00:00When you were doing the circles around the fire and reciting the woes and the oaths,
00:07even at that moment did you bother to ask where are these shloks, these mantras, these woes coming from?
00:13And that I suppose is an important moment in life, is it not? You are getting married.
00:19I do not really know but I have heard.
00:22Aisa hota hai.
00:23When somebody tells you aisa karna hota hai, do you bother to ask where is it written?
00:28That's how culture progresses.
00:30Not really progresses, I would say, keeps rolling on through the centuries.
00:36Nobody bothers to ask why we are doing what we are doing.
00:40Nobody bothers to ask where is it coming from? Is it even written anywhere?
00:44Is it even written anywhere?
00:45And this is now a moment for all of us to ask ourselves.
00:49A lot of that which we call as our religion or culture,
00:53how much of it do you know of from the primary sources?
00:58And how much of it has come to you just from hearsay?
01:02Where am I wanting to tell you about something in this place that is written by the cleric poet?
