00:26poets down this fringe club when I thought that's stupid look at them
00:29entertaining people in these shit poems yeah I don't know if any viewer into
00:33poetry at all when me and a bloke called Richard Turner who I'd been on the tour
00:41of America with we just got drunk one afternoon me rich Turner wrote these
00:44poems and I got up the next night and did them the first poems one of my angriest
00:48of all and it's called theater that's got him theater what are you theater
01:07he was immensely brave to go on stage with what is deliberately sort of shit material but that's the
01:16point and having the guts to push through the audience wondering what on earth are they looking at
01:21and and becoming mesmerized whenever I carry my speater the theater to do Hamlet it was based on a
01:29psychological truth he was presenting that kind of vainglorious part of all our lives as students
01:38when we think we're the cleverest we know most and you know why doesn't anybody understand me this is
01:43an angry love poem that I've written and it's called Vanessa the material isn't what's funny
