The victim of a stabbing incident in a school in Banting, Kuala Langat, is currently in a stable condition, according to health authorities.

00:01The Selangor Education Department said the Form 3 student who was stabbed in a knife attack at a secondary school
00:07in Banting on Monday is in stable condition.
00:10They said the 15-year-old student was brought to the emergency ward of the Banting Hospital at 10.13am
00:16following the morning incident.
00:18They said she is being monitored and reviewed so that she will receive the appropriate care at the hospital.
00:23The victim's father had told reporters that she had suffered multiple stab wounds resulting in injuries to her left lung.
00:30He said his daughter knew the suspect as they had been classmates the previous year.
00:34He said that he believed his daughter may not have been the intended target.
00:38He said the suspect who is also a student was undergoing disciplinary action.
00:43Education Minister Fadlina Siddik visited the school in the afternoon and was briefed by the school management on the incident.
00:50She said the police had taken the suspect into custody to help with investigation and the ministry's priority is to
00:57ensure the victim receives medical treatment and the students and staff get psychological support as well.
01:03Before the incident, the suspect was reportedly seen entering the school through the main entrance and the police detained her
01:10and seized a knife.
01:12Selangor Human Resources and Poverty Eradication Committee Chairman V. Paparaidu said the security of children in schools cannot be compromised.
01:19He said security guards need to be vigilant and monitor anyone entering the schools.
