water still comes up now then you're pretty sure that it's full but let's have a look
15:17no it wasn't full yet oh actually i think it is hang on we'll give it one more wipe one
15:24more check
15:28it can be a bit deceptive
15:32no that was another water bubble
15:37see that's another water bubble
15:49actually not water bubble air bubble
15:53there we go i think it's full now when water's starting to steadily come out yep okay all right
16:00so we filled this up so what we do is before we put the new sticker on we want this
16:04to really be dry
16:05again just like with the membrane so we give it a good dry and then when you're putting the sticker
16:11on
16:12now i'm going to use um my my daughter's little metallic sticker again because it you it works so much
16:19better so we'll take the backing off here it comes and we'll pop this over the water input hole just
16:32to
16:32seal it up and i'll just put it over there oops
16:42there we go
16:45of course the difficulty with the hello skin is there's no gauge on it anywhere showing you
16:50the water level as it's dropping so um you just have to go by feel look um when you when
16:57it is full
16:58with water when you tip it up like this you can sort of feel with the with your thumb the
17:02membrane
17:03will be nice and plump and bouncy um as the water level starts to drop you will notice that
17:08that bounce starts to lessen um so i know it's extremely ruben rudimentary but that's all you
17:13can do you just have to go by feel and from my experience you can treat your face neck and
17:20deck
17:20i reckon maybe four or five times at least before you have to worry about filling it up again and
17:26the
17:26other thing you must know about this device is turn the power off at the wall before you plug it
17:32in
17:32otherwise it's going to spark despite these issues though i genuinely think the hello skin is awesome
17:37and i absolutely love using mine and the best thing about it is you can treat yourself at home
17:42whenever you like and you can be super thorough too i don't know how many of you have ever been
17:47at a
17:48skin clinic and you've paid to have your face done with a certain treatment and you just wish that they
17:53would do your neck and deck as well but you can't afford all three areas well that's the thing when
17:58you've got your own machine you can just do as much of a surface area as you want and um
18:04it's actually
18:04an amazing feeling to take some of the power back when it comes to giving yourself these treatments
18:09so now we're going to show you the device um actually being okay now we're going to um show this
18:14being used when i use it i um usually use it obviously in front of a mirror so i can
18:19see what i'm doing
18:19um so what you need when you're using this is some conduction gel um so i just use a um
18:2799 pure aloe vera
18:29gel that you can get from the pharmacy um so what you need to do is you need to put
18:33gel on your face
18:34so you pop it on where you're going to do the shots i do a lot of focus around my
18:41um gels and um jawline
18:45for like the lifting so i'll the power's on i'll turn it up to setting nine i'm going to use
18:52the
18:52highest setting and i've got it on 4.5 um so then all you do is you put it against
18:59your skin like this
19:00and you press this little white button and the shot um i don't know if you can hear that on
19:09the video but
19:13the shot will take um it goes through about um five or six sort of little um you'll you'll sort
19:21of
19:21hear it it's it's pushing energy out um and then so all you do is then you um continue on
19:27your face
19:27like you would do um if you're using 4.5 setting they recommend doing up your skin like this and
19:34then
19:35um you go lifting you go shots up like this and then obviously you do the other side and you
19:43can
19:43do the same sequence with with every depth setting um and then i also do um under the eyebrows so
19:52i
19:52would put it onto a very low setting for under the eyebrows maybe a four or a three and then
19:57i would
19:58just lift the eyebrows and you pop it up like that and do a shot there and i even do
20:03a shot
20:05there and then um to do your forehead um you can do shots up this way and then across like
20:14that
20:15and the other side and then obviously yep you do the other side the same and you can do your
20:21top lip
20:21as well and um and then with the back of your hands also it's um easy as well you just
20:30put some gel on
20:32um back of hands i would put i would go probably a four again you just hold it against the
20:39back of your
20:40hand and just let the shot go and um
20:48and it's as simple as that and um it does come with the operation with a suggestion on how to
20:54operate it
20:55like um the sequence that you do for your face but um my suggestion is look just play around with
21:01it
21:01you'll know what sort of um you'll know the shape of your face and the fleshy areas that you want
21:06to
21:06work on um whether you want skin tightening or lifting so um i would just suggest having a play
