00:00Achyaraji, every year in the rest of the world, Gandhiji is remembered as a great person.
00:05But if we look at our own country, then people of our own country are abusing him.
00:11All this that is going on is simply ugly.
00:15You are blaming him for India's partition.
00:18How is he to be blamed?
00:20If there was one man who said India will not be partitioned, it was Gandhi.
00:25If partition were to be averted, right actions should have been taken in decades prior to partition.
00:35Once the two communities have been deeply steeped in hatred against each other, partition became inevitable.
00:4646 or 47, the equation had already been sealed.
00:50If you don't see that, go and ask Churchill.
00:53He will tell you who Gandhi was.
00:56If you don't see this, go and ask Jinnah.
00:58He will tell you who Gandhi was.
01:00Or Mountbatten, ask them.
01:02Mahatma, that came from Tagore.
01:05And think of his differences with Gandhi.
01:08Gandhi didn't like the kind of nationalism Gandhi was promoting.
01:13He said nationalism is the very mother of all kinds of mischief.
01:19But still, Tagore had such a healthy respect for Gandhi.
01:25Ritism is one thing and slander is totally different.
