A tourist was seriously injured after a bison attacked him at Yellowstone National Park on July 12, tossing him about 8 feet into the air after he and another visitor approached the animal to take photos. The bison continued charging as the man hit the ground. Park officials remind visitors to stay at least 75 feet away from bison, which can run up to 35 mph and are wild, unpredictable animals despite their calm appearance.
