00:04When most people think about football, they think about the match day, the goals, the celebrations.
00:11But before any player reaches that stage comes years of training.
00:16I am at Liberty Academy in Accra, one of Ghana's most successful football talent factories.
00:24I'm Gabriel Akabi, a player of Danceman Liberty Sporting Academy, and this is my hustle.
00:30So today, in this episode of my hustle, it will take me through on what it takes to become a
00:36football player.
00:40You have to be fit, you have to be mentally sound.
00:43How often do you train like this?
00:44Oh, I do train like this twice a day and like 10 times in a week.
00:48Wow.
00:49Yeah, I've made plenty of sacrifices, but I'll say the one always that hurts me a lot that I've lived
00:55from my family and chasing my dreams about you.
00:57You know, I love my family very much. Yeah. So that's the hardest sacrifice of me.
01:03What age do you live on?
01:05I left home around 10, 10 years. Yeah.
01:09What are some of the biggest challenges young footballers face in building their professional career?
01:14When they go out there for trials, the kind of training programs and training schedule that they go through, they
01:19don't have the same thing here.
01:20And while some players eventually end trials and contras, others encounter a takasite of football, false promises, fake agents and
01:32costly scams.
01:35After training, it is finally time for a real test, a mash, because everything I have learned today means nothing
01:42if it can't be applied on the pitch.
01:46What?
01:46You
