• Roscoe Beck: Basso elettrico, contrabbasso e direzione musicale.
• Mitch Watkins: Chitarra elettrica ed acustica.
• Bill Ginn: Tastiere e pianoforte.
• Steve Meador: Batteria.
• Paul Ostermayer: Sassofono e flauto. [1, 2]

00:33It's true that all the men you knew
00:36Were dealers who said they were through
00:40With dealing every time you gave them shelter
00:46Well I know that kind of man
00:48It's hard to hold the hand of
00:51Anyone who's reaching for the sky just to surrender
00:57Who is reaching for the sky just to surrender
01:04Yes and sweeping up the jokers that he left behind
01:08You'll find he did not leave you very much
01:11No not even laughter
01:15Ah like any dealer he was watching for the card
01:20That is so high and wild
01:22He'll never need to deal another
01:25He was just some Joseph looking for a manger
01:30I mean just some Joseph looking for a manger
01:37And then leaning on your windowsill
01:40He'll say one day you caused his will
01:43To weaken with your love, your warmth and your shelter
01:48And then taking from his wanted and
01:52An old schedule of trains
01:53He'll say I told you when I came I was a stranger
01:58Yes I told you when I came I was a stranger
02:04Ah but now another stranger seems to want you to ignore his dreams
02:11As though they were the burden of some other
02:15I've seen that man before
02:17He wore his golden arm dispatching cards
02:20But now it's rusted from the elbow to the finger
02:25And he wants to trade the game he plays for shelter
02:30Yes he wants to trade the song he sings for shelter
03:03Well you hate to watch another tired man
03:04And suddenly you look a little older
03:09Well you tell him to come in, sit down
03:12But something makes you turn around, the door is open
03:16No you cannot close your shelter
03:19You try the handle of the road it opens
03:23Do not be afraid
03:25It's you my love, you who are the stranger
03:29It is you my love, you who are the stranger
03:36Ah well I've been waiting
03:38I was sure we'd meet between the trains we're waiting for
03:42I think it's time to board another
03:47Oh please understand
03:49I never had a secret chart
03:52To get me to the heart of this
03:55Or any other matter
03:58Well he talks like this
04:00You don't know what he's after
04:03Yes he speaks like this
04:05You don't care what he's after
04:09Ah let's meet tomorrow
04:11If you choose upon the shore
04:14Beneath the bridge that they are building on some endless river
04:20Then he leaves the platform for the sleeping car that's warm
04:25He realizes he's only advertising one more shelter
04:30And it comes to you he never even was that stranger
04:35And you say okay the bridge is someplace later
04:40Later
04:42And then sweeping up the jokers that he left behind
04:47You'll find he did not leave you very much
04:50No, not even laughter
04:54Unlike any dealer
04:56He was watching for the card that is so high and wild
05:00You never need to deal another
05:03He was just some Joseph looking for a manger
05:09I mean just some Joseph looking for a manger
05:17And then leaning on your windowsill
05:20He'll say one day you caused his will
05:23To weaken with your love your warmth and your shelter
05:29And then taking from his wallet
05:32An old schedule of trains
05:34He'll say I told you when I came
05:37I was a stranger
05:39I told you when I came
05:42I was a stranger
05:45Yes, I told you when I came
05:48I was a stranger
05:50Yes, I told you when I came
05:51I was a stranger
05:51Yes, I told you when I came
06:02Oh, tell me bird of paradise
06:08Do I have to dance all night
06:16Grazie a tutti
