00:00When you think of Chris Evans, whose real name is Christopher Robert Evans,
00:03you immediately think of Captain America, and those famous,
00:07but shots that went viral on social media for a while.
00:10He was long considered a role model for many men looking for guidance.
00:14Born in Massachusetts, in Sudbury, on June 13, 1981,
00:19he developed a passion for theater very early.
00:21Moving to New York turned out to be his best decision,
00:24taking a chance on his passion, and it paid off.
00:27He began his career in several TV series,
00:30before landing his first notable film role in the 2001 comedy, Not Another Team Movie.
00:36He then followed with the heist comedy The Perfect Score alongside Scarlett Johansson,
00:41and the thriller Cellular with Kim Basinger, which cemented his image as a rising young lead.
00:46A few years later, his career shifted to a new level when he portrayed Johnny Storm,
00:51the Human Torch, in Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.
00:56This first superhero role gave him international visibility and firmly placed him at the center
01:02of major comic book adaptations. He then followed up with What's Your Number,
01:06where his charm and playful energy won over a wide audience and strengthened his status as a popular
01:12actor. The real turning point came in 2011. Marvel Studios chose him to portray Steve Rogers,
01:19aka Captain America, in Captain America the First Avenger. Thanks to this role,
01:24he became one of the pillars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in major event films,
01:30such as the Captain America installments and Avengers. The upcoming Avengers, Doomsday,
01:35scheduled for December 2026, further confirms his status as a pop culture icon. In parallel,
01:42Chris Evans tries to diversify his roles, not without difficulty. Despite his efforts,
01:47the superhero image still sticks to him. We see him in Snowpiercer, where he leads a revolt on a high
01:53speed train, then in the touching Gifted, as well as in the hit crime comedy Knives Out,
01:58where he further chips away at the image of the perfect hero. True to the saying,
02:03if you want something done right, do it yourself. He took the reins with Before We Go,
02:07an independent film he directed and starred in, asserting his desire to be more involved in creation.
02:13In the 2020s, he stood out in the Apple TV Plus series Defending Jacob, playing a father confronted
02:19with his son being accused of murder. More recently, he could be seen in Materialists,
02:24a romantic comedy starring Dakota Johnson. Today, his film choices seem driven by the desire to remain
02:31at the center of the industry, like many actors who aim for longevity. Audiences now expect him to dive
02:37into roles where his sex appeal and mischievous charm will wreak havoc.
