A powerful and rare tornado tore through parts of central China’s Hubei province after severe thunderstorms struck the region, leaving at least 11 people dead and more than 300 injured. The storm caused widespread destruction, damaging thousands of buildings and prompting large-scale rescue and relief operations. Videos from the cities of Ezhou and Huanggang captured the intensity of the tornado as debris filled the air. One student described believing it was an ordinary thunderstorm until shattered glass and flying objects turned the situation into a terrifying ordeal. Authorities say tornadoes are uncommon in the region, making this one of the most destructive weather events in recent years.
