00:00There's something therapeutic about stepping into the shoes of somebody else
00:03and looking at the world through a different lens.
00:07But it does force you to pay additional attention.
00:11Or maybe you do it anyway as an actor.
00:14That's why you're drawn to it, because there's a fascination with people
00:16and what makes them tick and the why and the how.
00:19It also gives you an additional layer of sort of empathy.
00:22You understand the path to how someone got there.
00:24And especially if you're playing someone who may be a villain
00:28and the villain obviously doesn't think they're the villain.
00:31They think that they're the hero in the story.
00:33And so, okay, how do you reverse engineer that
00:35and what is it that that individual would have to have been exposed to
00:39to have led them to this place?
00:41And then you go, oh, wow, is it that hard to fall off the path
00:44if you've come from an abusive background,
00:47if you didn't have parents to model the correct behaviour,
00:51if you're exposed to the wrong things as a young kid.
