00:08Today, our law enforcement partners in Spain announced the arrest of a member of the pro-Russia hacktivist group known
00:14as Cyber Army of Russia Reborn, also known as Z-Pentist.
00:17FBI Los Angeles worked closely with the Spanish National Police to coordinate the subject's arrest.
00:21Last December, the FBI announced Operation Red Circus, our ongoing effort to disrupt Russian state-sponsored cyber threats to the
00:29United States and our interests abroad.
00:30As part of that announcement, the FBI and partners released a joint cybersecurity advisory on pro-Russia hacktivist groups conducting
00:38opportunistic attacks against critical infrastructure, including the water, agriculture, and energy sectors.
00:44A mission priority of Operation Red Circus is targeting and arresting individuals for their roles in hacktivist groups, such as
00:51the Cyber Army of Russia Reborn, to mitigate planned, malicious cyber campaigns.
00:56This action underscores the FBI's commitment to working with our international partners to disrupt and hold accountable those engaged in
01:03malicious cyber activity.
01:05Together, we will continue to impose costs on cyber criminals, wherever they may operate.
