00:21but if I'm Sasha, I mean, I could ride on anything,
00:23but really, it starts right here. You've got to get through
00:25these first 100 yards.
00:27So critical right now between Davies
00:29and the 37 and the 47
00:31of Kitchen as momentum in this championship
00:34keeps switching. Joe Shimoda,
00:36the championship leader, entering today
00:37out with a broken collarbone from
00:39qualifying. So it is very much
00:42up for grabs. Momentum points,
00:43you name it.
00:45And this is going to be a big step right here.
00:50250 moto two.
00:52Reds are up.
00:54Gates down.
00:58Sasha, not a good jump, trying to move to the inside.
01:03Davies has got the whole shot.
01:05Kitchen right behind him.
01:06Yeah, better start for Levi Kitchen up there,
01:08but Cole Davies has got these stars figured out.
01:11He's been up front the last few motos,
01:13and normally when he's up there,
01:14if he doesn't make a mistake, he usually wins.
01:16So Sasha in that fourth spot,
01:18but all our top three in that first moto
01:21are top three fastest.
01:23With Ryder D there,
01:24got the fastest guys up front.
01:26Let's see what happens.
01:27Yeah, you're right.
01:27For the most part,
01:28if Davies gets out front,
01:30he's hard to top,
01:30but we have not seen him battle
01:32Kitchen much,
01:33because Kitchen,
01:34this is probably his best start of the year,
01:37starting in second,
01:38and Coonan trying to get around
01:40DeFrancisco for third.
01:41Yeah, this is where Sasha
01:42is going to have to continue to learn.
01:44He's got so much more speed on these guys
01:46that he can let this race come to him,
01:48but that's hard when you're a 19-year-old
01:50in a different country.
01:51Well, maybe not,
01:52because he goes around the outside.
01:53Just got to be patient,
01:54because he's got plenty of it on these guys.
01:57Easier said than done.
02:00Kitchen's best start this year was a fourth,
02:02so this second is good,
02:03but he's got pressure, JT.

02:07to kind of rewire his programming,
02:09because I very much agree with James.

02:15but that's difficult for him to tell himself
02:17when every other race he's been in in Europe,
02:19he's had to take off
02:21to try to win these things early,
02:22because he has not had that speed edge.
02:24So it's almost,
02:25it's Sasha versus Sasha right now mentally.

02:30that's going to be hard to do,
02:31but at the same time,
02:33he's going to try to get up
02:34the inside of Levi.
02:35I don't think Levi's really going to fight him,
02:36too much,
02:37because he knows the battle is the 37,
02:39who's starting to get away.
02:40What I'm going to do is realize
02:42how much farther this guy was in front of him,
02:44maybe try to follow him,
02:46see if I can find some lines,
02:47because you know he's going towards the front
02:48if he stays up.

03:02and he explained the philosophy.
03:04They said their dad has told him,

03:05you don't know where the limit is
03:06until you sometimes get to it
03:08or go over it.
03:09That is the philosophy.
03:10He's pushing hard,
03:12but he's got a long way to go
03:13because Davies,
03:14three and a half seconds up
03:16on lap one.

03:17Cole's been excellent
03:18in these early parts of the race,
03:19especially second motos.
03:20I feel like you're dealing
03:21with a different guy.
03:22I don't know if he's more warmed up,
03:24but he's been more dominant
03:25even in the races
03:26that he's won overall.
03:27Second motos have been
03:28a different guy,
03:29so Sasha's going to have
03:30his hands full,
03:31but again,
03:32to have that much pace,
03:33you've got to believe
03:34he'll eventually get up there
03:35if he just stays on two wheels.

03:40Meneer,

03:41top ten early,

03:45that's a philosophy
03:46that I think they've gotten

03:48on the Moto GPC.

03:49in their qualifying session
03:50and qualify,
03:51you see Ryder D there down,
03:53but that's a philosophy
03:54that they use
03:55in their practice sessions,
03:56qualifying sessions,
03:56try to find the limit of traction,
03:58try to see where the very edge

04:00and I understand that
04:02and appreciate and respect that,
04:03but if that leads to injury
04:05through crashes,
04:06then it's off or not,
04:07so I do think there is something
04:09to finding that limit,
04:10but you cannot consistently
04:11go over the limit
04:12and hope to finish a championship.

04:15I ain't going to say too much
04:16because I used to follow
04:17that philosophy as well
04:19quite a bit
04:20until it started hurting
04:21when I was in that ground,
04:23but at the same time,
04:25he's got to find that limit
04:25because Cole Davies is,

04:28just seems like a different rider
04:29than he was in the first moto,
04:32but nonetheless,
04:34I think Sasha actually
04:34looks pretty calm to me.

04:37this race is going to be
04:38really long.

06:14has a veteran mindset.

06:22to repeat things to him.
06:23He takes things
06:24immediately
06:24and flies them right away
06:26and that is such a strength
06:27that he has on this bike.
06:29Yeah,
06:30specifically on that,
06:31starts were not good
06:32at the beginning
06:32of the season.
06:33He fixed them
06:33around High Point
06:34and the team manager
06:35over there,
06:35Will Hong,
06:36said,
06:37as Katie said,
06:39he's a computer.
06:39Once he gets it
06:40figured out once,
06:41we don't think
06:41he's going to revert
06:42back to any bad habits
06:43and honestly,
06:44he has been.
06:44Lights out on the starts

06:50has picked up the pace.

08:36both these guys are doing good
08:37on the Challenger racetrack
08:40and they've got a huge gap
08:41over third.

08:50to that number three spot.

36:24They're taking these outside lines
36:25using different lines on this
36:27racetrack and just really going
36:28around people and when you go
36:29back to Sasha Lucas that first
36:32moto he was passing guys and they
36:34didn't realize he was there but it
36:35goes back to my point is how much
36:37more speed they had because you
36:39just catching all these guys off
36:41you know by surprise and same thing
36:43with Sasha.
36:47There's no doubt they were amazing
36:48in this terrain unfortunately
36:50would not get Lucas in moto 2 after
36:52the big crash hopefully he's okay
36:54and that's just precautionary but
36:57there is no doubt of the speed in
36:59the sand for the twins from
37:01Belgium.
37:03Now if they would have come to the
37:04United States full time and that's
37:06the rumor that's certainly what they
37:07want to do we'll see if they can get
37:08that figured out contractually.
37:11They're going to have to learn
37:12supercross which is a completely
37:13different animal than Southwick.
37:15But boy did they live up to the
37:18hype speed wise this weekend.
