Marco Bezzecchi lost his lead of championship standing after #crash in MotoGP #Assen TT 2026 to Jorge Martin

00:00Marco Bezicchi was hospitalized after crashing out of the Moto P Dutch Grand Prix at Assen,
00:05but has been cleared of any serious injuries. Bezicchi started from the front row in third
00:10place as he sought a first victory since Mugello, but the Italian dropped to fifth on the opening
00:16lap, just as he did in the sprint when he ultimately finished fourth. The four-time
00:222026 Moto QP race winner then started attacking Marc Marquez for fourth place on the second lap,
00:30but he fell at turn 15 as he closed in. Bezicchi tumbled through the gravel and was taken to the
00:36medical center. Aprilia later confirmed that Bezicchi would be taken to hospital in Groningen
00:41for further evaluation. In the hours following that update, Aprilia says Bezicchi has been cleared
00:48of any injuries after scans and will return home on Sunday night. Marco Bezicchi underwent CT scans
00:56and radiological examinations with no injuries found, so he is fit to be discharged and will
01:02travel back home tonight. A statement read, Bezicchi lost the championship lead to Aprilia
01:08racing team, made Jorge Martin because of the Assen result. The Italian now trails by seven points.
01:14It was Bezicchi's third consecutive non-score on a Sunday after being involved in the turn one crash
01:20with Martin at Balaton and then being suspended after hitting a marshal at Biano last weekend,
01:2519-18 the 21st of June. Bezicchi's last Sunday result was his win at Mugello a month ago.
