00:02If you could bring the board out here please, this is big because the quarterfinals are happening and if we
00:09just take a quick moment to look at your board, there are 10 spots there and a lot of teams
00:14are not even in the quarterfinals.
00:16This aged well, we've got some work to do here and I'm going to help you out.
00:20You've got to help me out. Okay, so the first teams that have to go, teams that lost, see you
00:25later. You're out.
00:26I've got to take the U.S. off. That's sad.
00:28Mexico, really admirable effort. I loved that game at Azteca. You're out.
00:33Now, I'm going to need you to do me a favor and hold on to these teams that are left
00:37and we'll throw them on the table.
00:38I got you.
00:39So we can make sure, we're going to reset the board. This is called the quarterfinal reset. Here we go.
00:47Okay.
00:47Alright, very efficient. Let's do this. Two teams that have not been on my board yet, welcome to the board.
00:54Switzerland. You're coming in at number eight. I wasn't enamored with Switzerland.
00:59If you remember back, they drew with Qatar 1-1. Kind of an upset for Qatar. Not great.
01:05Switzerland, all they do is just make it to this stage. I believe it's three or four straight World Cups.
01:09They've made it to this stage. It's typically where it ends.
01:12If they had a fit and healthy Johan Menzambi, who has been one of their best players, I would probably
01:17give them a little bit bigger chance to beat an Argentina team
01:20who I quite frankly don't think has played all that well the last two games. They haven't.
01:23I do think that this is where it comes to an end for Switzerland. I thought Colombia was the better
01:28team.
01:28They won in penalties. Hats off to them.
01:31Norway coming in at number seven. While I do absolutely love me some Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard,
01:38I think that Norway against England, I think it's going to be too big of a task for them to
01:44overcome England,
01:45especially with the confidence that England is playing with right now after that massive win that they had down at
01:52Azteca, a historic win.
01:54I think that going through that type of adversity, very, very good for England, does not bode well for Norway.
02:00Belgium coming in at number six.
02:01Our enemies.
02:02They are our enemies, but they deserve a ton of respect. I thought that they outplayed us in every facet
02:07of the game.
02:07They hadn't played well in the World Cup. They just had their best performance ever now, of course, in this
02:13World Cup.
02:14Now they come up against Spain. Can they score on Spain? That is the question mark.
02:20Coming in at number five, we have Morocco.
02:24Coming over here, Morocco. I mentioned a lot of things I like about Morocco already.
02:28I think if they had a fit Saibari, they'd have a better chance to win. They're well balanced.
02:32I do really like that team. I think that their tournament comes to an end against France.
02:36All right. I'm surprised.
02:38England coming in at number four. I absolutely love what Jude Bellingham is providing this team right now.
02:43It was a heroic performance that he had down at Azteca. Not just the two goals.
02:48He also led the team in duels one and most dribbles. He's an unconventional type of attacking player.
02:54He also saved a goal.
02:55He did save a goal. There you go. That's the most forgotten player of the tournament.
02:58I love that performance from England. But they came in at number four.
03:03Argentina coming in at number three. Not enamored with how they're playing right now, but they're getting the job done.
03:08In my notes right here, I say, listen, haven't played that well, but messy.
03:12Pretty much all you have to say about Argentina at this point in time.
03:16Spain. Number two. Five consecutive clean sheets. Best back line in the tournament. Dominant midfield.
03:22Lominium all hasn't even played that well. Lominium all hasn't hit his top form yet.
03:26I think that this is where you're going to see why people think he's got the potential to be to
03:31take the mantle of best player in the world from Lionel Messi.
03:34At this point, he has the potential to win multiple Boulogne d'Ors. It is his time right now.
03:39Coming in at number one. They've been number one the entire time.
03:42France, you're on top of my power rankings. The best front attacking three in the world.
03:46Three of the best four or five players in the world.
03:50That's the power rankings.
03:51Listen, it's exciting that we're down to eight here in the quarterfinals. We're going to make you stand.
03:56I guess my question is, Erling Haaland has been the breakout star of this tournament.
04:01Meeland, their goalkeeper, right? He was a backup for Sevilla and he is just standing on his head and being
04:07absolutely amazing.
04:08How far can a great striker and a great keeper take a team?
04:12Because the gambling market would say they can't win. They're still 17, 18 to one.
04:16But I watch it and I'm like, I don't know, he basically just single-handedly beat Brazil.
04:20I feel like he should be higher.
04:21I absolutely don't disagree with the premise.
04:25But the problem is when your star striker has an off night, well then who picks up the slack?
04:31Yeah, you can't have an off night.
04:33That kind of is kind of where I fall.
04:35And so, look, you fall into the camp of the English back line knowing his tendencies well.
04:40Erling Haaland knowing how to hurt some of these English defenders that he plays with week in and week out.
04:44I think that if you are Thomas Tuchel and you focus your game plan solely on stopping Erling Haaland, doubling
04:50him up in the box,
04:51I don't necessarily see Norway having a ton of other dangerous goal-scoring options to be able to pick up
04:58the slack.
04:58Their back line has conceded the most goals of the eight teams left.
05:01I think Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham absolutely score a couple of goals.
05:04If Erling Haaland has a great day like he has in every game, sure, of course they have a chance
05:09to win.
05:09I just don't see it happening.
05:11All right, I had the reaction when you put England in front of Morocco.
05:14England in Azteca was incredible against Mexico, but I feel like so much of this is form.
05:19And if Morocco was playing England, I know I'd be picking Morocco.
05:23I'm a little surprised that those two aren't flipped.
05:26It's strictly down to, I think, the form of the strikers and what we said about Saibari.
05:31He has been one of my favorite players to watch in this World Cup, just the way that he has
05:36kind of broken out.
05:38I mean, it's why Bayern Munich has splashed the cash to go and sign him.
05:41When one of the biggest clubs in the world wants to sign you, then you are a fantastic player.
05:46The question marks around his fitness have me concerned that Morocco is going to be able to score enough goals
05:53to keep up with France.
05:54But if Morocco was playing England, I would have that as about as close to a 50-50 tie as
05:59you can have.
06:00But England has Harry Kane, and I love me some Harry Kane.
06:03I think Harry Kane is a fantastic player, and I think that he will get the job done for England.
06:09Last one.
06:10You know, I like to talk about what type of body of water is between these.
06:13We rank up one through eight.
06:14Is it a river?
06:16Is it an ocean?
06:17Maybe a Great Lake?
06:19Is the gap between France and Spain bigger or smaller than the gap between Spain and everybody else?
06:27I guess my question is, is it a two-team tournament, or is it a one-team tournament and then
06:33everybody else falls in?
06:33I think that the gap between France and Spain is more like a creek, if you will.
06:40A creek, I like it.
06:41A creek, and I think the gap between France, Spain, and then everybody else, especially with the way that Argentina
06:46is playing right now, is more like the Mississippi.
06:49So it's definitely a little bit bigger.
06:50But Argentina has Messi, and Messi, he constantly wows you with everything that he does.
