00:01Aid workers have warned that the aftermath of the earthquake in Venezuela last week has
00:07developed into a major medical crisis. Meanwhile, international rescue teams continue search
00:13efforts as many remain trapped under the rubble. One non-governmental digital database where
00:20families can register missing loved ones showed over 40,000 people still unaccounted for as
00:26of Wednesday.
00:56There are more than 4,000 officials and international brigadiers that are still in the disaster zone,
01:03in the disaster zone, looking for living people.
01:08Thousands of displaced Venezuelans are sleeping in crowded shelters or outside without access
01:14to clean water. Venezuela is also facing a severe shortage of doctors, while aid workers warned
01:20that extensive damage to infrastructure could fuel disease outbreaks in the hardest hit communities.
01:31Russian forces launched a massive overnight bombardment of Kyiv using strike drones and missiles,
01:37killing at least 10 people and wounding at least 56, including children, as explosions echoed across
01:43the capital. The heavy barrage affected five districts of the wider region, with regional governor
01:49Mikola Kalashnik confirming coordinated strikes involving a wave of ballistic missiles and drones.
01:56The assault followed President Volodymyr Zelensky cutting short an official diplomatic visit to Dublin on Wednesday,
02:02after intelligence reports explicitly warned that Moscow was preparing an impending large-scale strike on the capital.
02:10The latest escalation comes as Kyiv steps up its own long-range drone campaign deep inside Russian territory,
02:17increasingly targeting energy infrastructure and border-sector military installations.
02:22Moscow also said its air defenses had intercepted hundreds of drones from Ukraine in recent days.
02:35It is important that no further cuts are done to cohesion policy.
02:40Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Pekhanov told Euronews ahead of the annual EU budget conference in Brussels,
02:47where member states are set to fight for cash.
02:49German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called the EU long-term budget unaffordable
02:54and demanded a €400 billion cut, particularly for fundings of cohesion and agriculture.
03:00The cohesion policy is not a gift from some member states to others.
03:03It is an investment in a functioning single market.
03:06It makes the infrastructure that then enables firms across Europe to extend,
03:11to get new markets, to get new consumers.
03:13It also creates new opportunities for European industries.
03:17On another note, Pekhanov gave an assessment of his country's economic outlook,
03:21six months after Bulgaria joined the Eurozone on the 1st of January.
03:26In the longer term, the euro will bring benefits to Bulgaria,
03:29strengthen creditworthiness and strengthen credit ratings,
03:34more trust in our country on financial markets.
03:36In the short run, however, there have been some, I would say, pressures,
03:40pressures on the inflation side.
03:42Unfortunately, with the start of the war in Iran, this also contributed.
03:46One could say that some firms coordinated and increased their prices.

03:56and is finalizing the recovery and resilience plan.

04:16The European Commission hit the U.S. tech giant with a penalty in 2018, alleging that the firm
04:22had abused its dominant market position, particularly by using pre-installation agreements with the phone makers
04:29to give an unfair advantage to its search engine and Chrome browser.
04:33An initial fine of €4.3 billion was imposed, but the EU's general court reduced this to €4.1 billion
04:41in 2022.
04:42Google CEO Sundar Pichai has argued that the Android system has created more choice, not less.

05:21Germany's ruling coalition has agreed on sweeping tax, labor and pensions reforms,
05:26a breakthrough after seven hours of talks aimed at getting the country's sluggish economy back on track.
05:33The package includes income tax cuts worth €10 billion to be financed by higher taxes on those earning more than
05:40€250,000 a year.
05:43Changes to the pension system will eventually see the retirement age rise past 67,
05:48and the right of employees to get a sick note by telephone will be scrapped with the aim of reducing
05:52worker absentee days.
05:55Since taking office just over a year ago, Merz's coalition has become deeply unpopular,
06:01in part because of perceptions that it has squabbled but so far achieved little.
06:05Merz einer, Jaguar know you might do.
06:05Erillig RC不好意思, said ...

06:48which has been topping national opinion polls for months ahead of key regional elections.

07:02In the first quarter of 2026, it reached 45.5% of the total electricity generated,
07:10new Eurostat data reveals.
07:12Wind led the way, covering 44.9% of the total renewable electricity,
07:18followed by hydropower at 28% and solar at 17.3%.

07:48At the other end of the spectrum, the country is benefiting least from the green transition of Czechia,
07:55with 12.7% of its electricity generated from renewables, Malta and Slovakia.

08:06and reduce energy bills at a time when gas prices are at an all-time high.
